This was an unexpected lovely surprise in the beautiful surroundings of Rathvilly. The cottage is beautifully decorated with interesting art pieces, and the accommodations are spacious, quiet and comfortable. Our host, Barbara, could not have done more to make us feel welcome.
Nothing.

Completely and utterly idyllic. Blown away by the scenery, coziness, and tranquility. And having Barbara as our host made the trip even more special.
That we couldn’t stay for longer.

very private, quiet and relaxing, kitchen had everything you need for cooking any meal, and you can even wash and dry clothes if needed, lovely open fire, I assume you can light it, we didn’t need it. bedroom huge and very comfy bed, bathroom also lovely, shower and bath, if you like to soak in radox. I’m sure I missed other good bits, check it out to find out for yourself.

This is a lovely little cottage for a get-away in rural Carlow. We used it as a base for going walking/hiking and it was perfect. You do need car access to get to it. The cottage is well-kept and very cosy. Barbara is an excellent host (the cottage is behind her house) and I would be very happy to stay there again.
Everything was lovely!

Beautiful house and gardens
was advertised as dog friendly, i even contacted the owner prior to booking saying was 3 small dogs ok and was told yes. however on arrival it was apparent they were not really welcome, i was not allowed to use the courtyard but did have access out back to beautiful lawn, was told to keep dogs close to me at all times.. These are not aggressive dogs at all and just like to do zoomies but apparently they were not country dogs.. but to cut a long story short.. i was so stressed out by the owner hovering and restrictions that i could not relax,, so left next day.. please do not advertise dog friendly if you're not comfortable with dogs..

A beautiful cottage in a very peaceful part of Ireland. Barbara made us feel really welcome and gave us plenty of information about the local area. The cottage had everything we needed and was the perfect size for two of us and our Border Collie. There was also a very large field for him to exercise in, which was a real bonus! The courtyard acts as a great sun trap too. The cottage is perfectly located for walks in the southern Wicklow Mountains, and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

A beautiful, peaceful and elegant little cottage situated behind electric gates on a private estate. Amazing gardens, and a well equipped and cosy home.
Just to note that the staircase is open, so there is no barrier between the upstairs and downstairs. If you are sharing with someone who has a different bed-time it's just something to be aware of!

Ok so first off, the location is just perfect... Quiet and out on its own and just what anyone who wants to get away form it all, saying that sometimes we still need that connection... and that is via the internet! Let me tell you this, the connection at Courtyard cottage was giving me a consistent 97 down and a 96 up! Yes you read that correct 96up and this is not killabites this is full blown mbs!
I pay over 80 euro a mth for virgin and I get 500 down and 50 up . To get 100 up and down in a remote relaxing off the grid location with a honestly amazing host is perfect. Cannot wait to be back and I hope you enjoy your stay.

The cottage is set in idyllic surroundings within the beautifully kept grounds of a lovely country house. It is extremely well-maintained and equipped with everything necessary for a relaxing stay. The extra large bed is very comfortable and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Barbara, the host, left a welcome pack which included all the ingredients for cooked breakfasts. The little courtyard in which the cottage is situated is a real sun trap and very private.
Nothing.

Barbara is a lovely and knowledgeable host. The cottage had all the amenities we needed for a very comfortable stay in the Carlow countryside. We will be back to continue our walks along the Barrow.
