About this apartment rental
You will be delighted as you descend from street level in a quiet family neighborhood to your garden-level suite opening onto a mature wooded greenbelt along the popular Burke-Gilman trail. You will open your private entrance to find a lovely, roomy apartment, providing two comfortable bedrooms. You'll have to decide whether to sink into the comfortable sofa to enjoy the big screen TV with cable, cozy up before the floor to ceiling windows to drink in the serene view of trees, birds and Lake Washington in the distance, or cook a gourmet meal in the well-equipped kitchen. Your guests will relax and chat at the bar while you create, then you can share your bounty at the dining table. You may choose to barbecue outdoors and dine al fresco on your private deck, patio or around the crackling fire-pit.
The first bedroom has a king size bed, huge closet and wall-mounted TV. The second bedroom has an inviting queen size bed, convenient storage and a large window looking out on the wooded garden. This bedroom adjoins the full bathroom with tub and shower, separate vanity with plenty of storage.
You have your own laundry room, complete with front loader, high efficiency washer and dryer. Your suite will always be comfortable, with natural gas heat and central air conditioning. You will enjoy the gas fireplace in the living room. You and your family will always feel safe with your own security system.
Your guest suite is your home away from home, secluded-feeling but minutes away from all the amenities and activities you could want. You have your own covered parking spot steps from the stairway that takes you down three levels to your urban oasis. You will find easy street parking in the uncrowded neighborhood. You are steps away from public transportation, taking the Metro bus to the University District, Seattle Center, Northgate, Ballard or downtown in minutes. The bus will also take you to the University Station for light rail to downtown, the sports stadium area and Sea-Tac airport. You can hop on the Burke-Gilman trail for a walk, run or bike trip to Magnuson Park, University Village, the University of Washington campus, or points beyond.
Special note: We have recently completed the second unit in our home for rental, now available! Please check out VRBO #3930539, https://www.vrbo.com/3930539, if you need space for more guests.

Upon arrival, Ron met us and gave a walk through of the location. Everything was clean, updated, and well stocked with everything we could need. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly, no worries with finding parking, and there was a trail within walking distance. Kid friendly as well. We would definitely rent again!

This was our first experience using VRBO, I gotta say, Ron (the host) knocked it out of the park! The expectations have been set and the bar is high!
Not only was the unit absolutely beautiful, it felt just like home! The host has absolutely everything you could need or wa t while traveling away from home! It was much better than staying in a hotel! We will definitely be using this rental again in the future if it is available!
You will love Ron! He is incredibly warm and welcoming when you arrive at the property... Even when your flight is over an hour late and you are getting in after 10:30pm! Talk about patient! We really appreciate everything Ron did for us while we stayed at his rental. Thanks again Ron!

We loved everything about our 3 week stay in this unit. Exceptionally clean with comfortable furniture and every item a traveler might need. The yard is beautifully landscaped and lovely to behold from both inside and out. Ron is a wonderful host who makes you feel more like a house guest than a renter. We hope to make this our home away from home on future visits to Seattle.

We enjoyed a week at Ron's rental. It was very comfortable, fully equipped and full of all we needed. The back yard space is lovely and on our last night we enjoyed the fire pit and smores kit provided by Ron. Our daughter loved it. We were pretty busy, but wished we had more time to enjoy the yard. We have stayed at many rental properties over the years and this one we enjoyed the most. A definite comfortable oasis! We would definitely rent it again, if we ever go back to Seattle. The Metropolitan Market is not far away and we enjoyed some good lunches at Uncle Lee's Chinese food in the little village area close by. Lee treated us very well! Ron was friendly and available if needed, he was not intrusive. The only drawback is, if you have noisy neighbors upstairs, we did a couple nights, but we had a sound machine so it wasn't unbearable...bring earplugs, just in case. Thanks Ron for a wonderful home away from home on our Seattle trip. Our 10 year old daughter loved having her own room on vacation! She's usually delegated to the couch sleeper, don't think she'll want to go back to that! Ron created a nice oasis from the city bustle and we appreciated it when we got back to the rental from a full day. We would definitely recommend this rental! Thanks for all!

