Comfortable with fabulous vintage beach shack character.

Comfortable with character. The design of this place was superb, it’s a really solid timber construction with a fantastic beach shack vibe. Beautiful curved wooden staircase, faint nautical theme, a few portholes, larger windows, HUGE stack of books and DVDs. Great deck, 100m from the beach through the sand dunes. Beach is a long windswept one. Best suit a person who likes fresh air, wind, isolation and wants comfort in the character of a vintage style beach shack.

It was a little tricky to get in through all the locks but it worked. Not on town water (australian water tank style) but there is filtered drinking water available in the kitchen and you have to give up something for the isolation.

We really enjoyed Dolphin Beach House and would love to return in another season for new experience.

This cute beach house is in the most beautiful location I have ever seen. Nine miles of deserted pristine beach is just a few minutes walk from your door and the views from the balcony are nothing short of spectacular - The house had everything you could possibly need from books and games to well-equipped kitchen.

It was pretty grotty when we arrived - We honestly spent an hour cleaning - so dusty and the floor was covered in dead insects - But there was a vacuum on hand and cleaning supplies and once it was clean we loved it. I will go again - just be prepared to do a little nesting on arrival.

We booked 2 rooms for our family of 4- the penthouse and the ocean view. Both were outstanding. The penthouse was very spacious with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Right in town- perfect! Staff and locals exceptionally friendly Highly recommend.

The location was fantastic with private access to the beach which was only a 3 minute walk. The house itself had everything you needed plus a huge book and DVD library, lots of play things for the kids and an outdoor shower for after being at the beach which was a brilliant idea.

Secluded and in a beautiful location. Terrific view and you feel like you have a whole beach to yourself. Great for a quiet retreat or family stay. Friendly host who's quick to reply.

Direct access to the beach with fantastic views of the hazards - you might have it to yourself as well which is so special. Dolphin Beach House is so comfortable and you will feel right at home. Would definitely recommend and would love to return.

very charming beach house with character, located on a beautiful beach with a great view, very close to Wineglass bay and Bay of Fires, only 2 h away from Hobart! We had a fantastic time. highly recommended

Defintely pleasant, terrific secluded beach and great for kids

Quiet and private with close proximity to the beach. House was in generally good order with plenty of books and toys for the kids.

The place was generally clean, all the basics like bedding, towels, and facilities were completely fine. There are some areas for improvement that could make this property great such as updating cooking utensils and replacing the bbq (unusable) which are essential for the remoteness of the property, and the outdoor areas are disheveled and don’t match the beauty of the location.

Fantastic

Stunning views looking across to to the Hazards at Coles Bay. Very private and relaxing and lots of room. Only 2 adults travelling,but would be fine for a family as it has a great mezzanine level with bean bags and separate lounge area. Great little private spots! Great star gazing on the deck LOVED the place

We arrived at 4pm, so the sun was setting on a lovely sunny winters day, to a cold winters night. The house was quite cold and we had to wait for the heat pump to warm up the place( a few hours) I was a bit disapointed We had to clean the fire out( lots of ash build up) and then reset and bring in some more wood, no fire starters left in pack. The other FYI is for those sleeping down stairs take some hot water bottles as it was very cold as no electric blankets. Once you get The heating going up stairs was very cosy! These are just trivial things and and FYI for travellers form warm states that may be unprepared for our cold winter nights ( without electric blankets)
