Thank you we had such a wonderful time. They provided everything you need. We felt like little kids away at summer camp. Playing checkers, pool, camp fire, and exploring all the trails. We loved the menu binder for all the nearby restaurants. Tb&j is a must stop if you like bbq. You will remember this cabin and those beans forever. Thanks so much for everything.

We had a great weekend stay! The cabin was cozy, accomodations were great for two couples. The kitchen was well supplied with spices, dinnerware and cookware. The fire pit was nice for relaxing at night after our busy days. Plenty of things to do close by. We called our trip "Walking and Wineries", hikes in the morning , wine tasting in the afternoon and bonfires at night to relax and finish our wines.
We'd like to send a big thanks out to the Schultz's for allowing us time at the Copper Owl!

It’s a beautiful area where the cabin is located with so much to see. All the waterfalls were great to hike to with our little ones and the house was fully stocked for all our needs. The owners were so easy to talk to and gave us great recommendations for places to go hike and eat. Thank you for sharing your home:)

We enjoyed reconnecting as a family at this quiet, well thought out retreat. The board games and small pool / air hockey table were favorites with our kids. We enjoyed the screened in patio on rainy evenings as well as our hike to nearby Angel Falls. The cabin was very clean, well kept and aesthetically pleasing. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Copper Owl! Liz & Karl have truly thought of all little details to make their guests feel cozy & welcome. Our girls were enthralled by the space & my husband & I are now trying to work a screened porch into our future. We also had a blast roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. We definitely hope to be back!

This was the second visit to The Copper Owl for me and my golden retriever Buster. Since this was my second stay at The Copper Owl, you might guess that I was pleased with the earlier stay or that I finally realized that I had forgotten and left something there last year. While I am still not completely sure about the latter, I am sure about the former. I liked The Copper Owl. You can look back at the reviews from about a year ago and see what I wrote about the property then. It all still applies. I'll wait while you read it...Oh. OK, you're back. So this time my wife came with me. And Buster again. In the time since my last stay there, my wife and I have rented and stayed at a villa overlooking a beach in the British Virgin Islands, a renovated brownstone townhouse in Boston, and a mountain home in North Carolina. The ones that we would definitely stay at again are the BVI villa and The Copper Owl. The Boston brownstone had history and location but lacked those touches that would make it more appealing and welcoming. The mountain house in North Carolina just didn't cut it. The Copper Owl has quality furniture and decor that demonstrates that the owners are serious about their property and didn't just go to yardsales to furnish it. The one issue might be with the television service and getting local channels. They have Netflix and Amazon Prime TV but the remote location of the property hinders good local reception. But we weren't there to watch TV.

Great cabin for a family getaway! Very well equipped kitchen and plenty of games, movies and Wi-Fi. Nice fire pit with plenty of seating and firewood. Convenient location to several waterfall hikes. Owners are friendly and responsive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay! This cottage is much larger than it looks! The whole check in and out process was simple and allowed us to enjoy our limited time. Property is conveniently 1/2 between Clayton and Helen near Lake Rabun, so a great vase camp for exploring North Georgia. Not far from other homes but you can't see them, even with no leaves on the trees. Wish we could have stayed a week to truly enjoy it. Definitely will consider again in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful cabin!!! It was quiet, cozy and very comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay. The owners were very responsive to our questions. The location was great for us to relax and to explore the great outdoors. We came to the area to hike and get away from the busyness of life. There was no shortage of trails to hike within a 45 minute drive from the cabin. The closest was the Angel Falls trailhead, Minnehaha Falls, followed by Tallulah Gorge State Park and Panther Creek Falls trailhead. We also went to Unicoi State Park, Rabun Bald Mountain and Yonah Mountain. There were two other state parks nearby that we didn't make it to (Moccasin Creek State Park, Smithgall Woods State Park). If we return to the area, we will definitely stay here again. For those who are sensitive to traveling on curvy roads, we highly recommend you arrive during the daylight hours.

Renting the Copper Owl Cabin was a great experience from start to finish. The property was easily found, tented and everything about the property matched the description. My only regret is not having more time than just a two night stay.

