Meget meget smukt og behageligt sted. Super venligt og hjælpsomt personale, der fik en til at føle sig hjemme. Værelset var virkelig rummeligt og der var den flotteste udsigt over Atlanterhavet.

One of the most wonderful stays in our entire life.
We loved the quitness, the breakfast (omg, the Pastel the Nata and the fruits!), the beds and pillows, very confortable.
All very clean, spacious, boem and the nices suprise is Duarte giving you tips and tricks at the begging of the day.
We haven’t got time to thank enough for the stay because we had to catch the flight but we really apreciate your effort you put in this place accomodation.
For sure we’ll recommend the stay.
Thank you,
Nadia & Hagi 😉
Not really a minus, more of a recomandation, some mosquitos nest would be useful

Location very quiet except for barking dogs, personell kind, and especially the home grown garden with fresh fruits.
Mosquitos nets on the windows would be really necessary to leave fresh cool air into the rooms during the night. Otherwise can be too warm at night.

One of the best places we stayed in Madeira. The owners take very good care of their guests and you can feel that they like what they do and try to do the best for you. The apartment was beautiful, spacious, and clean, with perfect views. Breakfast was delicious with nice service. Very comfortable beds. Clean swimming pool and nice garden. We would definitely come back again. Great personal approach.

Great location! We really enjoyed our vacation here. It was a good starting point for our hikes. The host also gave us valuable tips to explore Madeira.
This accommodation was a great choice. Here is nothing to worry about.

Amazing and warm welcome by Duarte, the owner of Quinta Paços do Lago. The service of the hotel staff was beyond my expectations. The Quinta is designed so exquisitely that for the period of time you are guests, it is like your very own luxurious house in the beautiful countryside of Madeira. A beautiful escapism with amazing staff service, our room was always well cleaned and presented whenever we returned from a busy day of exploring the island. I also loved the extra kindness of the staff in the mornings when they asked us how we wanted our eggs done every breakfast. There's no other place I'd reccomend more on Madeira than this Quinta, whether you are a lone traveler, a couple, or a family, the hotel accommodates for all customers and is set at an excellent price.
Nothing! Everything the Quinta offered was beyond my expectations

Ana Bela and her husband are great hosts, very friendly. We were welcomed with a small glass of Madeira wine and Ana Bela gave us some information on where to check the weather, good restaurants, taxi companies etc. We accidentally booked the apartment which was meant for 4 people (we were only 2). The view is amazing, the location is very peaceful. For 1 morning we booked breakfast for 12 eu per person. Ana Bela made everything fresh that morning, there was fresh tasty fruit and we could choose how we wanted our eggs. Ana Bela was kind enough to call a cab for us for our trip back to the airport, since this was really early in the morning. Would definitely recommend.
The only tiny thing is that We stayed here for the last couple of days of our trip to Madeira and there weren't really restaurants on walking distance and it also wasn't possible to order a Bolt (service like Uber), so we really had to use our car to go to a restaurant at night. It wasn't really a problem for us but might be good to take into account. Especially compared to the beautiful view and peaceful surrounding, we didn't care at all about this minor inconvenience.

Very kind hosts, good location for trips all over Madeira, spacious and well equipped apartment. Nice view on the ocean. We could sleep very well, because it was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Can only recommend this place. When we come back to Madeira we will certainly stay here.

My husband and I recently spent 4 nights in this accommodation and we were so satisfied with our visit! Both the bedroom and bathroom are generously sized, with plenty of space for storage and also to move around. The sitting room to the side of the bedroom offers a place to unwind after a day of hiking or sightseeing. The little balcony is a good place to take in the fabulous view of the village. All linen and towels were clean and in great shape. Good water pressure in the shower and the water temperature was usually good, although my husband said it was not as warm on one of the nights. Breakfast included a selection of different fruits and bakery items every day, as well as any style of eggs desired. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it looked splendid and clean. The grounds for the house are really inviting -- the breakfast area is really inviting and peaceful. A lot of good information about the island was provided upon check-in, as well as in the room (where to find weather information, where to dine out, etc.) On-site parking was very handy, as the location is removed from the city center, and a short distance uphill off of the highway. (Would highly recommend having your own rental car, as it just offers a lot of flexibility). Lastly, the owners, Duarte and Anna, are very kind, generous with their time, information and recommendations. We really enjoyed talking to them about this island since it was our first time here. We also really enjoyed talking to the young woman who hosts the breakfast area. (She gave us tips on the beaches and things to do in Funchal.) We would absolutely recommend a stay here!!
Perhaps the only thing I missed was not being able to open the windows at night because of the mosquitos, but it's understandable. (It was so nice to hear the goats and chickens from nearby in the morning!) The wooden floor can be noisy so we found easier to walk around in socks or barefoot.

