Didn’t have breakfast.
Location was fine for where I needed to be.
Bathroom needs decorating
3.7
Location was perfect for what we needed. Comfortable bed. Staff were accommodating despite being short staffed.
Breakfast was disorganised. Toast took ages. Only instant coffee provided, we weren’t informed that we could have ordered a latte for example. Juice not filled very promptly and the bar staff was one person who was expected to run all aspects of the hotel, bar largely unattended.

Full English was brilliant
Severe lack of cereals
3.7
The cooked breakfast was good, could of had more variety for the continental breakfast though.
I couldn’t stand up in the shower as it had a sloping roof and I’m over 6 foot tall.
Thought there was a restaurant but all we could have were bar meals in the evenings.
3.7
Room wasn’t particularly clean and the shower didn’t work.
3.7
Loved the quaintness of the hotel.
Mattress was just a little too soft for me.
3.7
The room was lovely with lots of character and the staff were welcoming.
The breakfasts though lovely weren’t hot enough and the breakfast bar wasn’t stocked brilliantly.
Also there was a lot of other diners complaining about their experience. We didn’t complain as the breakfast did still taste delicious but would have been perfect hot.
3.7
Beautiful old building with lots of character
Room not attached to the hotel, cobwebs in room, shower was poor with broken tap, sink was incredibly slow to drain
3.7
We didn't pay extra for breakfast but all the staff was polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
3.7
Parking provided - lots of space.
Good choice of breakfast, freshly cooked.
No toiletries in the bathroom, make sure you bring your own!
3.7
Peaceful
Parking good
Wi fi
First day small things weren’t right; light in wardrobe didn’t work, bathroom shaver light didn’t work, toaster was broken first morning, no spoons at breakfast, no glasses in room for drinks or bathroom.
Didn’t like the fact that we had to pay upfront AND leave our card details! Why?
3.7
Location
The bed was extremely uncomfortable and I didn’t sleep well at all and woke up with a Back ache
3.7
Well located - Full of character - good food
Room was a bit tired
3.7
Lots of character and friendly staff!
Nothing to report
3.7
Food and bar and staff good
Room needs attention
3.7
The historic building was OK and had character.
Location was good.
Good parking
Very poor quality breakfast
Muffins were stale, croissants and pasties were over cooked.
Could do with coffee machine
Teapots, more choice on milk
Not set up properly
Juice containers were dirty
Limited restaurant menu
Very poor atmosphere in the bar
Not enough staff
House keeping only came in to drop clean towels off.
No cleaning done.
We were in a dog friendly room,
Where the door stuck on carpet and couldn't get in properly.
We paid for superior room ended up with double..
With attention to detail and a good cook could be a very nice place.

We loved the pre historic look and feel of the hotel, well modernised, great decor and excellent comfy bed
When we had our meal Sun afternoon, we felt service could have been slightly better. We had to flag a waitress down to ask to order dessert, but otherwise excellent food and good service
3.7
Convenient for our visit with family
Basic facilities were not working. Only booked the room but tv was not working.
3.7
Staff was friendly nice place
The industry fans which lead into the kitchen right above our the bedroom was told they would be switch off at 8pm but was switched off about 10pm not happy then at 7am fans was switched but on
3.7
How relaxing and quiet the rooms were.
The fact that if you book with booking.com you don't get breakfast included.
3.7
Lovely listed building
Clean and tidy
Staff so helpful
Ample parking
Not much to do around the hotel without a car but that is obviously not the hotels fault
There is nothing not to like about this hotel
3.7
The bed was comfy enough
On arrival there were almost no staff. One staff me ever to manage the bar and the check in. Check in took far too long as the reception was not visible from the bar. None of systems were working.
All carpets in the hotel were unclean and clearly had not been hoovered in a long time. It does not appear the bedrooms are ever thoroughly cleaned.
There was mould in the bathroom and hairs from previous guests.
As I was unable to check in properly due to lack of staff I was called at past 11pm by staff members who asked for my card details for the room.
It’s extremely badly organised and an unclean hotel. I would not recommend it stay again.

Fantastic old building , friendly staff, good food and drink, safe parking.

Dinner breakfast
Comfort chair to sit on to sit on in your room window could not shut light on on outside all night could not get television to work apart from that to bad
3.7
Not much at all i should have been upgraded due to all these issues but was NOT!
My room had all afternoon and ever issues with the TV also the breakfast was not acceptable it took me 45 minutes to receive my breakfast so this hotel needs more kitchen staff!!.........the tv must have been like this for days not working too!!....so alot of money paid for a stay that was not that good at all
There was no pastries on the breakfast table and too the Yogurts not replenished at all
3.7
The room was outstanding. The breakfast was very nice
A special shout out for Becky on reception and everywhere. What an outstanding advert for your hotel. Very helpful and polite young lady
Having to Leave
3.7
We had a very comfortable room on the quiet side of the stable block, & on the ground floor as we requested, with our car close by.
The cooked breakfast was very nice, but we felt it was very expensive for what we got. Many establishments these days give Danish pastries, fruit compote, plain yoghurt, unlimited toast etc. We got one round of toast with the fried meal & the menu said additional toast was £1.50 for two rounds.
We didn't have dinner, so can't comment on that.
3.7
History, people, friendliness
3.7
We were advised by another guest not to eat after they had a bad dinner experience. So we decided to go out for breakfast instead
Room was very small. Carpets were sticky and wet, Bed wasn't made properly. Toilet seat needs replacing
3.7
I booked a twin room and did not get it I was with a friend who had driven me for four hours we were
told we would have to pay a further £90 pounds for a twin room when the booking with you is a twin room
we were given a small put up bed this was not right the hotel say it was your fault we would like a refund
as above we booked a twin room and were given a double bed they told me to pay a further£90 pounds
to be given a twin room it shows I booked a twin room they said it was your mistake I would like
a refund they gave us a small put up bed.
3.7
Location was fine, the look of the hotel was delightful
The room was not a suite that I booked it was a simple room. Also when booked it stated a private balcony which it didn't have. The bed was awful and very uncomfortable the room although trying to be authentic had extremely uneven floor and the worst bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel ...for the price this hotel was very very disappointing and I will not be returning again.
3.7
Main hotel is a beautiful building & nice terrace area outside.
Our room wasn’t in the main hotel & the first room we were allocated was so damp it was absolutely awful and I’m sure extremely unhealthy. We were told because we had a dog with us these are the only dog friendly rooms. If I would’ve been told this on booking I would’ve stayed elsewhere. We did get moved to the first floor in the same outside building which wasn’t damp but the beds were terrible so we didn’t sleep well. The breakfast was ok and all the staff were pleasant and it’s not their fault. The rooms maybe nice in the main hotel but I wouldn’t recommend taking a pet as you will be put in the tired and damp (ground floor at least) outside building and these are of a very poor standard and to top it all you will be charged an extra £15 pounds.

The hotel was close to Bressingham and had a large car park.
Restaurant on site.
The receptionist didn’t make eye contact when we arrived. She was filling out a form, she said hello but never looked up. I wasn’t sure if she was speaking to me initially.
Barman was nice but obviously very short staffed as he was by himself and rushing around to do everything.
Hotel room bathroom window didn’t close - not great with young child. Flies in room as window wouldn’t close. Beds were not comfortable.
Hole through wall to corridor. Needs filling in. From bed all you can see is light through to corridor.
Room was not air conditioned as it said in the description.
No chocolate on arrival as stated, not an issue for us but it shouldn’t be listed in description.
Flies all over restaurant for dinner and breakfast.
No one was warm or interested.
