There are three large bedrooms, all with sea views, private decks, full baths, and air conditioning. A king-size bed and rattan furnishings with a Victorian flair grace the master bedroom along with a private deck. The two guest bedrooms have king beds easily converted to comfortable twins and private decks.
The villa is tastefully furnished throughout in contemporary tropical rattan, teak and eclectic accents from around the world. Vaulted cypress-beamed ceilings, natural Scabos travertine floor tiles and Hi-speed overhead fans accent the great room, kitchen, and two upper bedrooms.
The fully-equipped gourmet kitchen includes up to date appliances, an electric ceramic top range/convection & conventional oven, microwave, dishwasher, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer with ice maker/dispenser, whole house triple filtered and UV water systems, 'steaming hot' water dispenser, blender, coffee maker, bread maker, and espresso/cappuccino machine. A fully-automatic stainless steel gas grill and outdoor dining area for dinner under the stars is a few steps away on a trellised patio.
The pergolas on the brand new pool deck and dining deck have been completely redone, affording even more filtering of the sun.
The pool and hot tub are surrounded by an expansive new coral tiled deck, cantilevered into the cliff on the west side of the property for maximum views and breeze. You can’t ask for better views than at Andante! The house worked great for my family and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was hot the week we were there but the bedrooms stayed nice and cool. Luciah and Jay were excellent property managers and were there for us whenever we needed. All around great vacation on St John and Andante

We had an amazing two week stay that covered family and friends. Andante by the Sea was beautifully situated for glorious sunrises and spectacular sunsets. The home was well appointed and the property manager was super responsive. I highly recommend this gorgeous property.

We had a really great time at Andante. Beautiful house with an amazing view. We came with 3 fairly young kids in tow and the house was perfect for them too. The place had absolutely everything we could need- including towels, a pack n play and a very powerful blender for much needed pina coladas. Luciah, our contact on the island, was incredibly helpful and very responsive. It was an amazing trip. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

We have been visiting St John for 30+ years and have stayed in a variety of accommodations. Andante is one of, if not the best. The view is literally from sunrise to sunset. We were lucky to be there during a full moon so we saw sunrise with moonset, and moonrise with sunset. The house is clean, well supplied and just as pictured. We are a retired couple and we travelled with our son, his wife and 2 preteen daughters. The upstairs bedrooms each have their own balcony and the downstairs bedroom opens to a covered patio that provides shade during the day. Our granddaughters enjoyed the pool after our days at the beach. There is a hot tub which we rarely used; when the the sun is hot the attraction is not there.
The drive to Andante can be a challenge if you are not used to St John roads. It is only partially paved and a 4x4 Jeep is a must. However, this is not a negative, because the good views on St John are the reward for a challenging drive. Despite the drive the location is ideal. It provides the amazing view while being close to Cruz Bay, Starfish Market and a short drive to the North shore beaches.
The owners were very helpful not only with details regarding Andante, but about St John in general. Since we are familiar with St John, Luciah the manager met us at the house but she will meet you at the ferry if necessary. We are returning to St John next year with another son and his family and the only reason we are not returning to Andante is that it was already booked. We hope to return in the future.

We had a wonderful week at St. John’s. Andante was perfect- beautiful views from the three decks, loved the salt water pool, gorgeous gardens, hot tub has great view of sunset, kitchen has everything you need.

This was our 3rd stay on St John, but our first at Andante. This property was hands down the best experience we have had. The cleanliness was spot on, all advertised amenities were in working order (a first for us with a VRBO property). It was super convenient being so close to Cruz Bay. All our prior trips we stayed in Coral bay. Rich and Marilyn were super responsive throughout our stay, and the Property manager Luciah was always in contact with me to inform us of house maintenance. I wish we could have stayed longer, and feel extremely grateful to have this a once in a lifetime to stay at a property like this on St John.

