I was fortunate enough to be given an upgrade to the lodge at the rear of the property. The lodge was warm, clean and very spacious. I wish I could have stayed longer
5.0
It was clean.
The location was good
And the shower was powerful
We by chance booked a night here. We got to the house at around three. When we got there it looked as if someone had tried to brake into the house as the window was boarded up at the front porch. We then were met by a young man who dint really greet us, just marched us up to the top of the building and put us in the room, there was no sitting room as shown in the pictures of the house and the place smelt slightly of weed when we got there. There was also a room we had to pass where energy drink bottles and lots of stuff was visible as the door was open in a guest room, it was like someone was staying there long term.It just felt a bit odd and not what we were expecting.

Great location, plenty of space to park and quiet traffic and noise wise.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Room was brilliant value for money with good sized and comfortable bed, shower and toilet.
Would definitely stay again if visiting Buxton another time.
Only criticism I can think to give is the room was a bit too warm for my personal taste, but I run hot so this is likely just me!

Easy parking on the street. Good location for the town and shops. Many good pubs just around the corner including a particularly good micro pub! Location was also very quiet, always a big plus for us.
Nothing really. The weather was bitterly cold whilst we were up in the peak district but let's face it, January is seldom a warm month!

Fabulous guest house, grade ll listed building with so much character and warmth, excellent value for money, and happy that breakfast was not an option as we are not big eaters and don’t feel comfortable with waste when we can’t manage a full breakfast, great location, helpful member of staff, and just a phone call away, nothing too much trouble, would love to stay here again and will do later in the year when more of the town is open and bustling, great experience, we had the most wonderful room with view of mountains
Absolutely nothing

The location was really good, good gateway to the Peak District and a quick walk to the centre of Buxton with easy on road parking. The house stayed a walm temp throughout the day which was nice when coming back from the cold outdoors.

Room a good size, the Owners/staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for you, very friendly and accommodating.
Position was excellent with easy access to all we needed and parking easy as street was very quiet.
The only thing we didn't like but an easy fix just little things like some accessories such as towel rail, toilet roll holder were rusty and bathroom flooring could do with an update but none of this spoiled our stay.

We were greeted on arrival and offered help with our cases. The room was spotlessly clean, recently refurbished bathroom, plenty of coffee tea etc,, comfortable beds, plenty of storage space; wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cupboards. The WiFi was excellent. Everything perfect. Walking distance to centre of Buxton, and to restaurants, pubs takeaways. Excellent location.
Nothing. Everything was spot on.

The proprietor was very friendly and helpful and we were upgraded free-of-charge to a new and well equipped apartment (we had booked only a room without breakfast).

Walking distance from town. Parking on road outside. Quiet area. Bath.
Minor repair issues: Bathroom flooring in need of renewal. Window didn't close.

The owner kindly carried my suitcase up and down the stairs.
I hadn’t realised it was a shared shower/toilet. The room was pokey and dark with heavy furniture. No bedside lamp, although it would have been possible with an extension.

I have stayed at the Compton several times. It is a in great location and is a comfortable option.
The room I booked had a shared bathroom and another user was not as considerate as one might expect

Lovely rooms, very homey and cute and great value for money
The taps took a little while to run hot but wasn’t really an issue that affected us

If there is no cleaning I would expect materials to clean the bathroom should be provided

They didn't serve breakfast, when before they did.

Our room was very comfortable and clean and the location was brilliant, just a short walk into the centre of Buxton. The facilities were good, with lots of tea, coffee and milk provided. The room was quiet, with only the birds waking us up. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
It was a minor thing but the bathroom door wouldn't stay closed, which was inconvenient! Some fresh mugs after a couple of days would have been helpful. Also. we received an email immediately after booking telling us to rebook elsewhere if we wanted pampering - this was a little off-putting.

Everything was perfect, my friend and I had a great time.
This is such a lovely place to stay. Spotlessly clean, lovely staff and a beautiful house all round.
Great location, lots of pubs just down the road and a short walk to the centre were there are a range of bars and food places.
We stayed in the family room 6. The room has everything you need.
My friend took her dog. The place is dog friendly, and Jasper was well looked after.
Cannot fault this guest house in any way. It really was a great night away, and it was lovely to meet John, who really went above and beyond to make our stay extra pleasant.
Will defo be returning with my hubby in the near future.
Nothing, our stay was perfect.

It was nice clean and comfortable and in an ideal location and good value for the money.
Nothing especially. It was a bit dark around the bed with the lighting which made reading difficult.

As someone who travels constantly this is by far one of the best places I have stayed, just stunning, they were over booked so I was given there cottage in town of Buxton, please do not hesitate to book botu cottage,it's central to everything and is so secluded and a perfect getaway, very high speck, a home away from home. Will book again in the future, can't wait to visit again.can not score it high enough.
Nothing ,really just the most amazing place, and so peaceful, truly just what I needed, returning for sure when I get the chance

We had tickets for the theatre and just needed a couple of rooms for the night. Lovely house. Well proportioned and very clean rooms. Good location a short walk from the town centre. Perfect for our needs and exceeded our expectations. Thank you.
Everything was great.

Very good location, easy walking distance to Opera House and other attractions. Easy on street parking right outside the property. Friendly owner and excellent value for money. Comfortable night's stay: would stay again if coming for another gig/ event.
Nothing - it was exactly as described

Great place I practical location and easy access to all Buxton. Friendly and comfortable and clean. I will stay again for certain.
Handmade wax furniture which is lovely. Problem with cup marks on counter area which needs attention. This give false impression of being dirty. They need to strip off wax and finish with durable product to.prevent future staining. Sorry to complain
