Loved the onsen.
3.5
location close to station
no bath mat or hand towels, breakfast just a bag of bread

The room was more spacious than we thought it would be. The futons were very comfortable and the thick blankets kept us very warm at night. The location was very ideal- there were many onsens just in the area and many places to eat at.
The water in the bathhouse in the ryokan could have been a bit cleaner, but overall it was a very good experience nonetheless.

I chose this hotel for its proximity to rail and bus transport, and to the Snow Monkey park. We paid for a quadruple room, so it was a good size. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train and bus station. Hot water and wifi were good.
The corridor to our room smelled terrible. The hotel is aware of the problem, since they have deployed an air freshener in the hallway, which does no good at all. The onsen did not seem particularly clean to me, especially when compared to other facilities we have stayed in recently at the same price point. Some of the 4 separate baths in the on-site public onsen had a lot of particulate matter floating around in them; this was off-putting. While the hotel provides body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the onsen, they do not provide any other amenities such as body lotion, facial wash or lotions, onsen towels, etc. The hotel lounge was closed off and not available for use during the day. Breakfast was included in our room rate; ‘breakfast’ consisted of 3 small rolls and a hot or cold drink. 3 small rolls and a cup of coffee do not constitute breakfast in Japan, and the food should not be advertised as breakfast. Slippers were not available during the day, only after check-in time at 3p.m. Otherwise, you had to walk around in your socks or bare feet. I would not recommend this hotel. Spend a little more and have a more comfortable stay with a proper breakfast.

Located close to the train station.
Staff are generally nice and friendly.
Hotel facilities seem to be outdated.
Many stains on hotel room's carpet, wall paper and tatami.
Some lights are not working.
Toilet is unflushed.
The hotel room itself is a bit outdated.

The room was lovely, the futons were really comfy and I just loved the onsen, it was beautiful!! The Japanese lady at the service desk went above and beyond to accommodate us, she was fantastic!!
Prefer a normal shower instead of a shower bath, difficult for an older person to get in and out of.

big room
comfy futon
there was a not usable kitchen with a bad smell
bathroom not so clean
everything very old but ok for a short stay

It's a bit of an older building, but the room was large. The staff was great! They were very welcoming and helpful, and the onsen was enjoyable.
We drove to the hotel, and there was free parking which was nice. Overall this was an enjoyable experience.
The onsen facilities were nice, but only one of the baths was very hot. Luckily, it was the biggest of the baths so it was spacious and not crowded.
The bathroom could have been more thoroughly cleaned as there was some hair in the drain, but otherwise it was fine.

the onsen
the location
not enough pillows but think that’s traditional way

really good onsen and very comfortable room

It is in a tradition onsen town and the location is good.
The facilities is a bite old and broken .
3.5
Size of the rooms, breakfast.
Bathroom is quite small.

The spa (onsen) was good and open all night.
We took 2 tatami (Japanese style) rooms for the family. For both rooms, there was no hot water at all, there was terrible noise after flushing water until the toilet tank is filled up for about 5 minutes, the tap water in the kitchen was leaking...
We complained to the hotel front but they even did not offer to change the rooms though the hotel was relatively empty.
so our recommendation is to stay away from this hotel.
