Incredible renovation of a beautiful, historic property. The location is perfect for walking to grab a meal.

Great location! Nice, spacious property. Helpful hosts.
Bathrooms were not super private with slatted doors, and there was only one shower.

Spacious and historic
Everything was great

This property fit all 7 of us very comfortably. We only spent one night but could easily have enjoyed more time there. It was roomy and we could all spread out!
It is not a place for someone who has trouble with stairs as there are a few to climb.

Very convenient location. Very large, clean, comfortable space allowed for a lot of flexibility with our group for sleeping arrangements. Two separate toilet areas were convenient. Loved the wrap around patio. Lots of space for seating and dining.
Didn't love the shower/kitchen setup, but understand that there were limitations based on the building being designated as a historic site.

Central location, big rooms, nice balcony, cafe and shop below.
Large refrigerator did not work, two small refrigerators but no freezer; listed as 3 bathrooms but one was toilet and sink only, one was locked and unavailable; and third was shower and sink only (and you had through a bedroom and kitchen to get to shower).

This place is in a great location. It’s a quick walk to a lot of bars and restaurants and easy to call taxis to.
The interior was set up a little weird. It has a lot of potential and with some work will be an amazing place. Biggest concern was that the toilets have slatted doors so it’s very easy to hear whoever is in the bathroom. The building was clearly a restaurant so the set up is strange. To get to the kitchen and shower you have to go through the third bedroom. One of the twin beds is also in the dining room which is weird. There’s a lot of leftover lights and wiring from when it was a restaurant that need to be cleaned up. The floor was also pretty dusty, but I think that was just an unfortunate side effect of all the dust in the air.

Location was great. Easy walking distance to many things in Fort Christian and/or Charlotte Amalie waterfront area.
Several things to be careful of here. First we had 3 couples traveling. We were friends, not relatives. The apartment was supposed to have 2 full baths, a half bath, and 3 bedrooms. In actuality the set up was 2 water closets with louvered doors right off of the den area so everyone hears your business. It was two bedrooms with a study made into a bedroom in the back of the property. You had to walk through this back bedroom to get to the kitchen. It took forever for us to find the "full bath" which actually was not a "full bath" it was a shower found when you opened a small door off the back of the kitchen. So, anyone wanting to bathe had to walk through the back "bedroom" and through the kitchen and then only to shower. The set up was not as advertised and made for an interesting trip for 3 couples. In addition, the owner kept $50 of our deposit alleging that my wife and I put blue ink on the pillow cases of the room we stayed in. Not true, we didn't even have a pen on us. This wasn't noticed by the owner until AFTER the sheets were washed by the cleaning people at the public laundromat. Who knows what was in the washer or dryer used. My guess is the people who used it before left a blue pen in a pocket of something they washed and the ink got on the pillow cases. This was well after we left. Beware if you rent this unit. Set up is not as advertised and the owner may ding you on your deposit for no reason or a reason unrelated to your actions in the unit. We did not put a blue ink stain on any pillow case, much less both of them in our room.

The location was perfect. Right in the middle of town. Funky old place with lots of character.
They scammed us out of $160. We booked and paid $520 for one night in this apartment. They said it was going to cost $25 extra for two guests.
The total should have been $570. They charged us $730.
They said they charged us extra for:
early check in
late check out
guests that were already included in the price
an air bed that they didn’t even blow up
They nickel and dimed us for everything and I really didn’t appreciate it.

Kitchen could use an upgrade. Some guests may not like layout with kitchen and shower access through twin bedroom, but it was perfect for us. Can comfortably sleep 8, two half baths and one shower room. For longer stay kitchen might need to be stocked with more supplies. Feels like fortress very secure with padlocks on door and access gate - may concern guests looking for more luxury stay experience but perfect for our family and experienced travelers. Photo is view from nearby restaurant La Malfolie, not from property FYI.

we loved the balcony
the shower floor needed some more grout.

This is a large second floor apartment that makes one think of Bourbon Street in New Orleans. The air conditioning works quite well. There’s only a few blocks from the waterfront.
Although parking on the street is available, it was a little difficult to figure it out. One must be able to carry your luggage up and down several flights of stairs.

My 5 friends and I stayed at this property and had a great time! Central to beaches and close to the airport, we went to magens (most beautiful) and brewers (best snorkeling) and red hook area( lots of excursion options and restaurants, further 30 -45 min cab). Great food downstairs at the cafe and at the roti shop.
Nothing, we drank on the porch and walked around the cute little town and had a great time!

Plenty of room and space for large party. House was clean and very cold ac. Owner was very awesome with quick response.
Need update on the mattresses very uncomfortable and the fact that as big as the place was it only had 1 shower that was located in the kitchen which was very odd.

Not much was good. Close to city center, but extremely noisy from neighborhood music with persistent base, all night, both nights (could not sleep at all - owner offered ear plugs!). Was able to get keys a bit early.
Please see pics, this place is gross. No hot showers (even after they said it was fixed), filth everywhere (floors, walls, dishes, moldy shower, bath mat gross), kitchen with dirty dorm fridge, hot plate (no stove) and ants. Beds were uncomfortably hard and master was saggy. Owner's husband's reply on confrontation- at least you had shelter! We think that there is a reason that there were so few pictures in the listing. Owner refunded cleaning deposit, but that was not enough to make up for the shortcomings of this place. We think the owner took this listing off sites to try to make it harder for us to review it, after our numerous texts back and forth. We have never been so disappointed in a vacation rental, particularly for the price. I would have checked out, but I had no other option. No way I'd recommend it to anybody ever.
