Location quiet and remote...cottage over 3 floors and very well equipped modern and comfortable
Needed more help with the working of the TV and would have been useful to have some local planning of access to river etc...
4.3
Good location with superb views. Local pubs and restaurants were welcoming and good. There are excellent walks in the area. Sadly, the weather was poor and limited our activities a little.
The house itself was comfortable enough and reasonably well-equipped.
The decoration of the house was generally rather tired, and in places patched up roughly. Some of the furniture and kitchen equipment was rather well worn. There was no coffee jug or cafetiere.
4.3
Beautiful location, spacious accomodation, friendly owner
Treacherous road, could do with some maintenance
4.3
The property was lovely and in a perfect location.
I don’t have anything negative to say about the property.
4.3
The cottage was very clean and in a great location
The fact the key code didn't work when we got there and when we finally got hold of the owner she said booking.com had given us the wrong code and this had happened before .
This needs to be sorted , it didn't start the holiday well 🙄

The cottage is wonderfully situated. I was just what we needed for two adults and a teenager stopping over for a couple of nights close to the Forest of Dean. I can recommend it. If the weather would have allowed it we could have had a BBQ just out at the back where the forest paths start. Walking distance to a great Ye Old Ferrie Inn which is also highly recommendable.
I cannot complain as it met our expectations for our short stay.
4.3
Wonderful to be able to go walking for the day straight from the front door. Lovely to hear the running river through the open window. Very peaceful. The pull ferry was fun.
The single beds (especially the one on the left) were incredibly creaky. Not so bad perhaps if kids are sleeping in them, but for adults they were very loud and kept waking us up in the night when we turned over.
4.3
It was a fantastic location by the river, with adequate parking and beautiful views to wake up to. It was perfectly clean and the bedding was really comfortable.
I would have like a larger sofa, to be able to sit comfortably with my partner on.
4.3
nice views comfy beds
we stayed over Christmas. So as it was dark from early evening we stayed in. Apple TV was terrible. I rang the owner who explained how to use it. A lot of what we tried to watch had to be paid for. Someone had left their Netflix logged in so we did use that to watch films. couldn’t get ordinary tv so had to mirror bbc i player from my phone. would be helpful to have instructions for the tv and Apple TV so tec phobics like myself could understand.

Amazing location.

Absolutely stunning location, lovely for walking and also as a base for exploring the area. Gardens and surrounding area are bliss, so tranquil.
The cottage is decorated nicely and furnished and fully equipped with everything you could need. Plenty of towels etc.
Double bed was very comfortable.
Great communication from the host.
The creaking stairs as mentioned in most reviews. The water pressure isn't great, if the shower head over the bath is lifted, the water goes cold and drops off. Found the downstairs shower also temperamental, maybe a water pump could solve this.
Personal choice, we found the sofas difficult to get up of.
4.3
The location was stunning, and the house was very comfortable. The walks for dog owners is super handy, various walks right on your doorstep. If you’re able to find it, look for King Arthur’s cave!
the water pressure in the bath upstairs was awful, felt like camping but did the job in the end.
directions for the place are out dated.
once you pass the butterfly show carry on driving right up the hill, (my paddocks hotel as that’s not the place) and carry on until you reach the bottom and it’s on the right hand side.
4.3
A lovely bolt hold to investigate the area from, stunning views and fabulous walks and leisure activities on its doorstep. Three pubs with fantastic food and good value for money, a stones throw away, one on the same side of the river, two on the other. Access across the river via x2 hand pulled ferry's or a suspension bridge a mile and a half walk down river. We were in the property for four days and never once used the car, but saw so much through walking, cycling and canoeing.
0The Wye Not Inn, it is both dirty and inhospitable towards those who aren't local. They don't do food, but would not have eaten there if they did.

Friendly staff, beautiful location.
4.3
The location and it had everything we needed.
The second flight of stairs were very noisy to walk up and down on so getting up during the night to go down to the kitchen woke my friend on the first night …..after that I avoided going down to make a cup of tea when I couldn’t sleep.
4.3
Not suitable for disabled. 2 sets of stairs

Great location for exploring the Wye Valley.
Walks from the door along the Wye Valley to Monmouth or via hand pulled ferry to Symonds Yat Rock
Local pub within 15 minutes walk
Spacious accommodation for up to 4 adults
The location is great for exploring this part of the Wye Valley, but probably not ideal if your focus is the wider area. It takes at least 10 minutes drive down narrow roads to reach the property. In peak summer time traffic, I expect the journey takes much longer.
4.3
Stunning location less than 5 minutes walk from the beautiful river wyre so peaceful, great walks, our second time staying at the property it has everything we needed plenty of room gorgeous outlook comfortable bed .
4.3
The location, communal gardens and the view
Oven unuseable due being filthy. Caked in grease. Fridge and freezer clean inside but rusty. Toilet seat downstairs broken. Could only use toilet if the lid was removed manually.
4.3
Location was brilliant, lovely views and fab walks all around.
Cottage was warm and cosy, great location.
Some maintenance required to the cottage. Toilet seat broken, no lock on bathroom door, stairs very very creaky and noisy.
4.3
The local river walk(s) are lovely. The garden at the location is very well kept and spacious.
Access to location is tricky, not very easy to find. Wye Valley is quite claustrophobic. Pub/food prices in location high.
4.3
A beautiful location with very nice views across the River Wye. Fantastic woodland walks literally on the doorstep can not recommend it enough. A very well presented house with great facilities my partner and I had a wonderful time.
Nothing springs to mind.
4.3
What a fantastic holiday we had! The location was gorgeous, from the living room we could see the beautiful limestone cliffs, and just about see the river Wye through the trees. We were able to go for walks straight from the property. The property was very spacious and tidy, whilst lying in bed in the morning I could hear woodpeckers and many birds singing, every one was extremely friendly!