What a beautiful property! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The screen porch was heaven and the tin roof in the rain was instant sleep!
It is so cute! All the little touches make it amazing! The location can not be beat! We will certainly come back! Thanks Liz and Karl!

Our hosts were extremely helpful and kept in contact with us for our every need or problem. The cabin is wonderful, clean and, overall, perfect for a mountain experience. A lot of kitchen supplies were provided that we didn’t expect. My only regret is that I suffer anxiety from heights and driving to and from the cabin was very nerve wracking for me. This is not their fault and most people will have no problem. The roads are very well maintained and drivable and there is a very nice lake beach only minutes away. Several nice wineries and a few breweries are within 30 minutes of the cabin.
Thank you Liz and Karl for a great 2 week experience.

Liz and Karl were great hosts and were very responsive to any questions we had. Their home is charming, clean and well appointed. It is located in a quiet spot in the woods but very convenient to nearby hikes, Lake Rabun, and has plenty of food options within 15 to 20 minutes. We enjoyed eating and relaxing on the large deck.

Perfect little getaway!
It’s so much cuter in person! The photos online don’t capture the charming details of the cabin or how just how lovely the property is. We also appreciated that they had the little things on hand that we forgot like marshmallow sticks for s’mores and a spare toothbrush so we didn’t have to trek back out. And Liz was super helpful and responsive to my many questions. We had a great stay...only wish it could’ve been longer!

Precious Cabin in the Woods
Such a lovely cabin in the woods. Very clean and kitchen is well stocked with supplies. Quiet and you can hear all the birds in the woods while sitting on the lovely screened in porch. We had a lovely stay and will be back for sure in the near future.

Way better than expected and described!
This property was nestled on a gorgeous wooded lot that had its own fire pit, small nature trail, and patio with gas grill. The house itself was so charming and everything from the furniture to kitchenware was cozy, comfortable, and thoughtfully planned. My daughter loved the loft and claimed it as soon as she saw it. In addition, I’d forgotten many supplies in a scramble to leave for our trip and found just about everything we needed to have a great vacation without having to make several trips to Walmart. The lake was close by and so we’re the trails to Angel Falls and Minnehah Falls. I loved how these falls were a little off the beaten path, so therefore not crowded and short easy hikes. An added surprise was great reception (I have Verizon) and Netflix on a guest account. Finally, after some record rainfall the night we arrived, Karl actually texted the next morning to check on us to see if we were okay and also answered questions I had immediately. They are amazing hosts!

Lovely cabin in beautiful setting
Property was even nicer than pictured. Kitchen was really well equipped. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. There were books, videos, lots of wood for the wood stove and fire pit and propane for the grill. Lots of towels, toiletries and cleaning supplies which is important because the nearest grocery is at least 30 minutes away. Note: the roads in the area are narrow and twisty-turny but the views are amazing.

Lake Rabun at Lakemont
First, look at the listing. Read the description and look at the pictures. Quite simply, everything is exactly as presented. OK, not exactly. Better! So, you've looked over the listing. You know the major stuff. Here's what they don't tell you. The little stuff. And the attention to small details show that they really care. Communication with the owner was great. Timely responses and good recommendations about the area. Small things, such as the numerous flashlights placed strategically throughout the cabin just in case of a power outage. The electrical cords with regular outlets as well as USB outlets for those who may have forgotten phone chargers (not me). The extra toothbrushes in the bathroom cabinet if you have forgotten to pack your toothbrush (me). The fact that the owner was gladly willing to let my golden retriever accompany me. And another plus when the owner told me that she fosters goldens. This time I took my dog because my wife was on a trip with friends. I look forward to a return visit to take my wife. And my dog.

The house was great and the owners were prompt when communicating. We went to Helen, GA, but all of us enjoyed the house so much we wanted to be there and not go anywhere. It was nice and tranquil.

Three happy ladies! Lovely front porch, side porch, and fire pit.
Above average for a cabin in the mts. Well stocked kitchen, wood pile, and quality furnishings. We needed sheets for the futon, but managed without them since one of us brought some just in case we might need them. I will visit again.
