This property is in downtown Vineyard Haven. The Barn is located on the property of the Captain John A. Swain House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and as part of the William Street Historic District.
The barn has a second floor sleeping loft with king bed, built in closets, bureau and desk area. First floor open living, dining & kitchen area. First floor bathroom with walk in shower. The efficiency kitchen has a two burner cooktop, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, and large capacity convection toaster oven. There is a back deck with chairs for two+, and Adirondack chairs in the back garden .
A car is not necessary as necessities can all be reached by foot. There is parking for one car in the driveway. A bike rental is just off Main street. The bus line VTA covers the island and is very affordable. You can purchase passes just off Main street or pay on the bus.

Had a great stay at the barn! It is so cozy and convenient to the main town, yet very quiet. Shower was great- bed was SO comfy. Christine was so helpful and accommodating- would definitely return!

Comfortable, well-decorated, everything worked, private/not part of main house. Well-situated: close to Main Street but in historic district of single-family homes and churches so very quiet. Easy to leave property and get on roads leading to all parts of Martha's Vineyard.

We had a great time at Christine’s rental! It was very spacious for me and my wife. Conveniently located just steps from town and an easy commute from either ferry. Christine was great at communicating and has great recommendations for the island. We would definitely stay here again!

The property was near perfect. Very clean and well appointed. It was better than expected. Very cozy and comfortable. Bed was great. Nice kitchen. Doesn’t have a microwave. Odd. Drank a lot of wine on the back deck. Convenient location. Would definitely consider again next time I come to the island.

We had a great stay and can’t wait to return. The location is within a short walk to everything in Vineyard Haven (including ferry), and the cottage is perfect for a couple’s get-a-way. Owner was very responsive and informative. We are glad we chose to rent this cottage.

My husband picked this place to surprise me for a nice getaway. Our first time to the island, Christine was helpful with all the information we would need on easiest way to get to the island and to her place (we traveled from Ohio) The Barn is in walking distance from the ferry, walking distance to restaurants, shops and buses (our main transportation besides walking) The barn was super clean. The few things that mean a lot to me are the comfort of the bed - it was perfect, the shower, nice place to sit outside, comfy place to relax indoors, and the coffee and no kidding it all was perfect. We would highly recommend The Barn !!

This cottage is just perfect for a couple looking for a luxe experience that’s close to everything. It’s just a block away from downtown Tisbury (including a Shop & Stop grocery store), and a short walk from the Vineyard Haven ferry. if you brought your bike over on the ferry, you could get to Oak Bluffs or Edgartown quickly and easily. It has off-street parking, a full kitchen, a super comfortable bed, wifi, toiletries, even coffee! Christine was so easy to work with and was even able to lend us a tool when we needed one. Can’t recommend the location highly enough. Just perfect, and we can’t wait to come back next year!

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend. It was absolutely perfect for us- the renovated barn was spacious for 2 people and had everything we needed. It was even more charming that the photos. The yard and landscaping are also just beautiful. Christine was available if we needed her and very helpful with suggestions of things to do and places to eat. The barn is steps away from Main Street in Vineyard Haven. It was relaxing to walk for coffee; walk to the shops; walk to dinner. I highly recommend!!

Beautiful one bedroom converted barn in quick walking to downtown Vineyard Haven with shops and dining. Easy to get to the buses, a must to get around the island. The owners were lovely and quickly responded with a new hairdryer when the one on the property stopped working. Highly recommend this for a nice get away for a couple.

Lots of natural light, open and airy, nicely furnished and spotless. Convenient location for restaurants and shopping in Vineyard Haven and for access to busses to other towns on the island. Christine's brief orientation at check-in was very helpful for first-time visitors. Private porch and yard very nice. Excellent communication with the hostess throughout booking and visit. This converted barn has a feel of history too.

This property was perfect for us. Clean and tastefully decorated. Kitchen has everything you need. Conveniently located, 2 minute walk to Main Street, where there are lots of shops. My husband and I spent nine days here and we loved it. It really was the perfect place for us.

This was our fourth time visiting MV and staying @ this property. The homeowner is very accommodating and helpful! A notebook inside has many recommendations of local places to visit. The barn was stocked with everything we needed! The location is perfect for walking into town to shop, go to the beach, take the bus or ferry. We highly recommend visiting this beautiful haven. Christine is such a great host! Always super helpful with tips and suggestions as well as local knowledge to help us get around the island and see the things worth seeing. The property was clean, climate controlled, and super comfortable and welcoming. The location was perfect for walking into vineyard haven for breakfast, shopping, dinner, or to catch a bus to another portion of the island. HIGHLY recommended!
