Such a wonderful spot! From check in to checkout, this home base made for an extra special and easy trip. The studio feels spacious, well ventilated, and it was sparkling clean upon arrival. The host thought of everything you could need for beach outings or staying in. The bed is a great size and comfortable! The location is perfect, because you can walk to the beach, or walk in to town, so we barely needed the car if you like walking. There is great AC but you barely need it with the amazing cross breeze. The hosts were kind, organized, and very knowledgeable. Thank you for a beautiful visit!

The property is perfect. Great location, roomy, full kitchen, large bathroom and stocked with everything you need. So so much better than a hotel. Rick was super responsive and communication was excellent. Highly recommend! We will be back for sure!

We loved being within walking distance of Kailua Beach and close to grocery stores and restaurants. Kailua is only 10 miles from busy Honolulu yet off the beaten path. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The hosts are wonderful and we look forward to our next trip back!

Rick and Nancy’s property provides clean and convenient accommodations for 2 people. They have the cottage well stocked and organized so you have everything you need for a beach day or drive around the island. They are available to answer your questions or provide tips on where to dine and shop. We enjoyed the bikes and on site laundry machines while there. We would definitely return to their cottage for another trip. Excellent experience with no complaints whatsoever. We truly appreciated the cleanliness. Thank you so much!

Perfect location!
The place is exactly like the pictures. The location is amazing, a few minutes walking from the beautiful Kailua Beach. The neighborhood is quiet and it’s also close to many restaurants. In the place you will find anything you need and having a washer & dryer helps so much! Nancy was amazing showing us the studio. Me and my husband had the best time there. I would definitely come back.

Wonderful Kailua Cottage
Rick & Nancy’s Kailua Cottage was perfect!! Everything was clean and they provided many great amenities for us to utilize. The cottage is very close in distance to the town of Kailua, which has many great eats/cafes and shops. Also, Kailua beach was only a short walk away and the beach was so picturesque and stunning! Rick was overall very helpful and kind during our stay. We very much enjoyed our visit and thank you again for opening your doors for my Husband and I to stay. We had a blast in Hawaii and hope to return again in the future! Mahalo

Comfy and convenient with great hosts
Rick and Nancy's place is in great shape. Great bed and a well equipped kitchen including a gass grill which we used often. Strategically placed between town and the beach. After an initial week of renting their great little car, we got by on bikes for grocery shopping etc. Plenty of good restaurants nearby, but we cooked in most nights. When any small problem arose Nancy and Rick fixed it quick and they were a great source of advice on where to go and what to do. Kailua beaches are fantastic and close to home. GREAT STAY!!

Perfect place
We stayed at Rick and Nancy’s place for 9 days in November. That sparkly clean little cottage has everything that you need on your Hawaiian vacation - full size kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, all kind of dishes; flat screen cable TV, high speed Internet, laundry room with washer and dryer, beach chairs, beach towels, a parking spot. And it’s literally 10 minutes walk from beautiful Kailua beach with water sport rentals nearby. Shopping is just in 3 minutes drive. And the hosts are very nice, pleasant people living next door, always available for anything you need. Rick gave us a few ideas about nearby hikes, Nancy provided an excellent guidance about things in the cottage. They even let us stay for extra hours after check out time on our last day so we could take a shower after a day on the beach before our late night flight back home. If we could rate that place higher then 5 out of 5 we would give it 20! Thank you Nancy and Rick for making our vacation so special and unforgettable!

This is our second visit to Nancy & Ricks cottage & as before it was just perfect!
Central location with an easy 5/10 minute walk to either the beautiful beach or town, a modern property it is very well maintained and spotlessly clean.
This is the best accommodation choice in Kailua as Nancy and Rick have thought of everything you may need, with their very well designed modern cottage providing the perfect holiday location so you can just arrive, relax and enjoy your holiday.

Couldn’t have been better!
My family and I had a wonderful time staying in Nancy’s cottage. The place was new, clean and safe. We took full advantage of all the amenities - nicely stocked kitchen to cook our own meals, comfy bed, cable TV, washer & dryer, AC, beach chairs, cooler, boogie boards, towels, bikes, etc. The location is central to the gorgeous beaches of Kailua and Lanikai and to Kailua town (Target, Foodland, Whole Foods, Starbucks, farmers market, and lots of restaurants). We couldn’t have been happier with our trip. Mahalo for showing us the aloha spirit and making us feel so welcomed. I hope we meet again!