Best week ever
100% as advertised and pictures are the real deal. Excellent house and amenities and it was an unbelievable week of beach hopping via car and boat. Proximity of house to stores and restaurants is perfect. Grill and kitchen setup was great to make meals on site. Pool and hot tub setup is outstanding. We will be back

Andante is beautifully located at the top of Iguana rd/Hawkhill which overlooks 2 beautiful bays. It's a short ride (about 10 min) from Cruz Bay and only about 5 min from the local grocery. We took a trip as 2 couples and stayed for a week in this lovely villa. The gorgeous entry is lined with tropical plants and beautiful stone, well lit for evening/night returns. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you may need for your stay. The outside decks get a great breeze to allow you to relax a little longer in the island sun and soak up the unobstructed views. On the second tier deck the pool has shaded areas for the loungers and the night hot tub under the stars is an experience that shouldn't be missed. The owners provide 2 portable Bluetooth speakers, pool towels, and floats for a great hang by the pool after a day at the beach or you can sneak down to the quiet lower level for a shaded nap in the hammock that's big enough for 2.
The ONLY thing we would change is renting a jeep next time, Marilyn recommended it but we love the taxi experience so much we opted out. She was right in her recommendation and we would have been able to explore more had we had our own vehicle. It's also a must as the dumpsters are not "across the street", they're across from the grocery as you head into town.
The property owners are so kind and knowledgeable and have really thought of everything. The local property management company they use is also committed to providing a great vacation with the right touch of service without too much during your stay. We notified them of a concern about a jet in the hot tub around 7pm and a repair person was there in less than 24 hours to fix it!
Read the book and read it again if you stay as we found more interesting info about halfway through, the fans, the laundry, the games and so much more. The skylights allow so much beautiful sunlight in the home during the day we rarely used any lights and found ourselves turning off switches that weren't on because it was so well lit.

Andante by the Sea is 5 stars all around. Great owners, fantastic communications, helpful staff when checking in, and outstanding views all around! We loved the location at the top of the hill with great views of Hart's Bay, Chocolate Hole, and St. Thomas lights. You are close to Cruz Bay but far enough away for peace and quiet. We highly recommend this place and would not hesitate to book again.

Fabulous Fall Getaway
Six of us came to St. John to escape our stressful lives and celebrate our friendship. It was perfect. The hosts could not have been more wonderful - very engaged before the trip and discretely checking in on us during it. The house is beautiful and the Chocolate Hole area was a great location. Cannot wait to return!

Pure Bliss
This property is absolutely stunning! Close to town and convenient to the beaches. It was great to go to the beach for the day and head back to the house and get in the pool and jacuzzi. The owners, Marilyn and Rich, are great to talk to and went above and beyond to make sure our vacation was great and we had all we needed. I HIGHLY recommend renting this beautiful villa!

Pure bliss at Andante
My family of four- 2 children and 2 adults- has a wonderful time at Andante! The pictures can’t do the views justice... you have to see for yourself... they are amazing! I miss them already! The home was perfect for our family and the kids loved the pool in the afternoons after a day at the beach. The owners, Marilyn and Rich, were great and very good at answering any questions we had during the booking process, etc. We can’t wait to return someday!

We had a wonderful time at Adante and St. John in general. The house has everything we needed for a perfect trip! It fit our group of 3 couples perfectly. The views are so amazing from the house that it makes it hard to leave the house! Thank you for sharing your house with us! We will be back!

Thanksgiving Week
Marilyn and Rich. Your place is just beautiful. We enjoyed your place so much. Was very relaxing. We never used the air in the East bedroom. We had a wonderful breeze all night long!! Used the pool almost every day even for a quick dip. My daughter loved to go down to the shore to find shells!! Hopefully we will be back again!!

Relaxing, incredible view, DREAM VACATION HOME.
We rented Andante by the Sea to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I could not have imagined a nicer place to celebrate. The view was out of this world, the amenities were perfect, the view was out of this world, the villa was in perfect order, (no signs of a hurricane here), the pool and hot tub were so relaxing. Did I mention, the view was out of this world? Ha.
I could not provide a higher recommendation. Trust me, GO!!

The Total Package
The Property owners and managers were wonderful to deal with before and during our stay. The property is very well kept and appointed with everything needed for our stay. The views from the property are spectacular. You are close to Cruz Bay, but not too close, and yet the property feels quite private. The house design sits perfectly to allow trade winds to blow through the house. Air conditioners were nice for the bedrooms while sleeping. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this property to others.

