location, was cosy, and the views from the salon
breakfast could be better
8.0 / 10.0
Warm and welcoming. Very comfortable
7.0 / 10.0
Appealing, Alpine-esque exterior and common room, which offered a lounge and the breakfast area. The food was good and the employees were helpful and nice. The bathrooms seem to have been modernized recently and are clean and in good working order.
The room itself is pretty utilitarian. Clean and the beds are decent, but the room as a whole is along the lines of what you might find at a Y or hostel. Of course, that kind of fits the vibe of this backpacker's paradise in the Andes foothills.

Nice common area to converse with other guests
6.0 / 10.0
The main room has a nice view.
The wifi in the room we had wasn't usable. The comforters on the beds are massive and there is no ac in the rooms so you're going to sleep with only a sheet. The floors are very creaky and you can hear other guests moving around the hotel. Shower pooled water in the tub basin. Breakfast was underwhelming with basically only breads and some cereal.

cute property and nice common area, they exchange USD which is helpful
they could have the option to start the breakfast earlier for those who want to leave early to hike. the room was also a bit too hot

The amenities are basic and the room was clean. It was OK for a short stay. The price/quality ratio does not seem optimal but it looks in line with the alternatives in the area.
There is little sound insulation but the guests were quiet and did not have any problems.

The location was great and so was the staff.
The internet was quite poor. Even for El Chaltén standards.

nice common space, comfortable room
no issues

Great location, nice decor
If you are planning to pay in cash, the price is secretly 21% more than stated, a lot of guests were having a nasty surprise with this! Every other hotel on Booking.com states the VAT extra in the price, but this is hidden in the small print.
Our room wasn't cleaned, we didn't receive fresh towels or a bin change for 5 days. Rooms that are close to Reception have to endure loud music late into the night and early in the morning, which disrupted our sleep.

hotel is in a good location
felt like a “Money cow”. We wanted to extend a stay for one more night - we had a to pay more than we have paid for the previous nights. We asked how to go to a certain place - they sold us a ticket with a huge commission.
Breakfast is poor, and stuff is often finished. I have to go and all the time ask to have more juice or cheese or something else.

Views from common area beautiful. Very quaint and ambient building. Breakfast good and staff easy to communicate with.
Limited parking at front of building

the hotel is intimate and quiet, yet near a street with good places to eat, which really helps when its so cold you don't want to walk to far. also near the start of many lovely hikes and if the clouds will, you can see the mountain tops from its dinning room. the room is cozy and warm, and shower (hot water!) excellent. all and all a lovely place to stay, allow complete relax in nature.
liked it all.

We got good advice on the walking tours. The lunch box for the day hikes is healthy and tasteful. Nice sitting room at the lobby with tea and home made cookies.
Chaltén is quite noisy at night , the music of the bars is heard till late night. The blanket of the bed is very thick and too warm, but without it is too cold. So one wakes up regularly having too warm or to cold.