The best of locations. Friendly, helpful hosts. We loved it.
This was the ideal spot for us, a pair of retired Canadians escaping a cold winter. Imagine walking just a few blocks to a gorgeous mile-long sandy beach, and just a few more minutes walk to an even better (more swimable) beach at Lanikai. And just 10 minutes' walk the other direction to the town's shopping area, groceries, and three weekly farmers' markets. The cottage had all the basics we needed and more. And our hosts Rick and Nancy made us feel right at home there from the get-go. There's some noise from the often busy street out front, but that was hardly an issue to us. Thanks, Rick and Nancy!

Home away from home
We stayed at Rick and Nancy’s cottage for 3 relaxing weeks. The cottage was fantastic! It has everything you need, inside and out. Spent mornings and evenings sitting on the lanai having coffee / cocktails. (even enjoyed sitting outside listening to the rain). Great outdoor space!
The location is perfect, lots to do in the area, hiking, kayaking, biking, as well as the many other activities the beautiful beaches have to offer. Kailua and Lanikai beaches are spectacular. Great variety of local restaurants and farmers markets you could walk or bike to. Can’t say enough good things about Kailua and especially this cottage that literally felt like home!

Great property, central location close to beach and town with wonderful hosts!
We enjoyed a relaxed and comfortable month long stay at Nancy & Ricks lovely cottage, well equipped we wanted for nothing, quiet, clean and with lovely decor the cottage provided a central location, just an easy 5 minute walk to the beautiful beach and a short 7/8 minute walk into town.
We have stayed in Kailua a number of times with our family, Nancy's cottage was a great choice for the two of us, very well equipped, air conditioned, a large comfortable bed and with excellent facilities the cottage truly exceeded our expectations! From our experience we know how difficult it is to find truly well thought out and modern accommodation in Kailua - Nancy and Rick have absolutely nailed it with their cottage.
Everything was provided - beach towels, sun loungers, boogie boards, Wi Fi, onsite parking - you simply couldn't want for anything more! Nancy and Rick have thought of it all so you can arrive, unpack and get straight on with your holiday......... Thank You!

Great Hawaiian vacation spot
The space is as advertised and is well equipped with everything you need plus extras. Paper goods and cleaning supplies were in great abundance! Not their fault but because of the continued damp weather, the space never was dry. Nancy and Rick were pleasant and helpful with nice suggestions on places to dine and shop. The beach and many attractions were within walking distance and often just a short drive away.

This property is wonderful. The cottage has all the amenities of home and is just as comfortable. It's close to the beach and shopping if you want to get out. Or you can sit on the front porch and relax. Some family members stayed somewhere else and said when they come back to Kailua, they want to stay here.

Very nice owners. Clean and safe property. Walking distance to a gorgeous beach. They provided bikes and beach essentials. One thing A couple things I would like to see improved are the cruising bikes (air in the tires were very low), and the washing machine cleaned (smelled like mold). These things can be fixed easily. Great price, great place, and cute town!

We had a great time staying at Rick and Nancy's place. We were close to the each and downtown Kailua. Rick was very helpful with suggestions of where to eat or places to visit, so we got the "insiders" view of Kailua and the surrounding area.

The cottage was perfect.
My son, daughter-in-law & I just spent 5 nights in this cute bungalow. There owners have gone to the trouble of adding some extra touches. Decorated nicely, newer kitchen appliances, very nice bathroom with great towels, hook up for music with speakers in ceiling. flat screen TV, access to washer/dryer & most of all a thick duvet type mattress cover to go on the pull out sofa that really makes a difference. There were beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, beach mats & a cooler. The owners were so nice and helpful with restaurant choices & even let us borrow some snorkel equipment since we one one short. Very convenient to beach and town. Not too much of a walk to the beach, but there is a public park there with parking if you choose to drive. Also, very interesting downspouts on cottage . I am a Realtor so that was a treat for me to see something very unusual in my part of the country. I would definitely stay her again and I love Kailua.

The cottage was exactly as described. Very comfortable bed. Easy walking or riding rusty bikes to beach, as well as walking into town to eat out.
We shopped at Whole Foods and cooked at home. Nancy and Rick were helpful yet unobtrusive hosts. As long as the price remains reasonable, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a vacation spot. The only downside is that the property is on a busy street. It's perfectly fine when you are inside and you don't hear a thing, but we really didn't want to sit outside in the evening to have dinner. The music set up in the bungalow was awesome. Rick recommended a hike and a restaurant, both of which we really enjoyed. If I returned to Kailua, I would stay here again.

We were so blessed to find this wonderful cottage. From the moment we drove up, Rick was so inviting and helpful! The pictures do not do it justice down to the coziness, cleanliness, and over all serenity of this property. Also, he and his wife provided so many things down to the bikes to laundry detergent that they generously provided. It also has easy access to all the highways such as the H3. Restaurants, drug stores, and grocery stores are literally within walking distance. The best thing of all is the gorgeous beach just a short walk away! We were taken back by the friendliness of the Hawaiian people....We can't wait to go back!

