About this house rental
"Rumba de Cahuita" is the perfect home for nature lovers and lovers of the Costa Rican lifestyle and those who want to become one.
The house is designed, built and furnished in typical Costa Rican style with traditional interior design by locals, all walls adorn murals by local artist Urena. It has two bedrooms (one with double bed, one with two beds, which can be placed together or separately), a living room with dining area and open kitchen, a bathroom with shower and a storage room. The complete furniture is typical of the country, mainly made of wood, partly made by hand. WiFi is available, but a TV looking in vain.
In the kitchen you will find all the utensils you need to prepare delicious food and drinks: stove, refrigerator, toaster, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery etc. How a Costa Rican "coffee maker" works is shown to you so that you can enjoy "real" Costa Rican coffee.
In the garden behind the house is a barbecue with dining area. The garden is like the whole house, natural, "animal" visit - for example, monkeys or sloths, toucans or hummingbirds - is the order of the day. On the roof terrace you can listen to the bird concert, observe the nature or literally "hang out" in the hammock. Stress and noise are far, far away.
You can buy necessities in the bodega next door or in the center of Cahuita, about two kilometers away. There is also once a week a market with products of the region. The beach is a short walk of about five minutes, and ten minutes further you can find bars and restaurants. (Recently, Reggae became an intangible World Heritage Site, and every Friday in the nearby Reggae Bar live music with local artists!)
Cahuita is a natural paradise. At Playa Blanca begins the National Park, which invites to walks, you can swim or doze under palm trees in the sun. With local guides you can snorkel through the coral reef, take boat trips, fishing trips or horse riding. There are regular buses to BriBri, Limón, Manzanillo and Puerto Viejo. If you prefer to travel by car, you can park on the property.
We are happy to give you more tips and information, and of course we are here to help and advise our guests. Just tell us what you want, we'll take care of it.

Perfect getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rumba de Cahuita. Property manager was excellent with communication, friendly, and available for anything we needed. It was such a nice experience. Rumba is beautiful and authentic to the community of Cahuita. A real carribean vibe! A short walk to the beach and our favorite Reggae bar just like the description states. I would love to stay here again.
