This beautiful and pristine, private access property has incredible views of the Texas Hill Country - that can be seen from every window of the home. The property is surrounded by tall canopy's of beautiful Oak trees - providing the perfect shade for that afternoon siesta or nap.

Each bedroom has new comfortable mattresses - wrapped comfortably with cotton linens. There is a full kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker and other modern appliances to make you feel right at home. A new central air & heat system is sure to keep you cool and warm year round. The floor plan is open and lends itself wonderfully to entertaining guests.

Outside, there is a barbecue pit/smoker - along with a firepit for those air-cooled star-lit nights. (please bring charcoal and wood) The fenced (kid friendly) backyard includes a swing for two and a swing for one that are nestled under a large Oak tree that overlook the majestic hilltops. The backyard is lit with cafe lighting to add to the nighttime ambiance.

The home is located on 10-acres - which also contains an *RV pad located approximately 100 yards from the main house. The RV pad comes fully equipped with electrical hook-up, (20-50 amp) water and sewage. *PLEASE NOTE: The RV pad rental is a separate rental fee. (Please inquire with the host for pricing.)

The property has river access. The beautiful, natural spring-fed Nueces River is a short, 'rocky walk' from the property. Be sure to bring along your sneakers or hiking shoes in order to navigate the rocky terrain alongside the river. (PLEASE NOTE: A walk to the river is not suitable for the handicapped or the elderly)

The kids had a blast, my wife and I enjoyed the quiet and peaceful time we spent there.We did a litle fishing, the acces to the river can be a bit rough, but if a 4 year old can do it everyone can do it. Everything looked exactly like in the pictures. The house is a bit old and maybe a bit outdated but it has its charms. It's also very well furnished with everything you need. We will definitely be back.

We had a hard time finding this place Because the map takes you to downtown Campwood and not directly to the place. We went to the real estate office in Campwood and showed them the pictures of the place and they were able to take us there. We all love the place.very peaceful. The rooms were a lot larger than they looked in the photos and the kitchen was well stocked for everything. You might need as far as dishware, pots and pans and spices. The AC works well snd the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The view was incredible. You can walk to the river frkm there easily. The street number on the place was hard to see and would be easily missed.

This location is a place we will be visiting for the future. My family and I enjoyed are stay. Perfect for a family to get away from their busy life’s. We had a good walk to the river and the kids enjoyed the yard to throw ball. Our youngest loved running around and poking bugs. The river was a plus just enough to relax and get earth grounding in the soul. Thank you Dawne for the assistance and being there when we needed it.

Such an amazing place to take your family to unplug and relax! The River was the perfect depth to just sit in the water. About 30 yards down the river is deep enough to swim and jump off rocks! Little ones can play in the water while older kids can actually swim with you seeing them! BEST VALUE for Nueces River!

Amazing Place!

This property is everything you could ever ask for! It literally has everything you need! Communication with the owner was so easy and she responded quickly! The property is so peaceful and so quiet. Set back away from other people. The river was amazing. Just a short little walk from the house! I have a teenager and a pre teen and a smaller child and it was perfect for all ages! We will definitely be booking again and look forward to our next stay! The property is also just a couple minutes from Camp Wood dam, and cute little stores and restaurants!

We’ve returned to Dawne’s property several times now as it’s an ideal place to enjoy the Nueces River and Camp Wood. Everything was clean and as expected, it’s a beautiful property with good river access. The amenities make it easy to cook and enjoy time as a group.

Perfect hill country getaway!!

This place has it all. We did a three night stay over Easter weekend and we are already planning the next trip. The house is on the river so we enjoyed morning coffee with the best views. During the day we mostly swam at the dam which is a quick trip ( literally less than a mile) away. We headed back after we were all water logged and the fully stocked kitchen had everything we needed and then some to make dinner for my hungry crew. The kids enjoyed movies and games each night and my husband had to take a picture of the pillow tag cause he said it was the best pillow ever! I’m sure he already ordered one just like it on Amazon. Would highly recommend!!!

Love this house!

Love this house!

