The location is PERFECT! Just steps away from the ocean, and beautiful sunset views. The staff were helpful and courteous and connected us with tours and resources around town.
3.0
The location was great, I love hearing the ocean everyday and breakfast was good and coffee was great. They serve the breakfast upstairs with the nice ocean view. The hotel is close to everything.
The door banging all day! I think this hotel is ready for remodeling. You can hear all the conversation outside, all guests are either slamming doors constantly and inconsiderate or the hotel quality is awful. The room is small and bed is not comfy. Pretty pricey for the quality of the hotel.

Casita de la Playa is just a beautiful hotel situated on the beach. Rooms were lovely most with a view. The staff was superb and very helpful with everything and anything. Housekeeping was great, towels were lovely, rooms have ac, very spacious, clean and fresh.
Breakfast was made fresh daily, plentiful and very delicious. Reception was most helpful with local information, tours and any needs they went above and beyond. Thank you!
No complaints.

The initial welcome was lovely, and the location on the beach was very nice, but it was hard to enjoy the outdoor space because of the flies. The breakfast was also fine, though nothing special. The Mexican restaurant at the back end was the best we found on the Island.
There were flies buzzing around outside, so it was hard to enjoy that space. More importantly, the second-floor bathroom one member of the family had stank of sewage each night. Also, the overall architecture put every room in a fishbowl.

The staff at this hotel were adorable. All of them. Helpful, knowledgeable, kind and full of suggestions for activities and restaurants. They could not be faulted. The position of the hotel is also excellent, right on the beach-side. But also close to the town centre and easy walking to restaurants, the dock and Concha de la Perla. The beach is glorious. Breakfasts were lovely, and presided over by an adorable lady, who made the early starts worthwhile!
The condition of the hotel was not great. We had been upgraded, apparently. However, this was the most expensive hotel we booked, and it wasn't great value for money, even upgraded. The hotel was very tired, and our room leaked. Literally rivulets of water running down one wall when it rained. Fortunately, not near our clothes or over the bed! We did tell reception, but we're just told that yes, there were refurbishment plans. Only one side of the bed had a side table and lamp, which is a bit irritating if you like to read before sleep. The towels in the bathroom were small, and very worn. The plugs were pretty worn too, and the light switch in the bathroom half broken. Some of the sockets didn't work. The windows didn't fit well, and were drafty and noisy in the wind, and being beach side, there was plenty of breeze!

+ At the beach
+ Free fresh wather, tea and coffee
+ Very friendly señora in the kitchen
- Way too expensive for what it actually is.
- They asked me to send my passport in advance per e-mail, which I think is unusual. They asked me to send it to the domain of a travel agency called neotropicexpeditions which I haven't heard of before. It was the mail address of a certain Myriam but in fact I was communicating with Raffaela. When I arrived at the casita they still made a copy of my passport. The guy at the reception probably didn't know that I had already been asked to send it by e-mail. This copy remained in the printer for 1 day at the reception where everyone has access 24/7.
- The Casita is at the beach, yes. But there's still a the walking path (malecón) between the casita and the beach. But that is actually obvious when you check the location on the map :-)
- The cleaning service was inconsistent. Sometimes they took away used towels but forgot to provide new ones. The hand soap was missing and I was running out of shower gel. No one noticed. Usually I do not mind about these little things. But for the price I simply expect more attentiveness.
- The door was not airtight. I needed to put a towel on the floor to stop constant air currant during the night.
- The breakfast was very basic: Bread, marmalade, butter, cheese, meat, eggs, cereals, fruits, lukewarm and (I assume) reheated coffee form the days before. Nothing that would not be served in a simple hostel. For the price I paid I simply expected a bit more variety and creativity (e.g. avocado toast or something alike), taking into account that the resources on the island are limited. However, as a vegan customer I was happy that I was served plantain and maize puffers as egg alternatives :-) The box breakfast on the day of departure would be a good moment to surprise the early leaving guest.

Perfect location right on the beach. Staff were exceptionally helpful!

Breakfast was very good and the staff are absolutely fantastic. From laundering a towel from a bout of seasickness to allowing us access to facilities after check out. Scenery was beautiful from the rooms we stayed in.
Not within the hotel’s control. Infrastructure is limited on the island.

The staff of this hotel is amazing. They were super friendly and helped us to get the best experience of Isabela. The breakfast is great, the rooms are very clean and you can hear the waves while laying in the bed. Perfect place to stay in Isabela.

