Very friendly , helpful landlady. Comfortable big bed. Lovely location for visiting Chepstow.
The boiler had broken but temporary heating was provided however the windows were covered in condensation so room felt damp and bathroom was cold. We had planned to eat in the pub but they closed early and last orders were at 18.45.

No issues.

Good clean accommodation and very comfy beds. Handy area as its close to town..a 2 minute stroll. Didn't have food here so can't comment on that.
No smoking area out in the beer garden

Good location, parking nearby. Comfortable bed. Room and bathroom small, but fair given the price.
Window wouldn’t stay open, but grateful for the fan

Didn’t eat here just a room for the night before my Offa’s Dyke Path hike. Great location and friendly welcome.

A friendly welcome and a comfortable room. We had our own key to the front door which gave us freedom and we had a quiet night's sleep.

Comfortable , quiet room on first floor so easy for dog and luggage-management- as well as easy access to parks as well as town . Plenty of space for clothes and storage. Room comfortable and nicely furnished without being 'fussy ' and in a building which keeps cool ,very comfortable bed and I particularly liked the artwork in the room. Nice atmosphere in the pub area with friendly , helpful staff -who know about dogs and the area - a very nice welcome for the traveller. Place is very near the town centre but also equally near the famous walks in the area. Everything in the room in working order - television, coffee machine, kettle etc.
Found nice places to eat in the locality including restaurants, cafes and takeaways. The car park is the town car park which just at the rear of the hotel and central to everything so I didn't have to use my car- the tarriff is okay -£1.20 all day on a Sunday - much of the town centre is pedestrianised with easy access to riverside and other walks.
I'd've liked an armchair in the room for watching telly. Didn't like the shelf above the bed as in the way .

It was clean and had character.
We couldn't get a drink in the bar as there were no tables. The beer garden was closed which we were not informed of, and we were told to try the pub down the road. The bar was closed by 7 o'clock both nights so we couldn't get food. We ended leaving a day early because of this

Warm welcome.
Comfortable bed, clean room with good facilities.
Good real ale in the bar.
The only minor issue was that I couldn't operate the coffee machine so some instructions would have been useful.

Staff very personable and helpful. Owner eagerly recounted long history of the inn.
That breakfast service only started at 830- or later if the first sitting was already full.

Good location and close to paid parking.
No food service due to being short staffed. Room was chilly.

Location was excellent for us as our daughter is at Bristol and it allowed us to give her a small break from university
We didn’t realise we had to check in before 8 pm.

Stayed for Chepstow horse racing. Pub is literally 3 minutes away by car or a 15-20 minute walk. It's a pub with rooms. The staff were excellent very friendly and welcoming. Good pub food and everywhere was very clean. It's not a 5* hotel but you're not paying 5* prices. Excellent value for money will return.

Location is great. In the town centre and a few minutes walk to everything. Easy booking and nice staff. Parking behind the building is good and no problems to find a space. The room is a bit small but not bad; adequate for what I needed.
Room was not clean. Bedding was ok-ish but everything else definitely could be cleaner, including the throw. Carpets are especially dirty and stained. Cob web at places and strange smell in the room. Water in the kettle was old and had this unpleasant smell. Also, the kettle's cable is too short so I had to keep the kettle on the floor to be able to plug it in. Maybe extension cable or so would be good. Lots of dust everywhere. I know it is a budget room but I still think that it should be cleaned properly, aired and small touches added. Shared bathroom was ok-ish but very cold and lots of water on the floor coming out of shower.