When Can We Go Back?
Part of me doesn't want to share any details about this amazing property. From my initial contact with Marilyn and Rich, I knew this was the place for my family. They were so helpful in answering all our questions. From the time we arrived, we felt like we were at a resort. We loved the welcome basket, the robes in each room, all the different types of coolers, and the pool floats. We were also super appreciative of the beach umbrella and wonderful backpack chairs. I am not one to like to cook on vacation. However, with a kitchen and a view like this one, we stayed in and cooked two dinners. The kitchen was so well stocked and the grill is in a perfect location on the deck.
We loved coming home from the beach and swimming at the pool and sitting in the hot tub. We loved all the different places to sit outside and especially appreciate how there were some shady spots to sit as well. The set up of the house is simply perfect and we had a constant breeze that was delightful. We walked down the path to Hart Bay a few times. It was one of our favorite things about the house. We found so much sea glass and many other treasures. We even saw an octopus at low tide. It is definitely a good idea to wear sneakers as you hike the path. If someone is not used to hiking and exercising, it could be a challenge. Favorite Restaurants for dinner Morgan's Mango and Ocean 362. Favorite Restaurants for lunch: Aqua Bistro and Skinny Legs. Things we would remember for next time (hopefully next summer), portable speaker to bring to the beaches, a few more thin beach towels. There are wonderful thick beach towels provided at the house. They were perfect for beaches in close proximity to the car (e.g., Maho) They were a little heavy for hiking to more remote beaches (e.g., Lemon Cay) Snorkeling at Maho and Little Lamshur was amazing! We saw so many turtles, a moray eel, a black tip shark, and many fish! Since we have returned home, there have been many times when we say aloud to each other, "When can we go back?" Thank you so much Marilyn and Rich! We are so grateful St. John continues to rebuild and we can't wait to return.

Andante is a Jewel!
My husband and I and college age daughter just returned from 10 unbelievable days on St John and Andante by The Sea. Andante is in absolute pristine condition after Irma/Maria. We were blown away by the views of Hart Bay /Rendevous Bay when we first entered Andante and walked out onto the deck. The house is perfectly sited to receive the glorious tradewinds from the east. My husband and I stayed in the "Master" bedroom but the villa actually has 3 true masters with king beds and ensuite baths. We only used the top floor bedrooms but I asked to preview the bottom floor bedroom for future visits and it is spacious and lovely. The bottom story of the house also gets the easterly tradewinds. My daughter and I had fabulous massages on the lower deck with the tradewinds blowing but shaded. There is also a wonderful hammock on the lower deck which is a great place to lounge and read and nap. The bedrooms all have AC but I never used the AC in the east bedroom. The breezes at night(and all day!) were wonderful and we were lulled to sleep by the sounds of the wind and the ocean waves from Hart Bay. The bedrooms are all very private, with super comfy beds,the two top ones being separated by the great room. The house is beautifully decorated and was immaculately clean upon our arrival. It is fully equipped with everything you will need!Great kitchen! We opened the windows and doors every morning in the great room and kitchen and let the tradewinds blow through.(great screens in all windows and doors though we never saw one mosquito) The high speed ceiling fans are also great and we were never hot in the main part of the house. The satellite tv worked great and we were able to watch World Cup Soccer games while getting ready to go to the beach. The upstairs deck is large and has views east to Ditleff point and west over Chocolate Hole. You really DO get sunrise and sunset views from this villa! We watched the sunset every night from the brand new beautiful large hot tub and expanded new pool deck and sunrise from master deck. The pool is a great size and has beautiful new blue tile edging. Perfect for afternoon swims after returning from the beach. Easy 5 minute drive from Cruz Bay. Loved every minute at Andante. Marilyn and Rich(owners) were wonderful to work with and have obviously put a lot of love into this very beautiful villa. Megan and Dan, property managers were fabulous and responsive to any question. Can't wait to return to Andante!

We loved Andante. The views were amazing and we had everything we needed for 3 couples to stay comfortably for a week. The hot tub and pool were gorgeous and we really enjoyed having the grill for dinner 'at home' a couple of nights. Would highly recommend. For families or couples wishing to have privacy and comfort!

