INCREDIBLE VALUE - A MUST VISIT!

What can I say! The stay for my girlfriend Amy and I certainly exceeded our expectations. We were first greeted at the door by the delightful and very friendly Nick and Margie, with them making it clear how they can be very accommodating to our needs. The Old Potting Shed itself was a very cute and spacious and to our surprise had underfloor heating throughout the entire unit (bathroom and living area)! The bathroom was incredibly modern and I certainly took some photos for some interior design inspo for myself! The mattress and bed was huge and so comfortable which value a lot with weekends away and was certainly a tranquil sleep for the both of us. Nick asked what time we wanted our breakfast and notified us with a little knock where there was a lovely hamper with exactly what you need for your continental breakfast needs and we had some leftovers too to take with us for lunch whilst exploring the York city. A booklet describing the bus timetables, taxi services, local pub eateries etc was provided which saved us a lot of pre-research time and they also notified us of temporary attractions in the city so we could make the most of our visit. For me, there is simply nothing to fault and it is incredibly good value for money and is only £2 adult bus ticket that takes only 15mins to get into central York. I honestly recommend this to anybody who wants to visit York whether it be a weekend or longer due to the incredible value offered in comparison to the central serviced accommodation units which I believe are overpriced just for because they are central. Thank you again Nick and Margie - we will certainly be returning!

Restful, relaxing and beautiful stay with amazing breakfast

The comfortable bed and beautifully decked out bathroom. The breakfast was delicious, fresh AND warm! Couldn’t have asked for better… Also loved the provided bath robes!

The Potting Shed is exceptional. Very clean & spacious with lots of little extra touches. You have your own courtyard to sit out in weather permitting & breakfast was delicious delivered to your door. It is in a lovely part of York & we used the park & ride which is a 5 minute drive down the road which took the stress out of finding somewhere to park. We would highly recommend it, you'd be in for a treat.

We had an amazing stay.

Breakfast was delivered in a hamper at a time of our choosing. Fresh fruit, a choice of cereals and yoghurts, warm croissants, toast, preserves, fresh fruit juice and tea or coffee. It was delicious and we looked forward to it arriving every day! The bed was large and comfortable. There was a private outdoor seating area. Our room had everything we needed and some extra touches like the bathrobes and the spa-like toiletries and candles in the bathroom. It felt indulgent. We were surrounded by countryside and close to cycle trails and good walks yet only a 15m drive from York.

I honestly can’t think of anything. The Old Potting Shed is quite a find. The hosts have created something a little bit different and we would rebook without hesitation.

A beautiful, immaculately clean, spacious accommodation, on the edge of the village, with everything you could possibly need for your stay (the bathroom is stunning btw) !! …. Continental Breakfast was plentiful and varied, and really sets you up for the day … a great property, and the hosts Margie and Nick are very friendly and accommodating … we will definitely return here in the future though 👍🏻

Amazing posh shed weekend break.

A hidden treasure in a beautiful location. Very posh and great use of space. Very cosy and clean and modern. Breakfast was beautifully delivered. Plenty to start the day. Great features within the room. Our hosts were very thoughtful and friendly.

The Best place if you look for a relaxing holiday!

Our stay at The Old Potting Shed was excellent, we would give 100 stars if we could! The room was SUPER clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very very good! Thank you Nick and Margie for everything!

Perfect getaway for a few nights

We stayed for 3 nights and the accommodation was spotless. Enjoyed the breakfast and the hosts couldn’t do enough for us. Would make a return for sure

What a lovely place to stay, fantastic location being 10 minutes from York centre The lodge itself was beautifully presented, lovely and clean with everything you need, and all the nice touches that make your stay so much more enjoyable. Nick & Margie where great hosts, breakfast was perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the old potting shed to anyone and just wished we could of stayed longer.