The house is perfect for a family outing. The river access is a lot closer than we expected. If you go down to the river and walk or take your 4x4 about 200 yards to the right there is a perfect spot with shallow and deep water with beautiful trees. About a mile up the road is the famous Dam which is also great for swimming and relaxing in the river. The house is really comfortable and Dawne the owner makes it a very easy process. The house was stacked with many extras like charcoal and many items in the fridge. Would definitely stay again!

Great location, in the middle of nowhere but close enough to "town" to access those comforts. Super comfy beds, well stocked kitchen. The river was perfect, we fished, paddle boarded and floated till the sun went down every day then enjoyed the awesome fire pit and grill every night. Close to the River Damn for a day trip and Camp Wood for ice cream and BBQ. There were a couple of bumps with plumbing and I would recommend more outdoor seating (other than folding chairs) to better enjoy the stunning views of the river, hills and sunrise! Highly recommend and we will be back!

Very Relaxing!!!! A place to unplug. No cell phone service for us. May be a problem for others? It was a perfect setting for us :) The camping site located in close proximity to this property was full of daily/nightly entertainment. But wrapped up the "Headliners" by 10:00pm (so we weren't bothered too much) It's country living at it's finest. So doing things like waiting on toilets to fill back up or filling the tank up ourselves became a family joke:)This property offered a nice peaceful walk to the road and back with beautiful sounds of nature to keep us company. Our time in the cool clear water was "Heaven on Earth"!!! (Wish we could find our own slice of heaven :)) But until then, we will have to make plans to return to this beautiful place. The setting of the property for us was great for us. We were looking for a place to visit with our family and this location/outing gave us that. There property was very clean and well stocked. However there were a few issues with plumbing fixtures and hot water pressures that could have improved our stay.Over all we enjoyed our time there. Beautiful, quiet and relaxing. Definitely want to visit again! Perfect for families, couples friends or girl trips! The views are beautiful, water is cool and completely clear. Bring a canopy tent to put in the water for shade because you will be relaxing in athe water all day! Communication was amazing and our every need was seen to. One of the most generous and gracious hosts I have ever stayed with. As stated in previous comments, the master shower was difficult to regulate the temperature and we had some issues regulating the temperature of the electric stove. But we are used to a gas range .Also, the range hood does not ventilate. So we adapted. We just used the electric skillet and cooked outside. Not anything to detract from the amazing location! Even our lone teenager loved it here and wants to come back! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to experience the peace and beauty of nature on th Nueces!

Perfect family getaway

Perfect family getaway

We traveled during the "pandemic" so wanted a nice place to be together without a lot of crowds. This was perfect. The location was secluded but close enough to make a quick run to the store. The river was clear and cool, the scenery beautiful and the wildlife abundant. We sat under the big trees for coffee every morning watching birds, deer and even saw a turkey! Any issues we had with the house were minor: low water pressure(I'm sure due to being well water) and low lighting in the kitchen. Our kids are already begging to return. Thanks for the great stay, Ms. Dawne!

Great location for stargazing! First night we stayed on property and second ventured out to a rural county road! Both excellent views of Milky Way, constellations and the Neowise comet (last night was the best viewing of it in 6800 years so glad we got that in!). The private Nueces river access was amazing. We also tried out Quince and the hwy 55 bridge locations. Really a great combo of swimming while waiting for the stars to come out. My only complaint is we wish we could have turned off the big street light by the carport. Because of it we had to go to the other end of the property to see the stars and even then it was a bit visible. No big deal though. Plenary of other options all around the Uvalde county!

Great stay on the Nueces

Our group really enjoyed our stay. The property was clean, peaceful and had very nice amenities including plenty of places to sit and relax. We cooked all our meals on site and had everything we needed from the grill to the stocked kitchen. Only suggestion would be a few more coffee mugs but that was a minor issue. As other comments mention the water pressure is low but it didn’t create much rumbling among our group. This place stands out for its river access, it’s an easy walk to the banks and for those willing to travel just slightly upstream, we found deep enough water for good swimming. This is a great property and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