This is a great little 2BR apartment with a full kitchen, keurig with coffee and fully stocked condiment drawer in the fridge. There is an outdoor grill and fire pit for summertime in a shady thoughtfully landscaped, tree-filled yard.
The only negative was very loud neighbors on the 2nd floor apartment above us (Friday night party til late) which kept us up late.
Note, this apartment is on the ground floor, down 3 flights of stairs, so not appropriate for folks who have difficulty negotiating stairs

Wonderfully appointed and immaculate! A quiet retreat close to the university. Every amenity for a comfortable stay was provided. We slept soundly in the comfortable beds! The host was available for and questions or concerns. Check in and out were easy. Highly recommend! Would stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay! Property is spotless and everything you can think of, is provided. Great communication with the owner and he was so helpful. We would highly recommend this and will be staying again.

This place was over the top clean and well appointed. It lacked for nothing. The owners were extremely responsive and helpful. We would recommend this place to anyone without hesitation. One caveat, there are a lot of stairs to the lower unit so anyone with mobility issues might be challenged.

Wow, this place is amazing. Ron, the owner, takes great pride in creating a welcoming environment both inside and out. The bathroom and kitchen were thoughtfully stocked, the fire pit and s'mores kit are a great touch, and the mature plants on the patio are divine!

First time in Seattle and it could not have been better. We loved the home and the neighborhood we were in. The house is beautiful and so relaxing. The outdoor space is stunning and it backs up to a great trail. We didnt have time to go on the trail next time, but plan to be back. One friend decided this area is where she wants to move to next. The house feels very zen, from beautiful side tables to the art on the walls. The beds were so comfortable and we all loved the pillows. Everyone wished we had more time to spend. One of the best VRBO's I have stayed at

The property was so fully stocked I could have brought less! Razors, full size soap bars, tooth brush & paste, hair dryer, laundry detergent, straightener, coffee, tea, s’mores kit for my children (which they loved). I could go on. The hosts are so gracious. Ron greeted us when we arrived and gave us a walkthrough.

Three family members (my sister, her husband and I) stayed during our brother's hospitalization at the UW. It was a peaceful place to return to each evening. Ron was a gracious host and the apartment was so well-equipped and immaculate. We are all 60+ and for some the access stairs might be an issue, but we were fine. The privacy of the yard provided a haven of beauty.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect and the backyard is amazing. We enjoyed a morning walk on the nearby biking bath and upon return had coffee on the cozy deck at the house enjoying the view of the backyard. The house is a short walk to a nearby grocery store (which has great bagels and soups). In general, the neighborhood is beautiful to walk around: it's hilly, quite, and provides great views of Mt. Rainier. The house is close to UWashington and the University Village. We enjoyed riding bikes on the nearby trail and around Seattle. The house is also close to several bus stops and a short Uber/Lift ride from the 1 Line metro line; so easy to get to where ever you need.
Inside the house was very cozy and had everything we needed and more. The owner(s) are very thoughtful and even had extra toothbrushes and razors. The kitchen has everything. The owner(s) greeted us and showed around the property; he was also available anytime to answer questions. The backyard is amazing and has a grill and a fire pit, which makes it for a wonderful evening, if you are not out and about in Seattle. I would definitely come back and would highly recommend it to others.

This is our second time staying here - and we loved it just as much the second time as the first. The location next to the Burke Gilman trail allowed us to cheer on the half marathoners from the backyard - we were there to watch our daughter run the race. Everything has been considered and is impeccably kept. Thank you for another lovely stay.

This apartment was perfect for our stay in Seattle, with easy access to UW and great food/shopping. Ron was an excellent host, and the place was well-stocked and clean.

We had the most wonderful stay, and Ron is the most gracious host. The property is absolutely spotless. Everything is updated, and the kitchen is fully stocked. In fact, we had our Thanksgiving dinner there and had everything we needed. There are so many wonderful extra touches, like coffee, condiments, extra treats, just so many great extra little touches. The beds are extremely comfortable. One thing I loved was how comfortable and inviting the living room area was.
The outdoor area is just beautiful, with a grill and a wonderful fire pit. The view from the living room area is calming and beautiful, with a view of trees.
The location couldn’t be more perfect for us, as we were visiting with our UW student, and it’s a six minute drive from the University district, yet you feel like your miles away in the woods. We hope to make this our new Seattle tradition, and plan to book this property for all future stays. And a huge thank you to Ron, who is such a wonderful host!

