地理位置很好,就在市中心,洗澡的热水也很棒。
床垫太软了。

Greta location and there were plenty of bathrooms available. The kitchen had plenty of space to sit.
There was not much space to cook (4 areas) and with such a big hostel you were often waiting for a space to cook or for utensils to use. The bed was very hard and not very comfortable.

Reception was always well manned during the hours posted and the stff was always friendly and helpful. The facility is well organized and clean. e.g. Staff can be seen vaccuming the hallway and stairwells on a daily basis. Bathrooms were clean and supplies--paper towels & toilet paper--were always available.

The location was very good
Every night the hallway would smell like food and there would be smoke/steam because of the cooking in the kitchen.
2.5
Clean room with decent storage space.
Kitchen wasn't equipped for the amount of guests using it. Not enough hobs, knives etc.... Plug socket in our room didn't work. Room was quite small and got very hot late afternoon time. Also very easy to get lost as the hallways are a bit baffling.

The only good thing about this place was the location. Walking distance from the main points. The way we were received was just bad. Felt like just a number, 2 more.
The free car parking is bad advertised. The car park you have for free is on the street. Good luck to find a spot on a busy city. Room was not the worse, we had a double room, but there was a strange smell (not only in the room, all over the hostel), and the noise was just terrible. Could ear people walking on corridor, doors opening and closing, and even things falling on te floor on the room next to our.
Kitchen was big, right, but cleaning not enough. We saw kitchen being cleaned at 9am and that's it. A kitchen like that should be cleaned at least twice a day, for the size and number of people in the hostel. And the cleaning should be more quieter. Had to leave the kitchen in the meadle of my breakfast so annoying the noise was. Maybe because the staff was using headphones and obsviously couldn't notice what they we're doing. (Very professional)
There was a guest spitting to the sink where everyone wash the dishes. Just disgusting.
The cherry on top of the cake was a used condom on the female shower. Saw it at 8pm, and next day at 9 am was still there, it means the toilets and showers were not clean between that time.
There was no activities on the hostel, no music on reception or lounge, bar was closing at 8pm, when the bar is just behind the reception, and reception closes at 10,30 pm. Doesn't make any sense. Definitely not the meaning of a hostel. I've been in a lot of hostels and this was by far the worse. Don't recommend and will not come back.

It was my first time staying at the dormitory accomodation. I found it quite interesting about how the facilities can accommodate all the needs of our travelling time. The location was perfect nearby the bus stop and you can explore Christchurch CBD just by walking. If you tend to save money, you can cook at the shared kitchen. There are plenty of bathrooms and toilets available and the cleanliness were good enough.
Sometimes the bathroom doors and several doors when closing were too loud.

very basic accommodation, poor ventilation in the rooms - no window
I had a very negative experience with the night manager James. I asked for change for a $10 bill so I could use the laundry machine and be curtly said he was already in the process of counting the change for the evening and refused to make the exchange. He told me I could put my bill in the candy machine instead and take the change from there. the machine had trouble taking my bill so I asked if he could at least échange my bill for a new one and he still said no. I asked his name and if he was the owner and he responded by saying I was being aggressive and he would not engage with me further. the entire exchange took me back, as I had nothing but positive exchanges during my time in New Zealand until this. terrible shame.
