Located in lovely tree-lined street, 10 mins walk to the Minster gates to old town. Lovely spacious room and comfortable

Enjoyable 3 day break

Plenty of space in the room and the location was easily accessible.

The double bed and one of the single beds in the room were uncomfortable - hard on the edge and springs were sounding in the mattress when you moved about. The shower stem kept sliding down when you were having a shower. As two adults we found the English cooked breakfast very nice but our 10 year old Grandson craved fruit or croissants for his breakfast.

A really lovely stay, in a quiet and private room with an exceptional breakfast.

We really enjoyed staying in one of the buildings at the back as it felt very private, and the room was a fantastic size! The staff are all lovely and very attentive at breakfast, making sure you are being well catered for.

The only thing that we didn’t like about the property was it’s location, as it was a 20 minute walk from the centre and due to it being off a main road, a taxi was taking even longer than that so plan plenty of time into your schedule if you’re planning on going into the centre.

Met up in York with friends and we stayed in a quadruple room which served our needs perfectly!

It was nicely decorated, staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast was lovely.

Our shower wasn’t the best.

The breakfast staff were lovely

We booked a deluxe room in a lovely period building,and they put us in what looked like a care home 1980s room which was very basic . We paid £268 for 2 nights which was discussing for what we got, and we felt as if we were conned.when we ran the bath there was loads of brown bits all in the water and no hot water . and when we went and complained they blamed us.,The management was unprofessional and even abusive verbally. Would not recommend,I would rather stay on park bench . We tried to speak to management again the morning we was leaving just to resolve it,,and yet again they turned it around and blamed us saying we was at fault it really upset me and my husband. We have been to a lot of b and b all over the country but the managers in this one are by far the worst I've ever seen

I think the walls might be a little thin as I could hear someone talking on the phone, however, that person was also loud in the dining room so don’t take this as gospel

Disappointing

Our stay was pleasant. The room was a good size and the breakfast was lovely with a good selection.

This 'deluxe king room' was booked as a Christmas present for my parents. It has sadly not lived up to expectations. On arrival the coffee machine was not working. This was reported and unfortunately not rectified. An offer of a coffee from the bar was made twice but still not the same as having access in the room. During the 3 night break my parents had to report a broken light in the bathroom, this was fixed during their stay. Along with the 'wobbly bed' - as the whole base of the bed needed tightening. Not forgetting the TV as that was also not working. I appreciate the majority of the issues were rectified but I feel the room should have been checked before my parents arrived. This would have caused less upset and allowed a more relaxing stay!

Great location, friendly attentive staff, perfect family room for four people and a dog!!

Fantastic stay. Lovely breakfast and the staff were so attentive….. even gave our dog a sausage for breakfast every morning. Family room was superb and just 10 mins walk into a beautiful walled York.

Struttura accogliente e pulita, 10 minuti a piedi dal centro, quartiere tranquillo, staff caloroso, gentile e disponibile, possibilità di parcheggiare internamente con l’auto

Il letto matrimoniale è piccolo, ci ho dovuto dormire con mia figlia perché due adulti non ci stanno , equivale ad una piazza e mezza italiana , e la colazione non viene servita prima delle 8, noi che dovevamo partire abbiamo chiesto se alle 7 c’era possibilità ma no, siamo partiti pagando la colazione che era inclusa senza poterne usufruire.

The only place we’ll stay when we visit York as it has everything.

Very clean everywhere and very welcoming staff. Lovely bedroom and very comfortable bed. Parking was a definite bonus too and it was only a short walk into the city centre. Great breakfast and so much choice.

Nothing really, our only minor gripe was that the duvet was a bit too warm.

Economical place to stay in central York

Good location. Cheaper than much central York accommodation. Lots of parking available though they do charge for this. Breakfast was tasty. Staff friendly.

Lots of steep stairs to get up to the top floor with luggage, no lift. I had a single room and it was pretty small, kept hitting my legs on corners of bed. Room was very clean but passageways looked tired/smelt musty. No shower gel provided (you could ask for some from reception but that meant flogging down and up all the stairs again!)

The property is in a great location to explore York and the staff are friendly and helpful.

For the price of the rooms the standard is just not good enough. The bed was broken and uncomfortable, there were no toiletries in the room, the decor was worn and tired, the bathroom felt like a student flat. Just not what we expect for £175 per night!

I had a great time in York. My stay at the hotel was enjoyable and I liked the varied breakfast.

I liked the location of the hotel as it was fairly close to the centre of York. The hotel was also comfortable, well furnished and had good facilities, such as the breakfast room. In addition the staff were friendly and helpful.

This was probably my fault as I had booked a single room. I would have prefered a double bed. Next time I stay at a hotel I will book a double room. Apart from that there was nothing bad that I disliked.
