About this cottage rental
Located in the picturesque seaside village of Shaldon, Seascape Cottage is a delightful period Fisherman's Cottage which over the years has been sympathetically modernised, keeping many original features. Sleeping 6 people this perfectly proportioned cottage is dog friendly and ideal for families and groups of adults alike.
Over three floors all rooms have been stylishly furnished to a high standard. The ground floor has original hard flooring throughout and a lounge with comfortable furnishings, fireplace and all the mod cons. The modern shaker style kitchen works perfectly with the period features and is equipped with all the must haves. The dining room with vaulted glazed roof gives access to the quaint enclosed courtyard with bistro table and chairs.
The first floor holds two bedrooms; a super-king that can be easily adapted to a twin bedroom and a further triple bunk bedroom (small double with single on top). The modern family bathroom has a bath & overhead shower. From the first floor you can access the road at the rear of the property, Top Cliff, through a small terrace.
On the top floor is a king-sized bedroom that enjoys lots of natural light and views of the Teign estuary.
The owners have provided everything you may need from luxury toiletries to dog bowls, bed rails & stair gates.
Seascape is short level walk to the many amenities of Shaldon where you can find a butcher, baker, village store, gift shops as well as pubs and restaurants aplenty.
Otherwise known as the drinking village with a fishing problem, Shaldon, is an idyllic fishing village with its thatched period cottages and windy narrow streets. Enjoy the ruby red beaches including going to Ness Cove through a smugglers tunnel, Shaldon Wildlife Zoo and many other local activities on your doorstep.

Had a great few days in this cosy, quirky cottage which has some lovely features. Comfy beds and plenty of room for 2 adults and 3 teenage boys! Always found parking on salty lane which is a 2 minute walk from the house. Would definitely stay here again.

Had no problem renting property. Good communication, easy to book.

Comfortable and nicely decorated house but you will need to watch your head if over 5’ 6 “ as several low doorways - the property is a short walk from the lovely village of Shaldon. Well equipped kitchen and extremely comfortable beds and bedding. Nice dining area and small outside space. Lots of information, games, books etc for those rainy days. The house is right on Ringmore road which although not a main road and with a supposed 20 mile speed limit is actually quite busy and the traffic noise is noticeable. Shaldon itself is a well serviced village with a great butcher, bakery, post office, village store and several pubs and cafes. Also a jigsaw library! There is a beach, botanical gardens, small zoo and interesting tunnel to access a good sunbathing beach. Teignmouth and trains up and down the coast can be reached easily by ferry from the village beach. All in all a lovely place to stay

Lovely little cottage well equipped, plenty of places to park. Ideal to walk into Shaldon which is lovely. The cottage had two flights of stairs and extremely comfortable beds and linen, towels. Lots of hot water for showers . We were a bit disappointed to find the cottage the other end of Shaldon as the photo advertising this cottage shows the beach . It gives the impression the cottage is overlooking the beach. Which it’s not.

Lovely place to stay in a friendly coastal village
The cottage was so cosy and had all we needed for a fabulous stay. The cottage is clean and well appointed and they have made good use of the space. It is a short walk to the village which has a friendly local feel, and a small beach. Parking is round the corner and the location made a good base for visiting south Devon attractions and Dartmoor.

Fantastic Seaside Break
We had a fantastic seaside break. Seascape is the perfect base for a family bucket and spade holiday in the delightful village of Shaldon, with Ness Bay the favoured spot for sandcastles and swimming. And what a base it is - lovely cottage with everything you could want and great communications and management by Sara and co. Thank you!

