About this cottage rental

High quality period stone cottage in central Alnwick perfect for couples and small families. The cottage has a delightful patio garden which backs onto the original town walls. We make every effort for you to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay. Puddleduck cottage has all the local amenities nearby. These include the Alnwick Playhouse. The famous Barter Books, (one of the largest secondhand bookshops in the country, situated in the fascinating old railway station) is just a few minutes walk away and is great for spending a couple of hours reading and enjoying a cup of tea and cake around an open fire. The cottage is located between the Heritage coast and Cheviot hills. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are just a few minutes walk away. The tree house restaurant in Alnwick Gardens is highly recommended (Need to book for evening). Free Wi-Fi is included. Pets not accepted. Perfect location - 10 mins either way and you have everything you'll need Bathroom has bath and shower. A must for me The cottage had little touches like DVDs, games, charging points for phones/tablets The owner was very reachable Information pack was useful Infact couldn't fault anything about it

Beautiful cottage and so handy for town centre. Tried most of pubs, warm welcome everywhere. Lots of homely touches to make it special, pictures, ducks, cosy throws, comfy bed. Even in early March, ok now and again to sit in outside courtyard area, well looked after property. Loved our 3 days, will come back soon. Xxx

The cottage is lovely. It was well equipped and very clean and comfortable. There was a generosity about the place - from the welcome basket to the basics left in the kitchen (tea, coffee, salt and pepper, washing up liquid etc). It is a few minutes from everything - playhouse, castle and gardens, restaurants. Best restaurant for us was Lilburns in Alnwick- book as soon as you can.

A fully equipped lovely cottage with a super comfortable bed and a pretty cute outdoor patio area.. We had a lovely stay in this perfectly positioned cottage with nearby free parking A most useful Welcome Pack on arrival with the essentials ::-) The cottage is close to the road so there is some traffic noise at times but that's what we were expecting. We would happily stay here again - Thank you

We really liked the cottage and the way we could just walk into town. It was a perfect spot for access to the wedding we attended in Alnwick Gardens. We found the beds comfortable and the house was spotless. We would love to return again one day.

Good location in the centre of Alnwick, however quite noisy as all the buses and trucks avoiding the narrow archway down the road come past. Street parking fine just up the road by the Tanner's Arms. Could have been cleaner e.g. kitchen and bathroom not spotless on arrival

Very well equipped little cottage. Fantastic location, just a short walk away from: - Alnwick's main attractions, including Alnwick Castle and Barter Books - Swansfield playground - various supermarkets, including Lidl - the bus stop (we caught a bus to Alnmouth - only a 10 minute ride away) - long stay car parks (although be warned that these get busy, but we found unrestricted parking on nearby Lisburn Street) All in all, a fabulous stay!

We were delighted with our choice of property. It was full of character, clean, comfortable and had a well kitted out kitchen. The patio area is very private and we ate a few breakfasts outside. Car parking was very easy as we managed to park for free in the street opposite most of the time. There is also a free public car park just around the corner. The location of the cottage is perfect with the Market Square, foodie pubs, Alnwick Castle, The Alnwick Garden and the Playhouse just a quick walk away. Alnwick itself is well situated for quick access to both the coastal towns and the National Park. We had a great stay and highly recommend.

The property had all you could reasonably want for a short stay in Alnwick. It is exactly as described online- close to all amenities in the town and a 10 minute drive from several wonderful Northumberland beaches.

Beautiful cottage in an amazing location, the cottage was beautiful & clean. Lovely little welcome pack with biscuits & wine on arrival. On the Friday we had no power due to the storm however the cottage had everything we needed to get through the night. Thank you so much to Janet & her husband for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage.

Fantastic clean cottage had everything we needed Lovely and clean Nice welcome package We found the bed a bit soft but my son loved he’s bed (but we are all different when it comes to the beds) Some fantastic beeches near by and castle lots of them One thing that would be nice a blind in the single bedroom with the curtains But 10/10 lovely places

We’ve loved our stay at the Puddleduck Cottage. The cottage is ideally located 5min walk from the city centre, Alnwick gardens, Barter books and convenience stores. It is within easy commute to wonderful places waiting to be discovered. The cottage is truly beautiful and well furnished with a lovely outdoor space. It is suitable for couples or small families. We highly recommend it!

We loved staying at Puddleduck Cottage. It was our first time in this part of the country and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The cottage was surprisingly close to town and with the window open, a little noisy from the passing traffic. However, with the window closed it wasn't a problem. We felt very comfortable in the cottage and parking wasn't a problem. We loved sitting in the outdoor space in the sunshine. We hope to visit again in the future.

The cosiest cottage we couldn’t leave....

This gorgeous cottage provided shelter from Storm Dennis on a windy long weekend in Northumbria. It had everything we needed - so much so that we couldn’t tear ourselves away from the log burner to eat out in the evenings (fantastic lunches were had at The Ship Inn at Newton and The Jolly Fisherman in Craster instead!). Brilliant location in centre of Alnwick for a wander around the shops, tearooms and pubs! Puddleduck Cottage provided a much needed short break - have returned much refreshed!

Great cottage didn't want to leave. It has everything you could need and it is so central. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Alnwick now and hope to come back later in the year.

We had a lovely time, getting out for walks on the coast and up Simonsides. There were good maps and walk guides and clear information about the electronic gadgets in the house and the local facilities. Our holidays are never complete without a trio to a second hand bookshop, Barter books was less than 10 mins walk away. Lovely holiday, thank you

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was so close to all amenities, so was in an ideal situation. What was provided within the cottage was excellent, so the cottage was like a home from home. We would hope to come back to Puddleduck cottage again.
