Great location. Character cottage . Comfortable beds. Good shower. We had a great stay
Property starting to look a little tired. Local shop closes at weekend so need to take basic supplies with you

Location was great, just what we wanted. Great and cosy. Wish we had more time to use the fire.
We stayed after our wedding and were hoping for a little something to welcome us, as stated in our conversation.
It was put before, but stairs were incredibly steep as we're the steps between living room to kitchen but to be expected.

A great local pub with good food just around the corner.
Upon arrival we were disappointed to find squashed food in the fridge, fridge door seal and shelves. I had to clean the fridge before it could be used. This was despite someone putting milk in the fridge before our arrival, I’m not sure how they didn’t see the bright raspberry juice. There was rice on the floor which I assume was from the previous visitors and loose crisps on the windowsill.
There was an overwhelming smell of wet dog in the lounge and sitting on the sofa was so unbearable we had to find the nearest supermarket to track down some pet odour Febreeze to mask the smell. We have stayed in pet friendly properties before but never experienced this issue.
The shower was not pleasant as the hot water didn’t last long so the three of us had to be ready to jump in one after the other before it went cold.
Luckily we brought a stair gate for your youngest child as the stairs were a death trap and we couldn’t let our three year old attempt them on his own.
The bathroom being downstairs at the back of the property was not ideal for children needing the toilet in the middle of the night.
I would not recommend this property.

Traditional well kept comfortable cottage. Close to most places you would want to visit in North Norfolk. Parking outside the door quite village location.
Disappointed that two weeks before Christmas the cottage hadn't been trimmed up. It didn't spoil our stay but would of added extra cosiness to a lovely cottage. We were very much into the Christmas festivities as we visited Thursford Christmas spectacular during our stay at Japonica Cottage.

Great location. Really clean, comfy settee/chairs. Beds really comfy.
The stairs are challenging as they are on a spiral.
4.3
Good location, charming looking property
Property let down by tired and tatty
decor. Needs an internal refresh to
remove stale odours.
4.3
Friendly host. Powerful shower. Nice outdoor spaces. Clean & comfortable. Quirky period design & features.
Neighbours dog barking throughout the day when owners away. Street parking could be improved with a little consideration for others.
4.3
Location was good cottage was lovely and clean
WiFi was poor and one of the bedroom didn't have handle on the inside

The location is fantastic and such a spacious cottage.

Great location, lovely garden, clean house. Local
Pub great. Lovely owners
Very difficult to use hob. Took a long time to heat things up. Beds quite creaky and could do with updating but were ok. Couldn’t find any scissors?

Japonica Cottage is a lovely place. It's cozy, inviting and has fantastic character. I'd definitely go back again...
Nothing to not like!

Well appointed cottage with comfortable beds. It is in a quiet location in the pretty village of East Rudham. The owner kindly left a little arrival pack of milk, eggs, cake, butter and coffee, which was well received.
Some of the doorways are rather low which resulted in some sore heads for taller members of our party

Up for a wedding which was at a local venue. Property comfortable well equipped and very clean.
Stairs can be a bit treachous - just need to be careful.
4.3
Compact well equipped clean and well located
Odd staircase Downstairs bathroom Small double bed in one room

Cosy, clean and comfortable cottage with lots of character. Lovely sunny little garden with a pleasant patio complete with kettle BBQ and loads of kindling. Nice big outdoor table, chairs and umbrella.
The host warned us that the stairs are Norfolk winder stairs which are not suitable for small children and anyone with mobility difficulties. We found them tricky and great care needs to be taken.

Basket of essentials such as bread, butter, milk, cake, tea and coffee was a very nice touch.
Dog was welcome too.
Nice and quiet.
Pub within walking distance.
4.3
Great location for exploring Norfolk. Fab local pub. Good range of facilities and really good welcome pack. Good communication with host.
4.3
Quiet location within walking distance to good pub. Nice small local farm shop. Accommodation was light, nice open plan downstairs.
Nice welcome bundle of food.
Good responsive heating and hot water.
Bins stuffed full / over flowing - eyesore when sitting in living room.
Stained (cloudy) wine glasses a shame.
Garden a bit unloved/unkempt
No bench in front garden as advertised in pictures.
Pillows not great.
4.3
Fantastic clean and comfy cottage. A great location/base for visiting Norfolk. The local pub The Crown, which is a 5 min walk, served great food and everyone so friendly. Will definitely be returning to the cottage again. Thank you for a lovely break away.

It was very easy to communicate with the owner Lena. The cottage is in an excellent location for places such as Sandringham and the coast. Fakenham with supermarkets is close by. The village is very friendly with good pubs. The cottage has some lovely features such as beams and an impressive fireplace with wood burner, although the stairs are tricky, they are traditional. There was a useful welcome pack provided. The cottage was extremely clean and very warm.
There is a warning about the stairs which we had read but soon realised that is was very difficult to carry a baby of 8 months up and downstairs too. We realised that on the whole we would prefer an upstairs bathroom but again we had been warned that the bathroom was downstairs. Perhaps a dog friendly cottage would be better with seating in the lounge which could be wiped down. We spent a lot of time making sure the furniture was covered over with blankets. But these are minor observations and would not prevent us from re-booking.

Generous very good quality breakfast. Good access for coastal walks. Friendly village shop. Super dinner in local pub.
Lighting - dark around dining table and a bit dark for reading in sitting room.
4.3
Great location, a short drive to lots of lovely spots. Beautiful decor and sunny garden.
Downstairs bathroom
4.3
Location easy access to all the good places quiet, cosy, private and wibbly wobbly stairs..
The local pub was Monday to Wednesday closed due to coronavirus and probably the lack of trade.. can't blame them. Was looking forward to a beer!! No ones fault

Friendly host, nice supply of everything, convenient location to reach north coast and seaside towns
