About this cottage rental
Casita Juliet has it all for the single traveler or couple. Located on a quiet, downtown street and short walk to Taos Plaza. It is a one bedroom (Queen) little home with a well equipped kitchen, separate eating area, large living room. It is decorated in my style of antiques, art and whimsy.
Casita Juliet has all appliances, dishes and kitchenware, towels and bedding in a charming intimate yet roomy little house. Ceiling fans in bedroom and living room as well as screened windows and door for summer visits. Electric baseboard heaters in all rooms insure cozy winter stays. It has two outdoor living areas and of course a ridiculous number of plants--a signature of mine...
Although there are two homes on this property, both have a feeling of privacy with separate off street parking, garden and outdoor living spaces.
Casita Juliet can also be combined with the main house 'Casa Madre' as a family compound for a larger group of up to 10.
As with all of my properties Casita Juliet is pet friendly. $10 per night per dog which may be left at departure. Dog sheets provided for sofa and bed. Mutt mitts for clean up. Front area is fenced so your small dog can spend time with you on front patio/portal.
If Casita Juliet is booked for your dates, please look at vrbo 797997 (Casa Azul) or Vrbo 920144 (Casa Verde) which are also downtown one bedroom casitas.
Please note Casita Juliet can be booked with Vrbo 482097 on the same property for larger groups.

We enjoyed the whimsy of this casita. It is a funky little place perfect for a single or couple. We appreciated the “dog sheets”, the artwork, listening to old records, and hanging outside. Close to downtown but still very quiet and peaceful.

This is a sweet, little casita that’s very nice for the price. It has many steps and levels, though, so may not be right for older tenants as there’s certainly a fall possibility. The amenities are as described and although the TV is difficult to figure out, it did finally work. It’s very comfortable and quiet, but needs a few more window coverings for single women travelers to feel comfortable.

Expensive for one night for two people. Final total was $362 with all the fees. Makes the posted “$135/night” rather misleading. We needed something soon and the location was good, so it was okay. We tried to contact owner about an earlier arrival of a couple hours because it was very hot that day, but got no answer.

Never got the TV to work with Netflix and called the host twice and never got anyone to follow-up to fix it as she promised. Don't book here if you drive anything larger than an SUV. We have a dually truck and it was a chore getting in and out. The neighbors in the other unit had a small motorcycle trailer and had to dc it and turn it around by hand. The street is very narrow and has a lot of fast traffic so don't plan on walks with your dog unless you drive to the park. It was very clean inside but the grounds have not been kept up very well, lots of weeds, overgrown bushes, etc. I had requested a late checkout and she said it was no problem if out by 1:00, as my husband had a long Dr. appt and wasn't going to be done until noon. At 10:15 the host called and wanted to know why I wasn't out. I reminded her of our deal but she said there was someone coming in that afternoon so I had to be out by 11:00. This was not what I expected and it was too warm to just hang out with my dog downtown. Would not stay here again.

The house was very comfortable. The property is in a quiet area but local attractions are easily accessible. The Plaza and Kit Carson Park are a short walk away. I would highly recommend Casita Juliet to friends and family.

We were in town to fish and explore, Casita Juliet was the perfect location for exploring in any direction, then coming back for grocery store or restaurant.

We loved staying at Casita Juliet. The parking is right at the casita. It was quiet and the bed very comfortable. It’s spacious with a lovely side room, kitchen table and a back room with a washer/dryer. Everything you need in the kitchen is supplied. We loved the outdoor space as well. We would definitely stay here again. We also walked into town which was nice.

Cozy Casita
Casita Juliet is a cozy hideaway ideal for a romantic Taos vacation. Though only about 10 minutes walking distance from the Plaza, the house is private and quiet because it's set back from the road by a long driveway. The decor and landscaping are colorful, New Mexican eclectic. It stayed cool inside although the weather was quite hot when we were there. Five stars!

Very Cute place but needs a few things fixed
The place is cute and comfortable. Nice location close to everything. It is clean inside. The 2 places to sit outside are in need of cleaning and one of the outdoor spots is unusable due to a broken bench. The remote for TV was broken. Text about this to owner was not answered . Without the negatives I mentioned it would have been perfect.

Sweet, artistic getaway
This cute adobe has all sorts of thoughtful touches. It is colorful and creative without being over the top. We'd definitely stay here or at another of the adobes managed by this owner.

Reservation switched without my consent
I reserved Casa Juliet, but an hour before I was to leave on my trip I received an email from the owner telling me that she was extending the stay for the previous occupant and moving me to a different property. She informed me that Casa Azul was better and I would like it. She never updated my reservation to indicate that I was staying at Casa Azul although I asked her to, so I could reference the property listing. I just got an email with directions and a door code. Casa Azul was generally comfortable, although it did not have all the features I had used when I made my selection. There were 2 problems though: a refrigerator door that sticks and has to be kicked shut every time you close the door as it does not really fit between the counters, and very inferior quality (polyester) sheets. I remade the bed with the dog sheets (cotton) and we slept on those, which were fine.

Taos Christmas
This Casita is great on so many levels: convenience to taos, other towns, facilities to cook, quiet sleeping. I highly recommend it.

Great Property
Very nice little casita. Well appointed, walking distance to the Taos Plaza. Owner was very helpful. We would gladly stay there again. Thank you Melissa!

Great place close to the plaza
This is a great property, perfect for two people. Close to the plaza. The property owner is very responsive. Only issue is the bolt on the door is misaligned and it does not lock. This is an easy fix and I’m sure it will be taken care of by the owner. We enjoyed being there and would highly recommend.

Cute Casita
The casita worked well for my wife and I and 2 dogs. We enjoyed the outdoor patio and it being fenced for the dogs. It was quite and comfortable. The only complaint was the bedroom doesn’t have a door. We don’t allow the dogs in our bedroom, humans only. That was the only drawback.
