Staff were exceptional! Front desk, bar, and reception all looked after me, above and beyond! Beautiful hotel, close to town but tucked away and peaceful. Beautiful views from bedroom, restaurant.
Everything was better than expected.
4.0
Clean, the staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble.
The only problem was the heating in the public areas but the staff put out portable heaters when required. Pillows were hard.
4.5
Very friendly and convenient

Location. Comfy bed. Staff were excellent. Conservatory was lovely. Good food choices & very tasty.
The hotel is a little tired in places but this would not stop us from staying again.

We had a large room which was in a quiet part of the hotel. Plenty of space and storage. Bathroom was great. Enjoyed breakfast which had plenty of options. Parking on site was good. Bar area pleasant.
Bit of an uphill walk back from town but not too far. Bar area was quiet in evening and was in darkness when we returned from having a meal in town. We found the barman sitting in the dark so not sure if he was happy to serve us or was hoping for an early night (although this was around 9.45pm).
3.5
The staff without exception were friendly and helpful and always smiling in a genuine fashion. The hotel was very clean.
The public rooms were tired and very dated.
4.5
Very friendly helpful staff, comfortable room, great breakfast and a great location

all went well food and room
4.5
Stylish and relaxing hotel with good service
Nice room but as I had some work I would prefer a desk to an old fashioned dressing table in my room. Otherwise excellent.

My third time in the hotel. The location is great, but what really makes this place is the staff. They are friendly, and very helpful.
The room size was great, but more could be done in terms of redecorating, as some areas (including in the room) looked a bit 'tired'. However, I noted that some painting/decorating work was undergoing at the time in the corridor, which is a step in the right direction.

Staff went above and beyond - outstanding service
3.5
The staff were very pleasant and helped me were they could. It was a good location, just 5/10 minutes walk to closest part of town and about 15/20 minutes to the furthest past of town that I went.
The coffee with the morning breakfast was instant coffee in a cafetiere. The windows in the bedroom didn't open and the floor was a bit creaky - I was up an out early and was worried I might wake anyone who was in teh room below.

Bed and breakfast, very helpful staff, lovely location, great breakfast

I was taken ill on arrival and the staff couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. The food was very good, so I'm told. I shall have to experience that on my next visit. . The room was comfortable and clean.

The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable! breakfast was good too.
Not much parking, but off road parking available nearby if necessary. Paid £140 for one night inc breakfast which seems a bit steep, but it was a nice hotel.

The room was ok, but the bed was uncomfortable, bathroom lacked hot water from sink tap, otherwise it was ok.
Bed more comfortable, hot water in sink tsp would have helped, felt press ganged into eating at the hotel, told it was fully booked, so we needed to book for a meal on arrival, found out only 12 people in restaurant for evening meal, cost a lot as well

Every member of the staff we came across was very friendly and helpful.
Hotel location is good.
Room & bathroom were clean and nicely decorated.
Check-in & Check-out was quick and smooth.
We were also given access to the room two hours prior to check-in time, which is awesome.
Breakfast was good but I think there is room for the improvement in terms of quality of ingredients.
It was quite surprising to hear the person snoring in the room above us!
Then at 6am we woke up because the person in the room above us was walking in his room. This means the hotel needs to think about improving the rooms floors because the sound was quite loud.

The room. Food. Staff were amazing and so helpful and friendly 😊
It was just perfect there was nothing not to like

Room was great and comfortable. There were some recent stains on the carpet but they didn't bother us. The room was absolutely spotless otherwise
Breakfast service was slow. Took them about 20mins for somebody to take our order when the room wasn't really full. But the breakfast was excellent though.

The breakfast was great. Really good service to.
Hotel a little dated. But it is a old building

The room was tiny

location was excellent; food was very good & room was all we needed.
Anton was an amazing member of staff but there was some disorganisation amongst others - especially during fire evacuation & breakfast. price if breakfast was too high & stingy with bottles of Buxton water!
