The staff were great and the snorkelling opposite the resort was good.
An absurd amount of money for poor quality rooms, drop toilets, and basic meals that often came out cold. I was shocked at the entire experience. To make matters worse, there was the construction happening during the days so it was very noisy in the common area. The rooms/porches didn't even have a chair, so if you don't want to sit in the common space or on the beach, then you have no alternatives. I also found the rooms lacked privacy due to the style of window coverings, which made me uncomfortable in my room. The meshdoor on the rooms dont lock, so if you wanted extra air at night because the rooms are stifling, then you risk your security with an unlocked door. I will not return.

The Fijian vibes, all the decorations and the location!
some nighttime activity, music and games should be added to liven up the night

This was our first stop in Fiji and we loved our Family Reef Bure. Very comfortable bed and beautiful shower. There was also great availability of food choices and beautiful view from the dining area. The communal area was cosy and fun to stay at and read.
Nothing for us.

Gutes Essen, schöner Strand genügend Aktivitäten
Teilweise unfreundliches Personal, sehr ausgelegende Matratzen und es war die Rede von Bettwanzen, wir hatten zum Glück keine

Strand. Aktivitäten. Lage
Sehr kommerziell, alles kostet extra. Keine Klimaanlage (Schwierigkeiten beim Schlafen).

I loved the layout! The decking by the bar where everyone could hang out. There was also a volleyball net that everyone could play on. There were seats inside by the bar too for rainy weather. Loads of hammocks to use and chill in. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Loved the welcome juice. Water was stunning and so clear. Snorkelling was so cool and just off the beach.
The dorm had over 30 beds in! It was huge! I barely slept as people constantly in and out. The beds were comfy though. Toilets are compost toilets which were still clean but did smell, so just something to be aware of.

loved to be able to snorkel right out the front of our room. that was amazing.
The lighting in the room wasn’t great. There weren’t any lights to read by at night except the main bright lights.

The most beautiful location, loads of activities & staff were absolutely brilliant. They couldn’t do enough for you. The food was great.
Toilets and showers were a bit far away from the room & drinks were expensive.

Its very relaxed. The gardens beach & facilities are lovely. The food options are great & the food is really good. The staff are really friendly & helpful.
The staff who took us out snorkeling and diving were fun & made the whole experience fantastic.
There were no negatives for us!

The reef just off the beach is one of the best I've ever seen - amazing marine life just off the resort's beaches. Great atmosphere and very good team at Manta Ray resort - they went out of their way to help us and ensure the best experience possible.
That reef... WOW!
Things quickly add up and whilst it was a great stay, it does get pricy. Some things which are included in other resorts are not here. It caters more for single couples or dorm-based groups rather than families with smaller children. Not a problem at all and we had so much fun, but just to be aware if you are looking for a kids club/care.
That said, they went out of their way to help us. Lovely team.

Location was amazing for snorkeling! Staff were super helpful. Big menu, delicious food.
Wifi patchy, and we were told not to give the password out to staff which made us sad that management didn't appear to trust them.
Keep in mind that the water is desalinated so does have a taste that some might not like.

amazing location, brilliant and friendly staff and the coral out front was great.
have to pay to hire snorkels; the drinking water made my partner sick and the only other option to drink the water is the one you have to pay for (which is $7). the treehouse lodge room is also too small with nowhere to store luggage and is too hot with a fan that barely works.

Staff was excellent!!! Snorkeling was amassing!!!
Booking.com did not let us know there was a mandatory meal plan when we booked (there are no other services on the island). It would have been nice to know before booking

the staff were amazing. friendly and fun.
beds were uncomfortable. food was average

diving was decent
pretty much everything is very poor quality and good is awful. For lunch I was served spoiled fish. For dinner I waited an hour to be server but I never was. the breakfast was ok but the fruits were not ripe.
the bure I was giving had ants infestation. They were biting me all. I had a really poor sleep.
prices do not match the quality. I stayed in Octopus and Oarmans. they are slightly more expensive but quality on the level there. Mantaray bar is even more expensive than the more expensive hotels. Go figure.
Anyways! Avoid if you can!