Comfortable and Inviting
We are a 55+ couple and just spent ten days at this property. We loved it! We were a little concerned about possible traffic noise from Kailua Road, but after a day or two we never even noticed it anymore. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching the people walk and bike by. It was very peaceful and quiet. I once asked my husband to turn the music off so I could just sit and listen to the birds. The apartment is well stocked with everything you need for a great trip. Kitchen cookware, gadgets and spices, plenty of beach and bath towels, lots of closet space. The bed was super comfy and we slept great. The yard also is very lovely and while we were out and about most days, enjoyed early mornings with coffee and quiet evenings sitting outside. The owners were around but never intrusive and very pleasant to work with. We especially loved the central location: easy walk to the beach and easy walk to town, as well as simple access to roads leading elsewhere on the island. We would recommend this rental highly and plan to return again when visiting family in Kailua.

Wonderful experience!
This cottage was a perfect home base for us during our vacation in Oahu. Nancy was there to greet us right away when we arrived and was very responsive when we had questions. The cottage itself has everything you need: a functional kitchen with all necessary dishes, equipment and appliances; air conditioning; beach towels, chairs and a big umbrella; boogie boards; basic cable tv; washer and dryer; and a comfortable king size bed. Basically we felt like we were right at home. The place itself is very clean and well maintained. Although it is off of a fairly busy street, you can't hear any noise from inside, and it felt very private. The location was great for us. Just a short walk to a great beach and also to shopping and dining if you head the other direction. We had easy access driving to the north shore, Honolulu, Hanauma Bay, and everywhere else on the island. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone else looking for a great place to stay in Oahu.

AWESOME COTTAGE!
My boyfriend and I just spent a week at this cute little cottage, and it was awesome! It was so clean, spotless, and I am very picky about places being clean! All the furniture, fixtures, kitchen appliances and accessories were new, and high quality, the bed was so comfortable, and nice bedding! We loved that a cooler, beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, and bikes were available for our use. Even though the cottage was connected in the back to the main house, it was very private, and we did not ever hear anyone. Riz was wonderful in helping us get settled. It is a great location as well, close to everything. I would highly recommend staying at this cottage, and plan to stay when we visit Kailua again, hopefully sooner rather than later! It truly felt like a home away from home, and Kailua was PARADISE!

We stayed 10 days in Kailua and absolutely loved the house. As Rick and Nancy were out of town, Riz was very helpful as the overseer of the property. It was very clean and inviting. The bikes are a plus! Loved sitting on the porch and watching people walk by. We even made some new friends who are neighbors. We will hopefully be back and would love to stay here again. If you are looking for a very clean, modern, cozy place to stay that is a 5 minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (Kailua Beach), replete with cute market (Kalapawai Market) directly before stepping on to the sand, and only 10 minutes walk to town, then you have to stay here. Similarly, if you are looking for a quiet place that can serve as a centralized "home base" away from the insanity of Waikiki, this is your spot.
(If you are not familiar with Oahu, traffic can be daunting, especially anywhere near Honolulu during commute times or if there are festivals on the weekends. Getting across the island or up to the North Shore is much easier from Kailua because you can cut across on H3 and avoid all the Honolulu traffic. This was a big plus for us!)
The property is beautiful inside and out, well-maintained and has everything you need. The rental itself is clean, modern and very comfortable - including the king sized bed! It really felt like we were staying in a home. We made coffee in the morning and sat on the little lanai. Similarly, at the end of the day we might enjoy some wine and relax as the trade winds blew gently by before walking into town for dinner. There is a safe for your belongings, which is helpful when you want to go to the beach and not bring everything. There are beach towels to use, chairs, bikes, boogie boards all available. Additionally, they have a washer & dryer you can use if needed.
And most importantly, the unit has an excellent air conditioner that cools the place down in minutes. (I noticed a lot of the places for rent didn't have A/C and it makes a difference to have it, especially in terms of sleeping comfortably).
In terms of things to do in Kailua, they have several amazing breakfast spots, including Cinnamon's, Moke's (we went to both) and Boots & Kimo's (never went as lines are very long). For dinner, you have lots of options in Kailua itself and/or you can always drive to Waikiki to dine along the ocean or up to the Northshore (we drove in mid-day to avoid traffic, watched the fireworks at the Hilton on Fri night and ate near the beach).
Nancy, Rick and Rizaha are wonderful hosts and will help you with ideas for places to eat or anything else you might need. In all, I recommend this place highly and will definitely be back whenever I am in Oahu.
