Nice welcome nice food great hosts
bit of a walk to town centre but ok

Andy & Jane were very welcoming! Jane's attention to detail was exception, when she placed my breakfast plate in front of me she turned the plate around....why....so the beans are not closest to you, avoiding any embarrassing spillages. The facilities & location are both very good. I would highly recommend paying Andy & Jane a visit.

A beautiful house, immaculately clean. Jane was very helpful, friendly and couldn’t do enough to make us comfortable. So convenient for Lord street shops, with bus stop outside for wet days! Perfect for a visit to Southport. Inside market does a good variety of meals for all tastes.
Bowden Lodge was absolutely fine. Sadly Southport is looking quite run down and don’t try to find a beach- old Pontins site access is £10 and Formby NT £8.50.

Really welcoming, lovely big room's an clean.
Really loved the location as it was out of the busy stretch but close enough to walk the shops an pub's.
We'd love to stay again.
Couldn't really fault anything really but if I had to I'd of liked a later breakfast time slot. But I know it's only a husband an wife team so it's hard.

Both Jane and Andy were the perfect hosts. Room was lovely and comfortable. Home away from home. Cleanliness was outstanding. Breakfast was plentiful.
Nothing, everything was perfect.

Really nice and friendly hotel, good location as only a short walk to town, pub close by. Free parking on site. Having found it we will be staying there again next time we visit Southport
Nothing, it was first class

My sister and I received a warm welcome on arrival by Jane who is obviously a natural hostess. We were given lots of information about things to do in the area as well as information about the facilities on site. The property was absolutely spotless throughout and had a lovely cosy feel. I felt comfortable walking around barefoot within minutes. There were lots of personal touches including fresh milk for each room, lovely toiletries and generously sized fluffy towels. Breakfast was great with everything cooked to your liking and a selection of fruit, cereal, yoghurt, pastries and even homemade cake available. We have stayed in many hotels and B&Bs and thought that Jane was a genuinely passionate host, as she made every effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay and took time out to chat with us and other guests each day. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
Nothing at all!

This hotel is the perfect location for business and leisure stays. A short walk from the town centre and all the amenities it offers or jump on the bus from the stop right outside the entrance. The hosts really make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Spacious rooms with modern en suite facilities and kept spotlessly clean. Decent sized fridge with fresh milk available in your room. Freshly cooked breakfast available to order or select from a vast array of continental breakfast items, fresh fruits or traditional cereals. Lots of choice you suit all tastes. Your one and only choice when visiting Southport. Will rebook.
No faults with this property

Best B&B I have ever been to, me and my family enjoyed it very much and the breakfast was very nice, though there was somethings like fried egg that I like but, they didn’t have it, other than that, everything else was nice. The family that owned the place were very lovely and always available to help. My kids wanted to stay more😁
The location is very good. It was close to Ainsdale and Formby Beach, we had multiple places to visit and that’s a plus.

Cosy traditional style b and b...very nice breakfast(homemade chorleycakes a bonus)...bed comfortable and well stocked rooms, Inc mini Fridge..would recommend and return...
Although rooms were nice, the single bedroom didn't have a proper window to look out of(only a velux type on ceiling)...maybe this should be pointed out in the booking itinerary....but fine for a night or two....

Fantastic approach from the owners, excellent service and always smile on their face. True "feel like home".
Parking possible in front of the door, close to great restaurants.

Excellent guest house with fantastic breakfast - Jane was so delightfully hospitable!
4.7
The room was lovely and clean. The mini bar in the corridor holding the milk is great idea.
Not far to main town centre with bars and restaurants nearby.
The pier was a fair distance and needed to drive to location. Its a good hike if fit and healthy
The breakfast was cold, dry, sausages a bit rubbery. tinned mushrooms. Slow service when a few people in the dining room waiting for their breakfast at the same time.
However service from Jane the Co owner was very polite and courteous.
If I stayed again I'd not include breakfast.
I'd say a little over priced for what you get.

The Bowden Lodge is just the right place you should stay in Southport. Jane was so kind, sweet and helpful during all my stay. The rooms and the whole building is spotless clean. The bathroom was full of new equipments, no molds, no humidity. I stayed in the single room with single bed, it was a small room but did not bother me at all. The breakfast was sooo delicious and good.
Not that I did not like it and it is a major issue but water pressure in the shower is low.
4.7
Everything! Jane made us feel so welcome from the minute we stepped through the door.
The hotel is a beautiful Victorian villa, exceptionally clean throughout, comfy, lovely relaxed breakfasts, a real home from home….well, better really!
Very good value for money.
Southport itself is a beautiful town, a pleasure to explore.
Nothing!

Jane was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Being able to use lounge to meet with relatives was very helpful. Lots of choice for breakfast.
Everything very clean
Excellent location for walking into town.
Room was a bit on the small side. My husband (6 ft) found shower cubicle a bit small also.

The breakfast was excellent. The location was very good, close to town, the seafront and the park. Jane was very friendly and welcoming and provided lots of information about restaurants and the town.

Such a lovely welcome and wonderful hosts. Breakfast was superb and the local eating discount card was really useful.
Really comfy bed, great shower, would definitely stay there again if in the area. Thank you Jane and Andy.
nothing, a great stay.

Jane was so nice. She had thoughtfully catered for our dietary needs. She contacted us prior to visit to ask which milk alternative we preferred. She went as far as baking vegan cookies for us. Breakfast was lovely. I can't thank her enough for the warmth that she showed us. Bed very comfortable and we slept well.
The room was a little cold at night. But there was a blanket so had a comfortable sleep. We were busy both days and came in late and didn't mention it. So that was our fault.