Seascape is a lovely cottage with some great design features, situated close to the amenities in Shaldon and some fine pubs. It's just a short walk to the water's edge for beautiful sunsets. On arrival I struggled to find a parking space but found a cul-de-sac just off Saltey Lane and had no problems after that. Highly recommended

This was our first visit to Shaldon and we were very impressed. The village is lovely, with colourful cottages, plenty of great pubs and restaurants and very friendly. We particularly enjoyed the food and drink at the London Inn, the Ferry Inn, Clipper and the Ness. Fish and Chips from the fish shop were great too. We also visited the small zoo and botanical gardens and got the ferry over to Teignmouth.
The property is lovely. Everything as described; comfortable and clean. The host was great with communications and recommendations on the best places to eat. Nice welcome pack with local goodies which was appreciated. Wouldn’t hesitate in returning to Seascape.

Half Term
Shaldon is a fantastic village and Seascope
Cottage is a great place to stay. Couldn’t fault anything. I just wish I hadn’t played football with my nephew on the football pitch not 2 mins from the cottage because I couldn’t walk for 2 days but fortunately it didn’t prevent me from having a couple of pints in the Ferry Boat Inn most evenings (sorry I didn’t try the pub directly opposite cottage because the Ferry Boat was so good). We will return to Seascape one day.

Bank holiday August weekend
This is a delightful cottage in Shaldon. The cottage was clean and well equipped with a homely feel to it. The beds were so comfortable and the bedding was freshly laundered. We were lucky enough to have amazing weather and spend some time on the beach in Torquay and Brixham was also a short drive away. We ate out every night as there was no shortage of lovely dog friendly pubs! Altogether a lovely weekend break!

Bliss by the sea
A very cleverly designed house, that offered comfortable acomodation for our family of 5. We enjoyed our little sun patio and really liked being able to talk from the kitchen window on one side to family sitting in patio and also look out the window onto the lounge on the other side . It was a great sociable space. The views were amazing and being able to stroll down to the river and enjoy different beaches. There was so much on offer in Shaldon, we ran out of time to do everything in a week. Visiting Dartmoors Haytor peak one day and paddle boarding in Teinmouth was brilliant and went down really well with teenagers.

Wonderful
The title says it all. Despite torrential rain for 5 days out of 7 we have had a fantastic time. The cottage is beautiful and well equipped. The TV challenged us at first but by day 2 we had it sorted. Superb location means parking can be an issue during busy times but as we were out of half term it was fine and quite close. The owner really helped us out at times and responded promptly to key questions such as “what is the WiFi” passcode- yes we have teenagers! I’d give this 10/10

Lovely Shaldon
Overall the property was very good but lacked food storage space in the kitchen and none of us were keen on the very large mugs supplied for tea/coffee. This may sound petty but a choice of size etc would have nice. Having no tumble dryer meant drying towels was difficult as heating didn't come on to use the radiators.
The location was good and locals very friendly, parking was problematic but this is to be expected in a small village and we managed fine with two cars.

A great house in a fab location.
We loved the location of the property, the top floor is a real escape and the children loved their room. 2 bathrooms is a must with 7 and the whole process was so easy!
We had a great time and the coffee you supplied was excellent!
Thanks again.
Craig and Helen.

Great quirky property and dog friendly
Its a lovely quirky cottage which means low doorways but ceilings in rooms are high. Well suited to 3 generations of our family plus dog. Beds really comfortable. Dining area was snug but big enough to sit round table to eat or play cards. It is situated on a busy road.

Arrived and booked for next year straight away!
A fabulously designed home with great facilities. We booked our next years stay just 24hrs after arriving.
Roomy bedroom space which easily sleeps 7. Cosy lounge and dining area and perfect hard flooring throughout for the four legged friends and two legged sandy feet making cleanup easy on return from walks and beach days. As with all Shaldon cottages watching your head on some of the doorways is necessary, but it is very easy to recover from the odd bump enjoying a glass of wine listening to the gulls in the cute courtyard area.
There is a perfect grassy dog walking field with very sociable dogs and owners alike just two minutes from the front door, with heart Shaldon village and beach being less than 8 minute flat walk away.
The fresh contemporary design of the cottage alongside the attention to detail on all the amenities supplied, including cafetière, decent kitchen knives, speedy WiFi and smart TV clearly shows the owners of this property a love this home and want their guest to enjoy it as much as they do.