The property is located in a picturesque place, the nature is amazing, I’ve never seen anything quite like it. I’ve travelled a lot and I can say that this is one of the top 3 places I’ve ever stayed at. Everything is made with love, very personal and lovely. The owner Duardo helped us a lot, we are especially thankful when he went and got medicine from the farmacy one day when we caught a stomach flu (probably on the plane on the way to Madeira). He also recommended us places to visit - we ended up having a lot of fun following his recommendations.
The place is very tranquil, very aesthetically build and has pretty much everything for a nice getaway.
This is not a minus, but it’s just necessary to have a car up there otherwise it’s hard to go anywhere.

It is difficult to find words to describe the excellence of this place and the kindness of the hosts. If someone asked me where is the most amazing place I have stayed during my travels, this place would definitely be mentioned. I will definitely be back!

The room was amazing - so beautiful with amazing views and it was huge. Loved the proper kettle and great walk in shower. We will definitely be back.
We could have seen more of the area if we’d hired a car but for 4 days we felt that we were ok without a car

This is an exceptional place to stay. The family that runs it is gracious, kind and helpful. The building is really beautiful and spacious. Breakfast al fresco was a treat. There is a lovely swimming pool for cooling off and the view from the property is wonderful. There are two interesting restaurants within walking distance. I did many lovely walks up and down the hills.
Visitors will need a car as it is about 10 kilometres from Funchal and off the main road. However there is excellent private parking.

Clean. Beautiful view. Near restaurants. Friendly staff. Pool and secured parking
It was all good

The hotel and rooms are very clean and feel luxurious. The owners are extremely hospitable and we felt really welcome.
The fact that we had two separate beds and not 1 kingsize bed.
also another (but small) downside was that it was really noisy and echoing inside the room because of the high ceilings.
other than that, I would highly recommend this place to everyone!

The Quinta is absolutely beautiful with amazing views. We stayed in a King room which included a large sitting room in addition to the bedroom and a huge bathroom. It was very comfortable and pristine! We had a car and enjoyed the location away from the hustle of Funchal and appreciated the on site parking. The breakfast was sufficient and included fresh fruit and avocados from the grounds. The gracious owners Ana Bela and Duarte are truly what set this inn apart however! They are both incredibly helpful and welcoming. Duarte is a structural engineer who helped build Madeira's amazing infrastructure (150 tunnels drilled through the volcanic mountain and and an airport runway built over the ocean). He is very interesting to talk to and very knowledgeable about the island and it's offerings. He happily offered recommendations for restaurants, hikes, activities and parking in Funchal! We loved our stay at Quinta Pacos do Lago and we hope to return in the future!
We loved everything about this hotel!

Nothing to improve

This was a wonderful choice for our stay our week in Maderia, which threw everything it had at us including an earthquake (which our room handled perfectly). The breakfast was a great start to each day, the room was comfortable and spacious, and our hosts couldn't have been any more accommodating. The location is also perfect for anyone that wants to be close to the island's most beautiful sites. We arrived at our room very late, and Duarte was there to greet us.
The only improvement we can think of is we would have preferred a single queen bed instead of two single ones pushed together.

Our room was larger than expected and the same applies to the bathroom. The wet area was enormous. The whole with nice floors and high ceiling's.
We didn't have breakfast at the property by our own choice but all looked pristine around us and our very large room had great views of sunset over sea and mountain.
I didn't like the fact that I could not stay much longer and that this place doesn't belong to me.
