Great location, within walking distance to everything

Great location, room was huge with kitchen and sitting area, air con worked well, breakfast was included and while it was fairly basic it was always fresh and tasty. The pool was very refreshing and cooler than the ocean when we were there.

Could have been more chairs to be able to sit around the pool

Awesome place perfectly located.

Awesome place, two minute walk from the beach. Jose and Wendy are wonderful hosts. The room was clean and comfortable.

Great place for a relaxed stay

Cute little hotel , practically on the beach. Spacious rooms with private terrace and a hammock, giving you a feel living in a tree house. Rooms are spacious, with AC; a fridge and a microwave are a bonus. Three choices of breakfast every morning. Staff is wonderful!

I had a good stay and would return!

The room was very spacious and clean. It had all the basic amenities for a short comfortable and pleasant stay (i.e A/C, towels, shampoo) as well as for a longer stay (i.e dishes, mini oven, fridge). The personal hammock and table outside my room was truly a blessing to have. The staff was friendly and readily available to help (for the most part). The breakfast included is great and made to order. I had the traditional breakfast, as well as the fruit on another day and both were fresh and wonderful!

Nice place near everything in El Tunco!

I am working remote, so it was important (And nice) to have very stable Internet. The shower/bathroom was great, big room with all the basics covered, a hammock and a table right outside the room just for my own use, nice tropical shade, close to everything in El Tunco. Nice fresh fruit with yogurt breakfast, and the employees also very friendly and helpful!

There was some painting and maintenance work at the hotel, so some sanding and painting smell here and there early in the morning, but it was OK.

Perfect backpacker hotel!

The staff is AMAZING & so accommodating. Right on the beach near a lot of other rooms, so you get to meet cool people/surfers. Prime location for El Tunco Beach. They also have a hotel car and he’s the sweetest!

I guess I’m not used to the whole “backpacker” hotels. The rooms are a bit outdated & have just what you need. No hot water, but it wasn’t a big issue because of the heat outside.

the environment was amazing ! laid back and lots of tress they had a great set up ! hammocks and individual balconies for every apartment was a extra plus

Staffs are really nice even though the language barrier. Excellent location to surf.

Goog simple hotel. Exactly what we expected. Breakfast was good and the location was really good. Totally worth it

The government shutdown the electricity one day due to maintenance so the hotel had no water in the room. That’s not really a hotel fault, but was something that we didn’t like.

A perfectly located oasis of peace

Lovely, relaxed oasis a 1 minute stroll to the beach, bars and restaurants. Having a fridge in the room was a huge bonus to keep drinks cold. Hot shower. Friendly staff

Apart from breakfast, no food or drink service at other times of the day, but shops are right there, around the corner. Staff speak very little English, so if your Spanish isn't great, communication is a problem.

loved it! so close to the beach! super comfortable! lovely balcony with hammocks and chairs to relax in! lovely free breakfast every morning with 3 delicious choices! very kind people! highly recommend for a lovely stay!

lovely stay in the perfect location

nice big room with working wifi, aircon and hot shower. nice to have the outside balcony space too. really great location close to everything but nice and quiet at night.

only minor thing was the vibe from the staff was off. no mention of breakfast and how that worked so we missed it the first morning. cleaning very loudly at 7am felt a bit inconsiderate and then using our balcony to sit and play videos out loud at 1am

we had a lovely balcony and breakfast was great we were also given a late checkout which was really appreciated

the bathroom was ridiculously small with no room to put anything. the plumbing needs to be sorted out

Amazing Sunsets :)

A good location close to the beach, and in the middle of the pedestrian / main road in the surf village. Sunsets on the beach was AMAZING, truly something to remember, took like 300 photos! The room is nice, clean and spacious. BUT, there was only cold water in the shower all the days I was there. Soundproofing is not there, and you will get to know the crazy rooster in the neighbourhood + local noise. Also there were no curtains on the "top windows" - so it's not dark when you sleep longer than the sun is down (and you do!). The place is taking cash only - no creditcards.

Great place to stay!

Eco del Mar was such a lovely place to stay. The staff on site (Jose and Wendy) were so friendly and helpful. My husband and I stayed for several nights, and we really enjoyed the proximity to everything in El Tunco. The hotel felt very safe, it had a delicious breakfast, and the room was very comfortable. We had air conditioning and a mini-fridge and it was such a treat. The messaging back and forth before arriving was also very helpful and responsive to my questions. I would definetly stay again and can highly recommend.

Room smelled bad. Living room very big but no furnitures empty Room no sofas or Chairs to sit down. Swimming Pool nor like the way its looks on picture Super Smalland parkin lote not big Enough Specially if U Return litle lato to Ur Room Really Hard to park couse they put too manny cars

Good for people who like surfing. Not possible to swim in the ocean.

Friendly staff. Quietness.

Basic breakfirst - could be a bit more original and variety. No bottle opener, no cup ... nothing in the "kitchen". Swimming pool very little.

Very good

Excellent location in El Tunco - and not on the main street so it was not loud (even on a Friday). Room was spacious and comfortable with AC, and had a refrigerator which was a surprise. The outside is cute, and the staff are wonderful.

It was way overpriced for the facilities, although most things in El Tunco are I suppose. It was nice & comfortable, but not as expected for the cost.

Eco Del Mar was a great place to stay for our mini 3 day vacation.

The staff at Eco Del Mar were really helpful and amazing, especially Jose. He helped us when we needed anything and was very kind. The location is also great because it is a walkable distance to restaurants, bars, stores, beach, etc. The room was also spacious and clean (party of 3). The breakfast was very good and was prepared the moment of, compared to a traditional buffet hotel breakfast. Lastly, my favorite part was having a hammock right by our room.

The one thing I did not like was not having hot water, but this was expected. So, if you are one who needs to shower with hot water this is something to consider. There was also low water pressure in the dining sink.

Good

The place is nice, but costs more than it it worth to be honest. The location is great and the breakfast was delicious. The staff was also incredibly nice. I would recommend it for a large family but if youre a couple or traveling solo definitely go for somewhere that's not as expensive.

Bathroom was not clean when I arrived and the place is pricey for what it is.

Comfortable modern and relaxing beach stay.

very relaxed atmosphere, close to walk to everything you need. They turn the outdoor patio lights off around midnight-1am so you get to sleep in quiet darkness. The pool was refreshing and breakfast delicious, a full meal with coffee and juice. the staff and owner were really nice, highly recommend. The hammock was a great plus. For those with mobility issues, be aware the second floor is accessed by a spiral staircase.
