The staff were friendly and flexible. I was visiting family locally, so the location was ideal. I ate lunch there which was filling and value for money.

Very friendly and comfortable
Bar shuts by 9pm but it seems most pubs in or near Staveley do so.

Brekkie was grest with lovely staff
All ok

The property is a half pub half hotel which is located 50m from a large supermarket and other ideal places. I stayed in the family room as I was a late booking and it had no complaints what so ever. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
I have read that this establishment has recently been refurbished so I have nothing to complain about. The other thing I may suggest to try and help them is possibly add small bins into bathrooms and have more towels on hand for guests in their rooms.

Very good but I do like proper coffee but great service

clean room friendly staff
noisy due to bar downstairs and beer garden with smokers right below room window. no Wi-Fi in the room only in bar downstairs?!

Very disappointed with the breakfast. There were no discussions with staff about our requirements. We sat down and minutes later, we were greeted with a plate of food, half of which we didn't like. We were asked if we wanted tea or coffee, which we declined, there was no offer of a cold drink. Absolutely no customer service at all. The place and staff is lovely, but would not return for this reason.

New clean cheap price
Too much noise. Drunk group sat outside ranting/ swearing / shouting till 1 am which I'm sure long after the bar had shut. Female in group couldn't speak a sentence without F s and C s , right chav. Not the bars fault but these weren't the best clientel

Good price, Plenty of room to park a car, lovely staff, really clean room, it was everything I could want.
Nothing at all. Ticked all the right boxes in every way possible. I would definitely go there again. The barmaid is lovely and very sociable.

I did not have breakfast.
For the price I could not have expected any more. The room was extremely clean which for me is one of the most important parts of a stay.
The road noise. This is completely out of the owner's control and is absolutely not a complaint.

The owner and staff were friendly. A good breakfast and a quiet spot.
Hardly anything other than a Morrison's was nearby. We couldn't find somewhere to eat 9 o'clock on a Friday because the one curry house was full. Went there the next night (The Curry Leaf). It was excellent.

The staff were very nice. The room was of a good size and everything was clean and modern
The room on the 2nd floor gets quite hot in the summer. Having a fan there in front of the window might help. Having more towels and shelves as well as hooks in the bathroom would increase comfort and help with practicalities.

Although we arrived early our room was ready, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was freshly refurbished so it was up to date, clean and bright, the usual facilities, TV, kettle with selection of coffee and tea, soap, shower gel and shampoo. Very comfortable bed and pillows, overall a very good stay and we will return I'm sure. Breakfast was ample and lots of hot toast.
As the property is in the process of refurbishment there were just a couple of small snagging jobs to be completed in the bathroom, it needed towel rails and a peg on the back of the door for your bathrobe etc. I had a chat with the lovely landlady and she was aware of these issues and they are working to complete all outstanding niggles, they have only been in situ for 8 weeks so I fully expect upon our next visit all this will be finished. Thank you Nicola and all the other staff.

The rooms were really clean & mostly comfortable.
No food available as there was a function. A chair in the room (9) would have been really useful, also a towel rail in the bathroom as there was nowhere to put things. Bedside lamps, there wasn't any & the overhead lights were far too bright, even when switched off, they were in "emergency light mode" making sleeping quite a challenge. Our room was on the top floor & being disabled this too was a challenge. We should have been told this at the time of booking to give us the option of booking somewhere more appropriate.

Very clean and quiet. Good place to stay

We cycled from York to Staveley and Harleys was the perfect location. We were met with a real warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Our bikes were locked in a room overnight which worked brilliantly. We had the best breakfast and our really early start was accommodated too. We also ate in the evening and the food was great. Rooms were very clean and just what was needed after a long day's cycling.
Definitely recommend.
