So so beautiful 😍
Live is a fabulous host. The location is gorgeous!
I loved it. But make sure you know what a home stay is.
It was the perfect place for total relaxation

I had the loveliest time in Sunrise Lagoon, Lice and Joe are so accommodating they made everyone feel so welcome and really part of the family! This is a homestay so the facilities are basic but that's to be expected, the meals were all delicious with big portions, and the beach is very clean with such clear water. It is a very social place with all guests eating meals together at the same table. Lice really cares about her guests always warning to stay in the shade when the sun was strong, reminding us to put on mosquito spray and put a burning coil in the dorm room at night to help keep mosquitos out.
The entrance is a little bit of a steep sand bank, perhaps some steps would make it easier for guests to come and go.

Exactly what I hoped for from a stay in a Fijian village. Basic facilities, shared bathroom etc, absolutely all we needed for a stay at the beach - our little room up the hill was clean and breezy, with heaps of space to spread out. We could watch village life going on from up on the hill or come down to sit in the shade hanging out with the family and other guests. Lice was a powerhouse, constantly at work keeping the home stay running, cooking lovely meals for a changing roster of travellers, while also looking after her family. Great choice of activities too - we went on the cave diving trip, which was awesome. Thanks Lice and Jo for your hospitality and low-key welcome into your way of life. Loved it, we’ll be back!
Nothing. Life jackets for the boat trip to the caves would have been good - will take my own next time

Jo and Lice are so welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. I consumed breakfast and dinner each day of my stay, i set myself a goal to try everything that was lovingly prepared and i was not disappointed.
When one finds oneself in the south pacific ocean, what's not to like? I find it interesting when people rate their stay on how their outside influences were. If you dont like water, dont travel to remote islands e.g

Price for Location to do interesting and authentic adventures
Food lacked variety, but understandable

Affordable place to switch off for a few days.
Food portions were small and food was very basic. The reality of how Fijians feed themselves in the modern day is quite sad and lacking in nutrition. You get to understand why diabetes is a big problem in the pacific islands. Some meals like the fried fish were very nice but others mostly disappointing.
We had mouse/ rat poop on the sink in our room and the shower was very dirty with hair of previous guests everywhere.
Bed was a bit small and uncomfortable but ok for the price we paid.
Staff were distant and seemed to not be interested in guests.

This was a fantastic stay!! we had the best time ever at sunrise lagoon homestay. we stayed in a little hut right by the sea and we could hear the waves as we drifted off to sleep. The food was yummy and the portions were big. We enjoyed local fish, chicken, rice and vegetables. We also enjoyed learning the Bula! dance after dinner, playing with the cute dogs and playing with Eema. The homestay is a 15 minute walk from the lagoon and shop and it is a stunning walk of lush green vegetation, palm trees and sea views. You can walk up to the platform in the evening for sunset or at night to see the stars! We loved sunrise lagoon everyone was so friendly and we also met some other amazing travellers. what a fabulous experience!
We loved everything but we would have maybe liked some more fruit at breakfast.

Good insight into a local island community, basic but had everything that we needed. Flexible to accomodate our needs during the stay. Tasty food and very helpful staff. Thanks to Lice for sharing her piece of paradise!
The activies are a bit basic compared to the resorts, with less guidance and a bit rogue.

The host (Lise) is the best, very welcoming and funny!! She will get for you everything you need and always with a big smile! Good homemade food as well, and pig portions! Go to the tea house next to it and take a massage, cheap and really good!! In the other side of the island there is the blue lagoon beach with a bar and shop were you can chill and see the sunset with a cocktail! Sunrise is in the beach right in fornt of the homestay, so wake up early and don’t miss it!! Forget about resort comodities, this is the real Fijian experience!!

Beautiful location! And great day trips on offer each day, lots of things to keep you busy! Staff were very friendly and happy to help. Definitely recommend getting a donut from Lo’s down the beach!
Nothing really - they clearly state that it’s a homestay not a resort and that’s what you get. Very good value for money.

That staff were friendly and the food was great. I liked how they put mosquito coils in the room overnight. Staying there had a personable feel. The location was great with things to do.
The beds weren't the most comfortable in the dorms but I was fine.

If you want a real Fiji experience, you got to stay in a home stay. You will be part of Fijian life, habits and culture! The family at Sunrise Lagoon Homestay is lovely, food was simple but amazingly cooked by Lice! Yummy, healthy and fresh! They got dogs, puppies, cats, chickens, it was a blast playing with them and the kids! I totally recommend this lovely home and will definitely come back!!!

Beautiful location, friendly and welcoming staff. i rose early every morning and enjoyed sunrise views from the beach. observant guests get an idea of how much work it is to operate and maintain island accommodation: it seemed like all of the extended family including children contributed their labour, in the kitchen, laundry, helping with boats and guest events and trips.
the place is “as advertised” —you are clearly told this is not a resort—so it met my expectations. Accommodation (in the dorm) is basic. I didn’t see inside the bures (which are perched up over the seashore) but I guess the view and feel from inside would be pretty great.

Lice and her family welcomed us so nicely. The room is spacious and clean. Her food is superb; i love every single meal she cooked. The breakfast is very simple but nice (freshly baked bread!) The location is great as well - there is a tea house nearby, a little beautiful hike over the island, somedays accessible to the famous blue lagoon. Such a nice stay. We will be back.
It's tropical so bring the mosquito repellant!
