This was such a wonderful place to stay! The hosts are very attentive and generous, the room was spacious and clean and the onsen was very very nice and private at no extra charge. We did not order a meal because we had our small child with us, but it smelled so good so when we come back again, we will have to get dinner!

the host was amazing ! she looked after us , made sure we arrived safely from the train station by arranging a lift. also arranged a lift to snow monkey park . we ate dinner and breakfast here and loved the variety of meals and the massive effort made . the onsen was large and clean and we loved the matching bath robes (japanese yukatas) provided for our family of 5 . the shared bathrooms are spotless as it is a small , family run Ryokan , so need to worry about sharing. the onsen can also easily be used privately as this allowed our family to share this onsen together. thanks for a lovely stay :)

Wonderful ryokan with very hot onsen baths! We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast. So many reviews mention the lovely hosts (that was why we booked) and their hospitality was incredible. They were kind enough to drive us to the monkey park and drop us at the station. Couldn’t recommend more highly!

Hôtes très prévenant, le messieurs nous a amené à notre arriver aux singes.
Le dîner était très copieux et délicieux, la dame a prit bien soin de nous.
Nous habitons au Japon et c'est le meilleur hébergement que nous avons fait.

Excellent breakfast, especially the Japanese style one. The dinner was amazing. The hostess was very welcoming and caring, and helped us with everything we needed.

The property is owned by a beautiful couple. Our host was kind and helpful at all times. The property is beautiful and exceptionally clean. The onsen was amazing and could be privately booked for you and your partner. High recommend.

This Ryokan is super clean. We stayed with three people in a spacious room. there is a beautiful serene onsen. but best of all was the delicious dinner, one of the best we have had in Japan. The hosts of the Ryokan are very friendly and gave us a ride to the station. it is also conveniently located near the snow monkey park (bus). we would stay there again!

The onsen was superb. We arrived late and in a lull season in mid June. Owner Kobayashi san was communicative throughout the booking to stay. We were able to arrange an adhoc ride to change highway bus to travel up north, which was very kind. Love the senior lady who helped with everything we needed.
A little out of way, without a car one paid extra for train fare.

The owners were very friendly and considerate. The food was so delicious, and the hot spring was very comfortable!
everything is perfect!

Taka (?) is the most amazing host with a very welcoming manner. Her meals are incredibly filling and delicious!! At dinner, she served us her homemade plum wine! Our room was very spacious with comfortable futons. We enjoyed the experience of a smaller ryokan and using the beautiful onsen. We were very grateful for a ride to the monkey park and to the train station.
There was some confusion via email about pick up from the train station, but otherwise everything was very easy.

The host is the kindest and sweetest person in the world. She is so accommodating and tries her best to make you feel comfortable. The dinner was delicious and the onsen was such a plus! Also drove us to the Snow Monkey park (free of charge) and delivered our luggage to the train station.
Nothing! I loved everything

The Onsen was such a nice experience, after a cold day outdoors.
Breakfast was served at the table and was of a very high standard. Plenty of variety.
The evening meal was probably the best we experienced on our visit to Japan. Served at our table by the hostess, the courses kept coming and coming. A memorable evening.
There was nothing to dislike during our stay.

Amazing staff, so welcoming and kind. They have their own onsen and the dinner is of the best dinner we had so far in Japan.

The customer service was superb.

It was just what I wanted- a more traditional style inn with natural hot springs onsen. location was great. The dinner was also what made our stay so wonderful. The meal and presentation was outstanding! Breakfast was also great and filled us up so we were able to keep doing our tourist stuff when we were out and about. Also enjoyed being able to wear their provided yukata. The couple who runs the inn were very nice. Onsen was excellent!

Fantastic reception by the 2 owners. The dinner was also great.
Not much to complain about.

The hotel was amazing! A very sweet couple owning it. Very available and caring. We took the dinner option and they asked us before hand if we had some things we cannot eat which was super kind of them. The dinner was excellent ! A lot of variety, seasonal and very tasty food. Breakfast was also really really good. They also offer free shuttle service to and from the train station. We loves the fact that we could privatise the whole onsen for ourselves and the massaging chair in one of the onsen. We had an amazing stay, would definitely stay there!!
Everything was perfect!

The owners were incredibly helpful & lovely to talk to. They offered to pick us up and take us to the station which isn’t a far walk, they also offered to take us to the monkey park. we only stayed one night but had a lovely time. you can use the onsen for free and make it private by taking down the curtain. it was very clean with a spacious room. would definitely recommend and stay again.

The ryoken is around 10 minute drive from the Snow Monkey Park. The owners will drive you there if you wish to go.
The owners will also pick you up from Yudanaka station upon arrival.
Facilities very clean and the owners are very hospitable.

Absolutely amazing experience!
The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. They kindly picked us up from Yudanaka station on our arrival, offered to drive us to the Snow Monkey Park (which my partner and I accepted) and also dropped us back to the station as well.
The traditional dinner you can book with them (through the messaging system within Booking.com) is an experience I would also highly recommend. Outside of the traditional dinner, there's a 7/11 less than 3 minutes walk away you can buy food from and use the microwave in the hotel's tea/coffee/eating room on the ground floor. As a side note, the drinking water they provide in this room is really good!
The room itself was lovely and spacious, with 2 futons, a large wardrobe, a sink, a kettle, a safe, a table and a combination AC/Heater.
The shared toilets were always sparkling clean and no issues at all with privacy.
The best part of our stay was access to the onsite private Onsen. Outside the hours of 10am - 3pm you can reserve either of the 2 Onsen (one large, one smaller) for personal use just by taking down the hanging banner outside the Onsen's entrance and setting it to the side. There is also a massage chair available to use in the larger Onsen's changing room.
If you are considering staying a few days in the local area at a traditional Ryokan, then I whole heartedly recommend this place!

Everything! the onsen was wonderful, and the room was cozy and comfortable. Both the Kaiseki-style dinner and breakfast were delicious. The owners were super kind and generous. I would definitely recommend it.