A PERFECT Island Retreat
Our family (including our 3 year old granddaughter) stayed at this beautiful home for Christmas this year. At first I was a bit skeptical about leaving Home for the holidays, but, ANDANTE felt like home. Rich and Marilyn, the owners made sure we had everything we could ever need. They also checked in with us during the week.
I was able to contact them at anytime, and was always received with friendliness and a prompt answer to our questions. The decks, upper and lower, have spectacular views from all angles. The saltwater pool is wonderful, there is a gate on the top deck that prevents young children from going down to the pool area, which was a fantastic safety issue for our piece of mind. In fact, I cannot say enough about this piece of heaven.
We will most definitely be returning and we HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants to escape and yet can be in Cruz Bay in minutes. THANKYOU Rich and Marilyn for sharing your beautiful home!

Wonderful Stay at Andante by the Sea
Having previously stayed at a St John resort and various condos, we decided to try out a villa. This house was wonderful! The amazing view, clean house, and proximity to Cruz Bay was most enjoyable and appreciated. This house worked very well for our family of four and we would absolutely return. We have no hesitation or reservation to recommend Andante by the Sea to others. We fully agree with all of the positive comments from previous reviews. Wonderful house with a beautiful view. Beautiful, stunning, awesome place to relax!
Marilyn and Rich - your home is absolutely beautiful! Our family had the most relaxing and perfect vacation! The house was wonderfully equipped and had all the amenities one may need, from cooking on the grill to preparing morning breakfast! We loved the lazy days by the pool and the constant Tradewind breezes. Nights were star filled while relaxing in the hot tub. Thank you for sharing your house - we could not of had a more perfect vacation!

Paradise on earth - fabulous views!
This was our first visit to St. John, and we already know we will definitely be back! Andante is a wonderful place - the views are 180+ degrees and absolutely gorgeous. The property owners, Rich and Marilyn care a great deal about the experience of those who stay, and it shows at every step in the process. The villa is decorated like a home, not a rental. There were great supplies for beach goers (chairs, coolers, blankets, beach bags) and also some snorkeling gear and pool floats.
Crystal from the property management company met us at the dock and escorted us to the villa. Driving on St. John is very intimidating at first, especially the last 100ft or so to Andante (very steep), but don't let that bother you. At first the steepness really bothered me, but by the second day, I was a pro at getting around. Be sure to rent a jeep - don't mess around with a car.
The kitchen is well appointed for cooking at the villa. I recommend ordering from Ronnie's pizza if you arrive after dark and need to locate some dinner. Proximity to grocery stores was great (Starfish market and St. John's market) and make sure you don't miss the opportunity to pick up sandwiches from Sam and Jack's - not your ordinary sandwiches. They also have great meals for takeout, as well as some awesome meatballs you can add to any home cooked pasta dishes.
We have never been so sad to have a vacation come to an end. Andante (and St. John) felt like home and we will be back soon!

We Can't Wait To Go Back!
My husband and I just returned from an amazing week at Andante with two other couples. I chose this property because of the views, the opportunity for privacy, and the three separate en suite bathrooms. Between the photos and the reviews, I knew that Andante was the place for us. From the time we were greeted at the ferry dock by one of the property managers until our departure, our vacation couldn't have been more perfect. While we loved spending time at the pool and hot tub, we also enjoyed venturing out to Cruz Bay and the many breathtaking beaches. Andante is extremely well-maintained and well managed. I have booked through VRBO/HomeAway for many vacations over the years and Andante might be my all-time favorite. I do have a few tips for those who book Andante in the future: Pine Peace Market in Cruz Bay has the best prices by far on both beer and wine, do yourselves a favor and book at least one "dinner in" with Passion Fruits Chefs, take a good book down to the lower level to enjoy the hammock, and spend as much time as possible taking in the beauty of St. John.

Amazing!
Our family of four spent a fabulous week at Andante swimming in the pool and enjoying the amazing views as we relaxed on the deck. The villa was clean and well maintained. St. John is a magical place and Andante by the Sea was just as magical. Highly recommend to stay here!
