Disappointed in given wrong instructions to park and a construction site.

Good simple room.

The hotel is under construction and not just a little bit, be ready to step in a construction site and be ready to wake up at 8am with the beds vibrating from the construction team. We were told we could park the car in a location, i had the staff triple check it for me. This morning going back to my car i had 2 parking tickets (80€) on top of having paid for a parking that i apparently was not in. When asking a different staff member in the morning why they told me i could park there he told me « you should have known » very unbothered and rude. It is not the moment to go this hotel clearly …

Sehr gut

Super Ausstattung mit genug Bädern, Föhn, Hygieneprodukte, Küchenzubehör etc. Es gab sogar kostenlose Snacks und Kaffeemaschine. Alle Betten hatten einen Vorhang und Abtrennung mit Steckdose und Licht. Die Aufenthaltsräume waren schön gestaltet.

Das Reinigungspersonal war irgendwie sauer und hat dauerhaft rumgemotzt

Wouldn’t stay again but it did the job

The property is well located only a few minutes walk from much of the city

Don’t be fooled by their lack of update on booking.com they are undergoing extensive building work as are the surrounding properties. No bar, no restaurant on site and everything is several floors up. So difficult to find as there is no sign outside. They don’t disclose the lack of facilities until you already booked or even show up. Mattress was lopsided and I ended up sliding over not the most comfortable bed but the rooms were fine.

Super gezellig hostel met ontspannen sfeer. Mooie kamers met veel faciliteiten.

We werden op het laatste moment geüpgraded naar een kamer met 6 bedden! Dit was super fijn. Kamer was mooi en schoon. Er waren veel douches en wc's. Het hostel was erg modern en gezellig ingericht :)

De wc's waren niet allemaal even schoon. Het was echt heel warm in het hostel, een beetje té warm, waren we niet gewend van IJsland ;)

위치 좋습니다 (호텔 바로 앞 풍경이 장난 아닙니다) 직원분들 친절하고, 투어만 하는 입장에서 잠만 잤던 터라 만족합니다.

가격을 생각한다면 무난해요

Es war schön, aber eine Woche hätte ich in dem Hostel nicht ausgehalten.

Die Lage war extrem schön und perfekt! Der Blick auf die Berge war fantastisch!! Und direkt an der Stadt!

Es war sehr dreckig und hat sehr gestunken. Mein Schließfach hat nicht funktioniert und jeder hätte ran gekonnt. Die KEX-Tourbuchungsseite ist verglichen zu anderen sehr überteuert und der Guide war sehr unhöflich und leicht provozierend und rassistisch mir gegenüber. Fand ich für 120€ , die ich gezahlt habe, nicht so toll.

dim and confusing

the possibility of having a brewery on the lower level is a nice thing. after the tiredness of the day a beer doesn't hurt!

not my kind of place to sleep. dark, disappointing cleanliness and the setting looks like a scene from a horror film. then for what you pay, you are satisfied.

Super logement au cœur de Reykjavik

Auberge super sympa, le personnel est super sympa et les chambres (même les grandes) sont très agréables. L’espace bar/restaurant est top !

Les espaces de rangement dan la cuisine ne donnent pas forcément envie d’y laisser ses courses.

Cool and comfy stay in central Reykjavik

Great location, very cool decor and a lovely relaxed vibe. Great food and drink available onsite too. I had a room in a 42 bed mixed dorm and felt safe and comfy my entire stay.

Nothing, it was just what I needed for a couple of nights in the city centre.

Superb

Nice and interesting place with cosy atmosphere, located close to the city center. The breakfast was delightful – no prior arrangements needed, diverse selection of meals.

There is self-closing doors which was slamming the whole night because the roommates were coming and leaving, so I woke up a couple of times. Hence I recommend to use earplugs which are available at the reception, but that's the hostel life :)

Overall I am really happy, the staff were great and the other guests as well.

The bar was amazing! The view was fantastic! I could work on my laptop and look outside.

One of the cheapest comfy bed you can get in Reykjavik

The location is good, facing the sea and close to town centre. The tour desk is a helpful thing to have for solo traveller or those not self-drive travellers.

I checked into KEX in mid March, not a peak season. However it was already quite crowded. The 40+ beds dorm.... I felt sorry to the guys in bed 1 and 2, hope they are deep sleepers! The shared kitchen is too small for the size of your hostel (even in March. And also the number of toilets and showers. You can see people queueing for showers from 7pm to 10pm (those came back from tours) It's slightly pricey, but this is Iceland.

Memories to last a life time. Location and staff excellent!

I love the vintage industrial theme in keeping with its biscuit factory past and the food, facilities and layout were excellent. The view of the sea from my bedroom window was amazing as was the wide range of activities that draw in the locals as well as guests. Great community building. Reception staff were excellent and we’re really helpful in explaining everything to me as a first timer in a hostel. Cleaning staff were extremely hardworking given they have so many jobs to do.

The dark lighting in the bedroom, hallways and bathrooms. lighting was perfect for bar and food areas but a few people said it would put them off boooking again. Bathrooms could maybe do with an update but it wasn’t an issue for me.

Exceptional

The location of this hostel is AMAZING! I've seen the Aurora on my first day just crossing the street. The beds and bedsheets were super comfortable, and the vibe of the hostel is also pretty good. Even though my room had about 40 people, it was still good. I definitely recommend this place if you're travelling on a low-budget.
