This was a perfect place to stay while visiting family 5 minute walk away. Very comfortable room.
Convenient to town. No noise from pub below. Espresso machine steps from our door. Great value!

Beautiful pub, gorgeous room, amazing food!
The pub is beautiful & so are the rooms. It’s such a character property & the food was amazing (so much so we’ve said we’ll come back even though it’s an hour & a half drive away from us!) The staff were really friendly & the service was excellent.
I really think the property description on Booking.com needs re-writing to avoid people having to write anything in this box because it detracts from what is a great place. I’d suggest changing: The check out time. Its advertised as 11am when actually its 10am. Not a problem for us but you could have someone argue the toss if they wanted to. Tell people there’s no double glazing. It is really noisy at night in the room especially being in Room 3 that faces the main road. It took me well into the early hours to get to sleep because of the traffic & people leaving the pub. Again not a problem for us but some people might not want that. Mention the stairs up to the rooms. Anyone with mobility issues will really struggle getting up to the rooms so it would be best they know when they read the description rather than getting there to find it out. Explain what your version of a continental breakfast is. I imagined going into the pub & having a continental breakfast there not nipping down the stairs to the landing & then trying to take the items back to the room up the steep stairs. There’s lots of food to choose from but the selection is a bit obscure (I’ve never eaten a sausage roll for breakfast but there’s a first for everything isn’t there!) I appreciate its complimentary but it’s an odd set up that I can see from all of the reviews divides the masses more towards the negative. Loads of people have asked for a shelf/basket to be put in the shower. That would be a massive help, today was an unusual first for me….. I had to hold my razor handle in my mouth while I put shower gel in my hands to avoid getting my hair wet. Devastatingly I ended up with shower gel in my mouth 😂😂, I will not do that again! Your pub & rooms are gorgeous & will sell themselves from good reviews & pictures.

Popular pub, so room noisy
Good location for central Abingdon. Polite staff but room 1 above pub with music and noise until after midnight, so woken up when kicking out time. No tea and coffee facilities in room, but there was juice and water in fridge on the landing. Room very recently upgraded so it was comfortable and modern in an old creaky floorboards building. Felt it was expensive with no cooked breakfast.

Great Pub but stay elsewhere
Great pub with a lovely atmosphere, lots of different beers, a scrumptious menu and fabulous staff. The room was very clean. Portable heater.
Instead of a large double, it features two single beds pushed together. Probably one of the worst beds we ever slept on, hard as a rock, waking up in pain. The breakfast is terrible. It's essentially a help yourself to whatever is in a small fridge, open packets of cheese and meat, packaged croissants, cold sausage rolls, but no possibility to heat anything up. The coffee machine didn't work so we had tea and juice. We found it too expensive for what it offers.