I like white sand tropical beaches, vibrant coral reefs, 10 meters from reef bure, a marine reserve, cuisine, and refreshing cocktails. The best spot - explore the marine reserve located directly off the beach. We boast some of the best swimming with tuna, barracudas, sharks, and snorkeling. One of the best coral reefs. Nice comfortable conditioned reef bure with an outside bathroom with tropical plants. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Free filtered water - I did not like it most of all. As somebody working in tourism for more than 30 years, I recommend drinking bottled water (please do not forget to pack out from the island used bottles!) or boiled water.
Another area which can be improved for this and Yasawa resorts in my view is the mandatory 3 times meal plan. We are from the West Coast of Canada with 5 hour time difference with Fiji.
I have sent a few letters to the manager asking to exclude dinner from our mandatory meal plan. But it was not accepted. Dinner starts at 7 P.M. Fiji time. It is midnight in the Pacific time zone. This is too late for dinner for us! It would make sense to have an option for tourists from different time zones to pay for dinner a la carte or to sleep and not to pay for dinner.

location of property was superb. the best snorkelling we have done in all of Fiji. this itself made it worth staying here. definitely a more basic resort, but the entertainment was great, we particularly enjoyed the traditional Fijian night where the staff put on an amazing show.
rooms were very basic and very small. cold showers, and food was a little underwhelming. this is one of the cheaper resorts so if on a budget - absolutely fine, but if looking for a bit more luxury, book a shorter stay

Cozy treehouse. Wonderful activities offered by the resort.
Our mosquito net was broken.
Most of the staff was very unfriendly / unhappy although we are some of those guests who proactively try to be positively communicating with staff.

nothing!

Directly in front of the accommodation one of the best snorkelling spots on the Yasawa Islands.
The food was good but the portions were a bit too small, especially at dinner.

The beach is amazing, the shore and under the water there are so many fish and corals.
The dormitory is very clean, built well so you have some privecy in it and there is an AC.
The food is tasty.
After we arrived, we asked for towels, but it is not included (5$ per day per towel), snorkling equipment is charged by 25$ more each for all the vacaition.
The dormitory is far from the toilet and showers.
The toilet are ecological, no flushing, this is not a real problem exept of a bit of smell and that it is hot in side the toilet.

Mantaray Island Resort had the best food and snorkeling/scuba diving of all the places we stayed in Yasawa Islands. The Treehouse Bure was pretty basic but met our expectations due to the price. The bathrooms and communal showers were clean, but also quite basic.
Can't think of anything.
4.5 / 5.0
We stayed in tree bure, it was great. Not big, but comfy; great balcony (big). Bed was really comfy and clean, fan was working really well (it wasn't hot during the night). Showers and toilets are clean, but no hot water in the shower (it's common in Yasawas and not really necessary, but I like to have warm shower even in the tropics:P). The biggest highlight was the reef just off shore, simply breathtaking. The best we've seen in Yasawas and the best we've seen so far in our lives. Huge soft corals, reef sharks and rays abundant. Amazing.
The food is really overpriced( obligatory meal plan 119FJD per person per day), food was ok, but definitely not worth the money; what I don't like the most is lack of options and forcing this on me, I would be much happier to pay for each meal separately as needed. Unfortunately, it's like that in every resort. They also add extra charges upon arrival, without any notice (10$ per person per day, "fuel charge"). Just increase your price and be transparent, don't put people on the spot.

The staff were incredibly friendly and very personable. Eli in particular was a great person who we developed a friendship with. Welcomed to the island with a ceremony as well as when we left.
Sometimes the options for lunch were unavailable. However there was a huge selection of choices for a lunch time meal and the island is very remote in which I can imagine having all options available all the time could be challenging in fairness.

The coral reef immediately in front of the accommodation was incredible and we spent hours and hours snorkelling. It's also a great spot to do an introductory scuba dive. Stayed for two nights but it wasn't long enough, would recommend at least four if you have time.
Make sure you bring plenty of bug spray.
