Over The Edge was absolutely perfect. The owners thought of everything. The log home is beautiful and the view is spectacular. We have stayed in several mountain properties over the years but this place was definitely the best.

This is the second time our group has stayed at this property. As expected, it was clean and well-equipped. Our communication with the owners was excellent. A third stay here is in the cards

Beautiful views
Centrally located to so many activities
Quiet, relaxing downtime sitting on deck
Great week!

This is our fourth time staying in this beautiful mountain cabin. We love the ambience of the cabin. The kitchen is fully stocked. The view is simply incredible. I noticed that some people complain because of the drive up to get to the cabin but to stay on top of the mountain you have to drive up.
The owners are incredible to work with. They answered any questions we had, and worked with us on actually changing some dates due to a family wedding.
This is by far one of our favorite vacation stays. Waynesville has great shopping as well as Bryson City. We love Deep Creek and the hiking trails in the Smoky’s.
We didn’t use the hot tub because we didn’t want our grands to be tempted to “swim.” We didn’t use the outdoor grill either. We did build a fire inside and enjoyed that very much. Also, we love the firepit area. The grands enjoyed making s’mores and swinging in the hammock swings.
You just can’t go wrong in renting this beautiful home. We will definitely be back for a fifth stay!!

Rustic cabin with modern appliances. Well appointed. Great deck with beautiful view of surrounding mountains.

The cabin is beautiful and the views of the mountains are spectacular. It really feels like a little bit of heaven. Far enough from everyone to have a quiet space to come back to after long days sightseeing but close enough to all kinds of activities. I'm not one to sit still usually when on vacation, but there was something about this cabin that made me slow down and really enjoy what relaxing things it had to offer (hammock chairs, hot tub, fire pit, pool table). We really had a great vacation and hope to visit again. I do have to mention that it is a pretty steep climb up a single lane gravel road so it probably isn't good for someone afraid of heights. We were really happy to have our jeeps with us to get up and down the mountain.

We were very impressed by this large and very handsome cabin. The view was spectacular and the accommodations were plentiful. It was a bit dicey driving to the location the first time, but after that, all was well and we had a great time.
4.8
The cabin is exactly as pictured and described, if not better! The owners are very responsive and clearly want guests to enjoy their cabin as much as they do. Overall great stay!

Modern, secluded, log-cabin style house with a great view.

Our family has rented a cabin for Christmas many times and this one blew us away. It is spacious, clean, well stocked, and has beautiful views. Great layout, all the amenities, responsive and helpful hosts, and plenty of seating for everyone in the great room. Of all the cabins we’ve stayed in before, I can’t wait to return to this one.

Rented this property several months in advance for a multiple family vacation. The day prior to arrival, owner contacted due to a water problem but unable to postpone vacation due to work and school. At lunch on the day of arrival, owner contacted saying the cabin was inhabitable for the entire stay due to a burnt up water pump, unrelated to weather. Owner then did not release full refund, Vrbo had to be contacted for a full refund. Vrbo was very helpful and owners were prompt in replying but otherwise unhelpful in providing a property.

This property was perfect for our family of four and grandparents who tagged along for our pre-Christmas getaway to the mountains. The property is centrally located between several local towns with an abundance of shopping and great food options. We loved our stay!

Property was just as described (beautiful cabin). Views spectacular and cabin well stocked. The drive up a little tricky (not if you follow property owner's instructions though! Stick to their instructions and NOT YOUR GPS!!!). Roads are well maintained and we didn't have any difficulty making it up the mountain. If you have a chance, the Great Smoky Mt Railroad Tuskasegee River Excursion is a must! We also picked the perfect time as the leaves were at peak color change!

We rent a house each talk and this one has by far been our favorite. Perfect layout and the boys loved the pool table. Hot tub was a dream and loved watching shooting stars after a day of hiking. Can't wait to go back!

This cabin, built by the owners with an incredible view was just what we needed for our vacation. With ages ranging from 16 to a 74 year old, it offered something special for everyone. I would love to book this cabin again.

