What a lovely mini break we had from start to finish, Lisa our host was so helpful, check in was smooth we were given a parking permit to park in the street, our room was on 3rd floor and Lisa help carry my very heavy bag up stair ,room was just what we wanted with a extra large very comfy bed ,there was tea, coffee and hot chocolate drinks and a added touch of chocolates too, ample shampoo, conditioner and soap in the bathroom, plenty of places to put your clothes, the room and guesthouse is spotless, Lisa also bought us a Easter egg on Sunday such a lovely thought, location is great for all amenities including Britain's smallest pub and great pub The Windmill round the corner for a Calverey, would definitely come again thanks
If I had to nit pick the view from the window is backs of houses but there was a lovely cat in the garden we hadn't came just to look out the window we would sooner be out there exploring so certainly didn't spoil our time.

Lisa is an excellent host making us feel very welcome. The room (and bed) were very comfortable. The breakfast (not included in the room rate) was excellent value and set us up for the whole day.
Limited off road parking.
Nothing to not like unless you are unfortunately averse to any of the positive points mentioned above.
4.7
Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds. Complimentary biscuits & chocolates.
Extremely pleasant host.
Nice quiet area, yet minutes from main shops.
Great value for money.
Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Nothing to dislike.

Room a little small. Bathroom small.

Very welcoming, clean, one of the best we have stayed at in southport.
We were disappointed not getting any breakfast when it clearly stated breakfast included we would never have booked. But in all it was a very nice place to stay, they were very accomadating.

Excellent location and parking facilities were a major plus. Host was very friendly and helpful. Wonderful breakfast which set us up for the rest of the day. Bed very comfortable and room kept clean.
4.7
Breakfast was just right, they were more than willing to alter your order. The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. The staff were superb.
The only double bed room was on the top floor accessed only by stairs.
4.7
Very good breakfast
The shower door did not close completely

Very friedly host, Lisa, always checking if we required anything else and happy to provide any breakfast we wanted. Very helpful with the car parking which was provede free. If we revisit Southport we hope she would have accomodation available for us.
A lot of the Street pavements in Southport seemed very dirty. Obviously this has no reflection on the Penkelie.
4.7
Clean comfortable and quiet. I enjoyed my stay very much.
Stairs.

Breakfast was well cooked, generous proportions and we'll presented. There was plenty of fresh fruit, cereals and juices.

Lovely clean and fresh property. Lisa and her Mum made us feel very welcome. perfect location for exploring the prom and Lord st areas . Many bars and restaurants nearby
As we had a street facing room. Which had a large window, we could just have done with a blind or net curtain on it as I felt occasionally people from similar properties across the street could see into our room. Apart from that the bed was very comfy and great facilities otherwise

Excellent breakfast £5 was a steal, great choices . location was central and easy to find.

It has an amazing service, the host is brilliant! The breakfast was superb, with full English and options for veggies as well. I had the homemade pineapple jam which was the best I have ever had. The room had all the amenities required, and a good comfy bed. Location is great, super close to high street (2 blocks away). There's a drive to park the car (though only space for 3 cars) and the street is quiet. Really recommend this place! We had friends who stayed at a hotel (Hotel Vincent) and they had fewer amenities and no breakfast for a higher price than what we paid for Penkelie. This place is really worth the money!
The room is rather small but on the otherhand it has everything you need, with fridge, kettle several different tea and coffee and hot chocolate. The bathroom is also small but the shower is Hot!! You just need the water to run for a few minutes.

Nothing Everything was great
4.7
In a brilliant spot
Near to the pier and shops
4.7
Location, cleanliness and comfortable
Selection of teas and coffees extensive
Minor irks were the small shower room and being on top floor but neither spoilt the weekend for us and are understandable - I would have been more upset if I had to share a bigger bathroom rather than have
my own small one
4.7
Lovely little place. Lisa was very welcoming, we arrived early but luckily our room was ready. Rooms are small but has everything you need. Lots of choice for breakfast, my husband had the full English and said it was very nice 😃. Good location. Close to the front, definitely would recommend.