Could not have been better. Clean, well-equipped, great communication. If you like to exercise, one of the best trails in the area is literally in the backyard. Nice neighborhood and very close to UW, UW Hospital and Seattle Children's Hospital. 5 stars.

Wonderful apartment!!
Great to be close to family living nearby, too.

We were greeted by our host immediately upon arrival, in spite of the fact that it was late evening. Once we introduced ourselves, the host provided a succinct overview of the premises and its features, along with helpful instructions on using the fire pit and barbecue. The setting of this home is at once serene, as well as inviting. The home is meticulously maintained, the environment is so peaceful inside and out. The beds are exceedingly comfortable…. We just don’t have one complaint, with the sole exception that our stay came to a tranquil end. We certainly intend a return trip to stay at this locale.

We loved staying at Ron’s condo for a week. It had everything we needed with a great floor plan. Felt very private but close to everything in NE Seattle- UW, Children’s Hospital, University Village, lots of parks and great neighborhood restaurants.
The back yard area was an extra bonus and we had enough nice weather to enjoy the grill and firepit a few times.
You can tell the owner really cares for his property and his guests. Truly a perfect experience and I will definitely stay here again when I’m in town.

Definitely the cleanest rental we’ve ever experienced. Located in a quiet, safe neighborhood that’s backed up to a trail. Very close in proximity to Husky Stadium. Unit is on the ground floor of a three story, top floor is street level so there are steps to go down. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Aloha!

This property is amazing. It is impeccably clean and has all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. Ron has thought of everything in addition to being a phenomenal host. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Seattle!

My husband and I have stayed in many VRBO properties around the country (and world), and this one was by far the most enjoyable. The apartment itself was comfortably and thoughtfully furnished, with tons of unexpected amenities (a lavish supply of coffees, a basket of Seattle specialty chocolates, a complete apothecary in the bathroom). But the best part is the tranquil back yard, which borders on Seattle's famous Burke-Gilman trail. This outdoor space has a small dining table on the deck (perfect for breakfast), a larger dining table on the spacious patio (perfect for barbeque dinners), and a fire pit (perfect for after-dinner relaxing). The host is more than accommodating and it's great that he lives upstairs, ready to be helpful on matters large and small. Overall, this well-named property definitely earns a five-star rating.

From the accommodations to the fine details, Ron truly thought of everything a person might need to make their stay comfortable. We appreciated the king-sized bed, the well-equipped kitchen, the amazing backyard oasis, and the SMORES! We can’t wait to get back!

Beautiful apartment in a very quiet neighborhood. Great backyard and fire pit. Would definitely stay here again.

This is my second time staying here, with my elderly parents, while visiting my son who attends UW. It is so comfortable and peaceful, in an extremely quiet and safe neighborhood. With being only about 5-10 minutes from campus, it's close enough, yet away from the hustle and bustle surrounding the campus. The host, Ron, lives in the unit above and goes out of his way to make us feel welcomed and have a comfortable stay. There were cold sodas and beers in the fridge upon our arrival, as well as a smores kit for the backyard fire pit. The unit is down some stairs, but my parents who are in their mid 80's had no problem with them. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking to stay in the area, especially while visiting a student at UW.

The title says it all. Ron has created a little piece of heaven on earth. Ron is also incredibly kind and helpful. Just be aware that there are about 20 steps down to the space. If stairs are not a problem for you, I can't think of a better, more comfortable place you could stay. Thank you, Ron, for making us so welcome.

We loved staying here and hope to come back one day. Everything in the listing is accurate. Great, safe neighborhood with parking under the carport, steps away from the entrance.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay @ Hawthorne Hills in NE Seattle. This property was the perfect spot to spend 2 days in Seattle! From Greenlake, to the Arboretum to downtown at the Space Needle/Pike's Market - this spot felt like a little hideaway close to everything in the city. Ron was an incredible host and took time to show us around and ensured we had all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed the design and layout and found the space perfect for our family of 4. We loved the beautiful backyard and it was very apparent that this space was well-loved and cared for to create this little retreat! We sincerely enjoyed our time @ Hawthorne Hills!

Perfect location for me, my son, and his friend to visit UW and also easy access to other Seattle sites. Not far from the light rail which we rode to a Sounders game. Property is lovely with access to a backyard with a fire pit for s’mores (ingredients provided!) which the teenagers enjoyed. We would stay here again when visiting Seattle. Ron was so welcoming and accommodating. Great place.
