Host Tim was incredibly warm and welcoming, even staying up until 10pm to welcome us after we got held up in Milford Sound. The facilities were lovely and clean and the lake views were gorgeous. We felt wonderfully attended to in the morning with the breakfast provided- yoghurt, fruits, toast with butter and jam, coffee, tea, you name it. Couldn't recommend this b&b more highly.
It was just a tad remote- we ended up eating dinner at milford sound lodge, which was a good call because this was about a 10min drive outside of Te Anau proper.

The breakfast was just perfect; fresh fruit salad, toast and local honey yoghurt, plunger coffee.
The location of the commanding viewpoint looking over Lake Te Anau was magical.
Phil Smith, the host, was very hospitable, kindly, informative, knowledgeable. He feels like a real friend now!

Phil was a great host and we had a wonderful time.
His house offers spectacular lake and mountains views and this is the house if you are looking for a quite stay with uninterrupted views. Very comfortable bed with super fast wifi. Thank you so much Phil for the ride on your baby Thunderbird and find my missing glasses. I will definitely come back with my family next time and stay longer in his house to explore more!

Breakfast was substantial. Host very knowledgeable. Fire n comfy lounge was great.

The view was amazing, yum fresh fruit and toast for breakfast. Phil was nice and his knowledge was helpful. Let us use the washing machine and dryer which we appreciate very much. Bed was comfy. Smart TV in room.
That it was shared, don't get me wrong Phil is a great person to chat with, I just didn't like that it was someone else's home and having to share a lounge/breakfast area. Bathroom was tiny, placement of toilet roll was very awkward to turn and reach and hard to get in and out of shower bath with toilet being right there.

This B&B is in a most spectacular location with amazing views across the lake to the mountains beyond. The accommodation is first class and very comfortable, to the point of cosy with the fire place. Add in a great host!

This B&B ticks all the boxes. Our room was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was more than adequate. The usual things you look for when travelling were all there. And then there is that view. Spectacular. Throw in a warm fireplace, comfy lounge and interesting conversation after a big (and chilly) day out. Our host Phil went to lengths to make sure we got the most out of our time at Te Anu. He has an abundance of local knowledge and made great recommendations about food, activities and the like. He was super accommodating and having access to the laundry and being able to bring takeaways in after a big day out really made us feel at home. We have no hesitation recommending Loch Vista to anyone else and look forward to returning ourselves to enjoy more of what this incredible part of the world has to offer.

Peaceful location just out of Te Anau. A great place to stay after the Routeburn Track. We appreciated the bath for aching muscles! Lovely linen and comfy bed. Nice breaky with view of the garden, loch and mountain range beyond. Very clean. Good dinner suggestion thanks... We enjoyed Fat Duck.
Did not have 2degrees phone reception