The location was perfect right next to the beach and the night life. Paola the receptionist was beyond helpful and kind! Allowed us to stay past check out time since we had a tour, helped us get a ferry, and get to our tour.

breakfast was perfect and location of room was the best
water came through the cupboard when it rained and wet ALL of our clothes. not pleasant :-(

Great location with direct access to the beach. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean. Very helpful staff. Nice breakfast on a terrace with sea view.
It's a very small hotel, and the layout of rooms is not the best. E.g. our superior room was located next to the reception, and the bathroom had a common wall with the reception without soundprrofing. Not a nice experience.

Excellent location. Very good breakfast with fruits, bread, beverages, cheese and jelly, with a fantastic sea view. The attendant Paola was gentle and did everything to turn our experience smooth and wonderful, providing information of the island, booking bikes for our tour to Muro de las lágrimas and calling taxi for our transfers. Her tips were great.
Nothing to declare.

if you travel solo the rooms are perfect but if is a couple then make sure to book the triple room

Everything, spectacular property with direct access to the beach. Paola was super helpful and even went beyond her duties to help a friend who was staying at another property. Very clean and the delicious breakfast on the terrace was a perfect way to start the day.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Cozy athmosphere all and all. This is not a fancy hotel but a quaint one. The breakfast was served on the rooftop balcony with great views and it filled all the basic needs for breakfast.
The superior rooms have big windows to the beach where people gather for sunset (not a pricate beach). This means you have to keep the curtains closed at all times if you want to have any privacy. The standard rooms with smaller windows are better as you can keep the windows open and actually enjoy the seaview.
Also in superior room the smell was not fresh (moldy) but keeping the air conditioning on all the time helped. I wouldn’t recommend for honeymooners.

Great location right on the beach. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was good.
Room was a little small as was the bathroom

Very well located, in front of the beach and close to a few nice restaurants. The staff (Paola and David) were absolutely amazing, always keen to assist and with a big smile on their faces. The breakfast was great, they had different options accommodating each guest needs, although not a buffet style, the amount of food was on point. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, incredible free coffee all day long and free toiletries.
About room 202:
- It is located below the kitchen, so at 6am we were up as the staff was cleaning up / making breakfast. If your plan is to sleep in and rest, ask for another room.
- The AC didn’t work, I asked several times for help and although David sent someone to “fix” it right away, it never worked. The weather wasn’t too bad to sleep without AC but the mosquitoes were a nightmare to deal with, literally. They never offered another room in reparation even though the hotel was not at full capacity.
- If you like to sleep with more than one pillow, ask for an additional one.
- Only 2 out of the 6 power outlets / sockets worked (the one in the bathroom and the one next to the door) so it is very uncomfortable and inconvenient if you want to charge your devices after a long day of using them.
This hotel is part of the Opuntia group of hotels (Baronesa and Volcán in Isabela Island) so I would have expected more from them for the price we paid for our 3 days in.

Great view
Good location
Very delicious breakfast
Comfortable and clean rooms
Friendly reception who speak both Spanish and English
Free tap of water to drink
Do not book tours via the hotel but directly in the tour agencies for activities as Volcano hike and Kayak to the pinguins who sell it for less than 50 usd pp being max 30 usd per person with a good guide as Alfredo.
Communicate clear in advance about the check out time as we arrived late from a tour and our luggage and belongings were removed from our
room. However they placed it to another room and didn't charge a fee for late check-out.

Hotel Manager Mory was extremely helpful and made our trip a lot more relaxing by arranging day tours, taxis and taking care of things!

- Puerto Villamil is mini, so this is a great location on the beach with nice views and 1 minute to the small town square.
- Breakfast on the roof was very good.
- Drinking water is available to fill up your water bottles.
- Rooms are clean and nice, but lacking some basics.
- The "seaview rooms" are partial and not like the star photo they have on the site; that must be one/the best room.
- Despite requesting in advance to send a taxi to the airport, with flight details, this wasn't done and we had to hitch a ride with a kind stranger. It's a mini town/airport, and there's nothing waiting for you except a sand road outside the small terminal room.
- Despite stating in advance our arrival time and flight details, there was no one at reception on arrival for hours. There's a sign with a number to call, but tourists don't have local SIM cards or wifi connectivity to contact them. We found our reservation paper on the desk, located the room number and let ourselves in. It's a small place and there's only occasionally 1 staff (very nice) to be found occasionally anywhere.
- For the price, rooms should be fully fitted such as with reading/bedside lights, hooks in the bathrooms, etc.

Breakfast and location were good. Staff was friendly.
There were a ton of BUGS in the room that got all over my clothes in my suitcase. There were hundreds of little gnats, it was gross. I told the staff twice and they still charged me to wash laundry that had bugs on it and didn't offer any sort of compensation. Also, the room was tiny with no privacy. The shower water went from burning hot to super cold every few seconds too.

Location and staff are the best, breakfast is good;
Trust Paula for tips and advises, she is super