Stunning!
Spectacular property and views! The listing and pictures don’t do it justice! If you’re skittish about a narrow, steep drive up a mountain then it might be a problem for you but we loved it!

Magnificent location
Over the Edge is an amazing property. The home itself is a beauty and the views are worth the trek up the mountain. We enjoyed having enough space for 6 without ever bumping into one another. The game room downstairs was a huge hit. The house was clean and well furnished. The hottub worked magic after days of mountain climbing. I would highly recommend this vacation home and truly hope to stay again.

My husband and I chose to meet family at this beautiful cabin for an extended weekend getaway. The cabin is beautiful. The interior looked immaculate and the view was breathtaking. I did however have complaints with the refrigerator, the grill and the hot tub. The refrigerator is inefficient. The owners insisted that it worked fine and was just taking a long time to cool off because we stocked it with a lot of room temp food however, the food we placed in it was ice cold. After several complaints and having the refrigerator at 55 degrees with spoiling food for over 18 hours a service man came out to clean the coils which helped. They obviously have a issue with it because theres a thermometer kept in it. The upkeep outside is slacking and despite the strict nosmoking policy, theres evidence of people smoking all around, there was trash outside and the tables werent clean. Also, I was told by the owners that there was a shortage on propane and that due to this we couldnt use the grill. After seeing all the local stores stocked up propane tanks, i messaged the owners. A tank was delivered and left on the porch. My husband hooked it and, in actuality, there was a bad leak at the connection which made it dangerously inopperable. I wish I had known the truth before wasting money on 6 steaks. In addition, when you're in the hottub, the view is obstructed because it's on the side of the house. I was surprised to see sedimentation and gravel in the hottub after having to pay a hefty service/cleaning fee for it's use. And off to a really uncomfortable night's sleep. The pillows are flat and the bed is cheap and hard. The comforter has a wire running thru it and you are instructed to remove it before laying down. It looks soo gross and I can imagine given the bed time instructions, it's never washed. The downstairs room ac vent drips on the bed so my son's bed had a constant wet spot on it. The owners insist that they want you to tell them about issues however I felt scorned and dismissed thru our conversations. Sadly I also felt like they were being dishonest and that they knew the grill was not working and the refrigerator is not cooling properly in advance.

This is a beautiful home with a well stocked kitchen and great views (on a cloudless day). Our hosts were very responsive...we had an interesting week, starting with a power outage at the beginning of our stay and flash flooding at the end of our stay, so needless to say, our views weren't always great. NC had been without much rain in the spring and unfortunately it came while we were there! We discovered why theyre called the Smoky Mountains. We still enjoyed our time, got in some hiking, waterfall viewing, and tubing down the river on our nice days and enjoyed the cute neighboring towns on our rainy days. The drive up the mountain was an adventure but as most reviewers stated, after a time or two up and down, you get used to it. Our family enjoyed the hot tub and the firepit and we even made flatbread pizzas using the pizza oven one night. Overall it was a great family getaway for our group of all adults.

Over the edge of Heaven
This was by far the hardest one to leave. This cabin and the history behind this cabin is very heart warming! Communication was excellent! It is a 2 mile ride up the mountain however my husband made it up and down on his CBR1000RR in the dark so it can be done. Thank you for sharing your beautiful space literally over the edge of heaven!

Beautiful cabin with an amazing view. A few issues to note: It would be helpful to highlight the road to the property can be difficult to manage in dark for the first time. Several problems with Direct TV, internet. Empty propane tank attached to the BBQ ( after we brought home steaks to cook !) You are required to remove all of your own trash- a service would be helpful to handle this piece for travelers.

To say that we enjoyed our stay, would be an understatement. We live on the coast of NC and travel to the mountains every year. This was by far the most beautiful view we have ever seen. The cabin was just perfect for our family. The location was central to so many destinations and activities. We went horseback riding, rode the Great Smoky Mountain Train, visited different towns each day, and just enjoyed the scenery at the cabin. Not only were the hosts quick to answer any questions we had, but they were also extremely helpful in getting my laptop mailed to me after I accidentally left it there. I cannot say enough positive things about our stay....if you are on the fence....book them! You will not regret it!!
