It is a lush, peaceful setting. Very private. Very clean. Absolutely, loved the glass bottom boat tour! The spa was an amazing treat. The gym was fully functional. The kitchenette had almost everything we needed. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
There was an evening dress code for dinner and evening entertainment. Pack accordingly.

Overall the stay was very pleasant. Most of the times staff were kind. We definitely loved the food servings and the amenities at the resort provided for a relaxing stay.
Room could have been more elegantly done and at times staff appeared to be impatient. There was only one night activity during our stay and the resort was far away from most of the attractions in Barbados

secluded and beautiful

Food was excellent as were the staff. Went the extra mile to ready a room when we arrived really early.

- Room, bed was comfy
- Cleanliness
- Most dishes at the restaurants were pretty good and vegeterian friendly
- The swimming pool was clean
- Many members of the staff were rude to us since day one, they seemed to hate their job
- Service at the restaurants was horrible. The servers would often forget the orders or get them wrong and in one instance we ended up waiting 1,5 hrs for our food even if there were less than 10 ppl in the restaurant
- It was sometimes hard to find staff at the bars, specially the one in the pool area. In many occasions we waited over 10 minutes to be able to get a drink
- Poor choice of extra activities
- The shower drain in our room was a big issue, there was no way of not getting the whole bathroom wet when taking a shower so you were forced to stop the water every 30 seconds to avoid that - this seemed to be a long term issue since we noticed that the wood from underneath the bathroom door was almost completely worn out
- In the days when the resort provided buffet instead of restaurant bookings the whole thing was just badly managed: there would often be no chance of getting a seat and the food was below average
- Overall it was an overpriced experience which we would not recommend

Lovely complex, not too big, plus quiet and peaceful. Beautiful, well kept grounds. Walkable to lovely Heywoods beach (downhill) Beach shuttle if needed back up.
Be good to have a snack bar or 2 for thuse of us not fully inclusive. We did eat at main restaurant once, but be good for more alternatives

A little bit to remomote from bars, restaurants, beaches and attreactions

The hotel remains a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the warm Caribbean weather, mainly because no children are permitted to stay there and the clientele is predominantly older, often retired couples.
Many of the excellent staff are familiar from previous visits over the last ten years or more.
The new management are beginning attempts to revive the hotel after what must have been a difficult period because of covid. For example, the availability of shaded areas around the pool and in the gardens is limited, a long-standing issue and one that was alleviated during our stay only because the number of guests appeared less than usual at this time of year, but we were told that additional sun umbrellas and replacement sunbeds have been purchased and are in a container, somewhere en route.
The quality and cooking of the food was generally acceptable, as usual, with some new side dishes appearing on the menu since our previous visit, two years ago.
Perhaps because the number of guests was less than usual, the menus were changed less frequently than they were two years ago, and there were fewer different menus in the rotation. The choice of food has thus become more tedious if staying for any length of time on an all-inclusive basis. The lunch menu was a particular problem. It did not change at all in several weeks and contained no small snacks which would have appealed to older people with diminished appetites.
One of the regular evening buffets had to be brought indoors because of threatened bad weather. The entertainers did not adapt well to the semi-enclosed dining area, and staff seemed unwilling to ask them to moderate the noise level, which was at ear-damaging levels.

Management VERY accommodating for small problem encountered in room. Facilities very clean and well kept for the price point
Beach access from shuttle is not very good but I don't think the hotel is really billed as a beach destination resort so to that end most people are there for the pool and the weather not the beach

Breakfast was okay for buffet but could have been better. More choices and less repetition.
Location and rooms need to be updated; especially the bathrooms.

Distance to the beach, the shore line is not well developed for infrastructure like caffès and restaurants
