I had a very friendly welcome when I arrived and the host was also very helpful when the tv didn’t work in my room.
Probably hadn’t been redecorated for about 20 years. Magnolia wood chip throughout. it felt very unloved and grubby.
No kettle in room.
Stains on chair.
Dirty shower cubicle, which was in the bedroom not the bathroom.
Pillows well past their use by date.

I recently stayed at the Charde Guest House in Birmingham with my family, opting for the garden hut accommodation. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly lady who showed us to our garden hut and provided us with all the necessary information, including the WiFi details. Unfortunately, our experience at the guest house was far from satisfactory.
One of the major issues we encountered was the overall state of disrepair of the property. It became apparent that many aspects of the hut were old and falling apart. This greatly affected our comfort and enjoyment during our stay. In particular, the bedsheets, pillows, covers, and duvet were stained and clearly unclean. It seemed as though they hadn't been changed or properly washed prior to our arrival. This lack of cleanliness was disappointing and made it difficult for us to relax and feel at ease.
Moreover, we faced a disturbing incident in the toilet. Although it initially appeared clean, there was a persistent and unpleasant odor emanating from the area near the WC or commode pot. To our horror, while I was sitting on the WC, I leaned down to grab something and the entire fixture lifted up from one side. This revealed that it was not properly sealed or secured to the ground. Additionally, we noticed two small insects emerging from beneath it. The incident left us feeling deeply concerned about the safety of the facilities, particularly for the well-being of our family members. It is alarming to think that any of us could have potentially had an accident due to this faulty toilet arrangement. Considering the numerous issues we encountered, including the general lack of maintenance and safety concerns, we strongly believe that the Charde Guest House needs significant improvements before it can be considered a suitable accommodation option, especially for families with children. It is crucial that the property is thoroughly fixed and refurbished to ensure the safety and comfort of future guests.

It was a good stay facilities were sufficient for price but just needed some love on the place. I read reviews before I went and saw they weren't too good but all in all you get what you pay for.
All as above like I said I just needed some love and paint.

Breakfast was in a dirt kitchen, had dirty cutlery and a filthy fridge
3.0
It was close to the air parks .
Which saved us a very early trip
Room was fairly cold

Centrally located, close to shops, resident parking, clean breakfast area
Most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in, toilet smelled of stale urine, creaky floorboards which woke me and my partner up if either one of us went to the toilet, that's if we could get to sleep on the extremely lumpy mattress.

Nothing
My room stank of urine so bad that my eyes were stinging from the ammonia.
Worst place I have ever stayed. 1st time that I have had to leave accommodation due to the filth.
I left early in the morning so only stayed 1 night out of 4 although I paid in advance for 4 nights.
Please, if anyone is considering staying here then don't.
I, like many others, work all day away from home and expect somewhere decent to spend the night. This place is to be avoided, I wouldn't let a dog stay here.

Probably refurbished room so got new mattresses and carpets. Location for me was important.
Had to ask for a towel as it wasn't in the room. After closing the shower door there was a huge lump of hair size of a fist in the corner of the shower tray. Disgusting

The instructions left on my phone were clear and worked perfectly. The room was clean, but basic, and the bed was comfortable. It was quiet and not far from the NEC.
I didn't see any staff member. It felt as if the proprietor may have had several similar businesses and is unable to visit all of them regularly. The wardrobe consisted of a plastic hanging rail and the toilet seat was discoloured and in need of replacement.

Easy access, great location, very helpful and easy going manager with great communication
Dirty bathroom

This is basic and affordable overnight accommodation, but it was clean and entirely fit for purpose. The landlord was extremely helpful and friendly.
There is a bit of noise from nearby Birmingham Airport, but that is an inevitable feature of this location.
