The best place to stay in Canberra.

It was the best experience from the moment I walked through the doors. You walk through the most comfy inviting bar/cafe area to get to the reception desk. Check in was very smooth with free sparkling wine on arrival and a complimentary lolly bar. The room was amazing with a free mini bar and other free facilities you can order to your room. The staff were all so helpful and friendly, and the bathroom, bed, lighting and ambience was curated perfectly. Although the room I had was small, I felt so totally at home but also luxuriously pampered!

Amazing hotel with comfortable rooms

The rooms and hotel decor were great. The bar and restaurant served nice food. Room was very comfortable.

No parking available. Had to drive around the city and look for public paid parking. The alternative recommended by reception was to use the Wilson’s parking at $30 per day.

Very poor hotel and not worth the money or the stars.

Good very poor. Breakfast wasn’t worth talking about. Free breakfast for an extra $100 and we were left starved. No pastries only fruit and when we got down for breakfast all eggs and mushrooms gone both mornings!

My wife and I had a lovely stay, exceeding our expectations.

Great ambiance in the lounge/bar. Clean rooms. Tastefully decorated hotel in general. The free mini bar was an unexpected plus! Very close to the lake and a run/workout. Good breakfast and very friendly staff.

Could have been higher up in the building - the rooms on Level 1 are rather dark. No other complaints :-)

Absolutely incredible the design, the little details and the vibe was all amazing

Ovolo thought out every little detail to make the stay comfortable and stress free, the little messages throughout the room and the free mini bar just topped it off l. The customer service was exceptional everyone I spoke to was so polite.

You could hear a lot of noise especially at night whilst in the room, you couldn’t hear people but a lot of like rattling noise. That was the only down fall

Free mini bar doesn't compensate for grubbiness and tiny room - overpriced.

Room was dark and quiet - good for sleeping. Free snacks/minibar.

Felt grubby - carpet in corridors dirty; hair in bathroom sink. TV in our room had problem with volume (kept self increasing). Room was tiny and incredibly dark - felt dingy in day time (but good for sleeping).

Absolutely loved it

Everything was amazing. Loved the vibe, loved the choice & range of lighting, stylish, attention to detail in furnishings & decor & build. So lovely to stay in an interesting hotel that challenges all your senses but is strangely comforting at the same time.

Almost slightly too dark for someone with sight challenges. I found this aspect quite difficult. Rooms very small.

Passable, will probably stay elsewhere for less with better value.

Room was nice, fridge was luke warm at best, breakfast only provided very few items, for the price i would have expected more, scrambled eggs were cold. No parking included, for a 5-star hotel, there seemed to be a lot lacking...

Room service menu, very limited. mini bar very, very limited, virtually no mini bar items.

have a night away from our farm at Hall .

I understand a snug room is a smaller size room but had not expected my husband to have to walk sideways along the bed & past the tv in order to get into bed. We have never stayed in such a small room.

Fun touches but not luxury

Pleasant enough for one night. Room was dark so good for sleeping, and spacious enough. Lobby area is very stylishly designed. Included mini bar and lolly bag is nice gesture. Breakfast toast and granola were excellent.

If your expectations are that it is five star, it isn’t; it’s a decent four star as pricing suggests (so I think rating is misleading). Wifi was woeful, just didn’t manage to connect whatever code we tried which meant Chromecast didn’t work. Breakfast coffee and eggs were awful, shame as Monster used to be terrific restaurant.

This might be the coolest hotel I've ever stayed at. From the lovely greeting on arrival, to the funky mismatched walls, to the speak-easy ambience and the helpful staff. What an amazing stay! Couldn't say enough good things about Nishi. Will be back.

Nothing against the hotel itself, but the surrounding location is a bit old and grey and not much going on. It looks like there are plans to do up the lakefront and the nearby restaurants which will make this the best place in Canberra. For now, it is a bit of a walk to anywhere nice.

Comfortable, fun and really lovely staff.

Room was very cool and well-appointed. Not super fancy but arty and I loved the sustainable materials used to decorate it. It had the basics of everything one needs. Breakfast was good. Paid breakfast for more substantial plates but you can certainly get by on the included continental breakfast.

The lighting is very low so it's kind of dark and moody. This is fine until a girl needs to apply make-up! Maybe a make-up mirror with a light in the bathroom might be a good idea.

Always love the hotel vibe but F&B needs an overhaul.

Food offer is very average at Monster Restaurant. Especially Breakfast. Very underwhelming vegetarian is wrong in a hotel environment.
