It was locked when I arrived about 21.50, had to dial and wait. Room was external access around the side of the hotel and up a fire escape, not well lit.

Food was excellent and service friendly.
Ensuite a bit small. Dodgy socket in corner of room and a bulb didn’t work.

Staff were friendly and helpful.
Nice atmosphere hotel, room was great.
Just little thing, but there are no fruits for breakfast. Even fruits are included on the menu.

Location ideal as visiting family we find it difficult to find places to take our little dog so this is ideal our 4th time of staying in the lodge .
We thought the bath room could do with being updated and was quite dusty and cobwebs but shower is amazing
Also another table would be helpful .

the actual property looked amazing
There was zero interaction with the man and woman management team. The man was extremely rude to me especially on the day of leaving. I made a video when I spoke with them just before leaving which I will be emailing to the actual owners of the building. The door was locked late afternoon on the Friday when I stayed a second night, late after early evening I tried calling 0 for reception as tv not working and no answer I left it ringing until it rang off. On the Thursday evening I called 0 to see if I could purchase some crisps or something to eat & was told no. The coffee/tea facility not replaced, light bulb not working in bedroom, shower was extremely difficult to work as built in too close to shower wall so had to be pushed hard to decrease temperature. No instructions for tv , which intermittently worked. When I arrived with 6 bags no one offered to help take them up 3 flights of stairs, through 2 fire doors plus I had my dog. No water bowl or offer of one for dog, no glass in room or water, no biscuits or snacks with coffees, random microwave in room no instructions for use. No one explained anything about the hotel fire exits etc. It was a cross between fawlty towers and the munsters. The description of distance to Bury St Edmunds on Booking.com 100% misleading as it was actually 3 miles plus outside of Bury St Edmunds and a taxi was required to go back into Bury each time in total thus cost me £40.

Location good cabin good staff good
Would have liked plate bowls knife and fork for microwave use also hotel manual what time kitchen bar etc opened prices and what spa prices etc was didn't want to go to reception to rind out .had good stay price was a bit high for cabin stay

Helpful staff and delicious curry for supper
Some of the beers in the bar were out of stock, not a huge issue. The bedroom in the annex was really poor with a narrow bed, cobwebs and really poor lighting, curtains that didn't keep out the light and a precarious access outside stairway

nice quite location
getting tied on the inside needs new carpets and redecorating

I always stay here when I'm in Bury, for the last 20 years. Home from home.

We were in the vicinity of where we needed to be on the day.
Thats the only good.
Property was very shoddy, dated, undesirable and very expensive for what was offered.
Depressing and demoralising start to what should have been a wonderful Family weekend.
First evening spent looking for dinner, which just didnt happen.
Zero confidence in hotels catering standards after first few minutes there so had to find breakfast saturday morning elsewhere. Bathroom horrible. Toilet didnt flush.

The hotel is a beautiful building and set in some wonderful grounds. It was good to find that they had a pet friendly policy which was nice.
Inside of the hotel was a but tired looking and could of done with some TLC. The room, although clean, was tiny and the bathroom was near impossible to use after you had closed the door.
The bar was closed for the time we were there which was a real shame.
