Great location at the top of Amelia Island. Easy run or bike ride to enter Fort Clinch St Park off the beach. Saw lots of gopher tortoises. The house need some TLC, better cleaning crew. Found cell phone under bed and other items cleaning crew missed. Mold on vents. Overall loved Fernandina Beach, especially the breweries in downtown. Fernandina beach filled the void of Sanibel while they rebuild. This was the first summer in 23 years we did not go to Sanibel Island.

We loved the house and the entire Amelia area. Beach and water were both perfect. House well supplied with things you need! Sadly, we had to leave 2 days early because of Hurricane Ian but we want to go back!

This is a beach home, not a beach house. Everything you need is there.

Our family had an amazing time in Fernandina Beach thanks to a lovely home, wonderful setting, and attentive owner. This is our second year in Fernandina Beach, and we love the area. It is a quiet beach town that is perfect for families with lots of activities, great restaurants, and "rollercoaster waves" (according to a certain kid)
The oceanfront cottage is located near the north end of Fernandina Beach where we often had the beach to ourselves. Having the beach just a quick walk out the back door was such a huge bonus for us. There was no need to haul everything we might need to the beach. We could head to the beach and if we needed something, we were only a 1 minute walk from the house. We didn't do as much cooking as we normally do on vacation, but the kitchen was big enough you could cook whatever you need. Every morning (except one, we had to go to Hola Cuban Cafe) we ate breakfast at the breakfast bar. The beds were all very comfortable and our daughter loved her special room upstairs.
We were pleasantly surprised by the wildlife around the property. Our daughter was so excited every morning to go outside and look for "Gus", her name for the tortoise who lived in the dunes just behind the house. Every night we were able to watch white tailed deer come south from the state park to forage in the dunes behind the house. We often had pelicans flying over the ocean and got to watch various sea birds hunt in the waters just a quick walk from the house. If you enjoy wildlife and have kids please try the Amelia Island Cruises Shrimp Eco Tour. Experiencing history, getting to handle the local fresh caught wildlife, and learn about them was so much fun.
Chris was very helpful throughout our stay. We completely understand that at some point, things break down. Unfortunately, the refrigerator went out just before we arrived. Chris was on it before we even realized it was a problem and worked tirelessly to get a replacement. She also came by personally to help provide some high quality coolers and ice to keep our food fresh until a replacement could be found, which arrived very quickly.
We aren't sure if our next family vacation will bring us to Fernandina beach but if it does we will first look to see if the Oceanfront Cottage is available.

We had another great stay at the red cottage at the top of the beach. Our kids love the bedroom upstairs, and the primary bedroom/bath are very comfortable with a great view of the ocean. The downstairs refrigerator and freezer were broken, which was unexpected but not too big of a deal (since we'd stayed here before we were counting on having it), but unfortunately the upstairs fridge and freezer was also suffering from some problems, and as a result, all our ice cream melted, twice. We spent several days fiddling with it, thinking it was something we had done (it kept things cold, but not frozen...), then bought more ice cream, thinking we had fixed it...but, alas, when we let Chris know, we learned it was a known issue and wasn't the first time. We wish we had known to look out for this so we could have reported it right away, rather than fiddling with the settings and hoping to resolve it on our own. It did put a bit of a damper on the trip (no ice cream for 3 little girls at the beach is a bummer!) but we also appreciated Chris sending us a few items we left behind and understand these things aren't always under the owner's control. She is very responsive overall.
Overall, we love this part of Fernandina; the beach is practically private, it's so quiet, and the shark tooth hunting is excellent and a fun family activity. The pier, showers, and deck are all in great shape and the beach chairs and toys provided add a lot to the experience. One of our favorite things is stargazing from the two chairs out in the middle of the pier at night. I think we would return just for that alone! But it's a comfortable house, especially for a family of 5- with 7 (4 adults/3 kids), which we had at the latter half of our trip, it got a little tight. It's a special place and we hope to return.

The house is ideally located directly on and facing the beach away from the busy part of Fernandina Beach. It would have been helpful to have some instructions for the TV/cable, the nest thermostat and the trash/recycling. To check-out, one must leave through the garage door and quickly duck under as it is closing (it took me a few attempts.)

House is nicer than the pictures tell. Everything we needed and more was supplied including bikes, skim boards, camping chairs, soap, TP, paper towels and even spices, oils etc. Beach was private as there are only houses in this area. There is a a 2 foot diameter pipeline running the entire length of the beach for dredging so that’s a little unsightly, but didn’t bother us. You step over it as you walk to the beach. Worth it to be in this private area.

Very clean, appreciated that paper products and soap etc. were included, loved being right on the ocean, easy check in/out, well stocked kitchen, comfy bed. Good communication with host

Amazing house and location!! Very clean. Great deck and master bedroom! Check in is a bit confusing if following the instructions on vrbo but we figured it out eventually:). We’ve been coming to the island for years and this is our new favorite place to stay. Thank you to the owners for sharing this property.

Loved this property! Away from the chaos, quiet beach front, less tourists, had beach toys for the kids, kitchen and linens well stocked. Thank you for helping us have a wonderful week on Amelia Island. My only disapointment was that the bike tires were beyond repair.

We greatly enjoyed the house. The location is fantastic, the beach was right there and the house was just a few houses from a state park. We literally had the whole beach to ourselves. The house was perfect for our group of six. The layout is so functional and everything just flowed so well. We enjoyed the kitchen (including a view of the beach) and loved eating outside on the back patio. My kids, ages 7 and 5, completely loved their room, complete with a book nook, pirate books, and great beds. My in-laws loved their room and were very comfortable. My wife and I loved the master suite, great closet and bathroom, and we loved the view of the beach from the master bedroom. The beach toys, shovels, diggers, were helpful. The gas grill was very nice. We greatly enjoyed our stay and it's the first vrbo house that my wife truly wants to visit again. It's a great house!

We enjoyed our stay on the quite north end of the beach. This property only sleeps 6 not 8 as it states on VRBO. As others have noted, there is a table with 4 chairs but you have to move all the furniture around to use it. Only a problem if you are a game playing family when not at the beach. There is a bar that sits 6 which is perfect for eating meals. Kitchen is well stocked. There is a second fridge in the carport which was nice. We are use to an empty fridge and some items were left but we just stored them on one of the shelves. All in all we had a wonderful time with family and found more shark’s teeth than ever before. Thanks

Great house in the best location on the island! Quiet area. Very glad we chose this house over all the other choices. Well- equipped, well-decorated, very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay!

What a beautiful place! This home is super cute and well equipped with anything you chirps possibly need (except a dining room table). The location is truly amazing. You basically have the whole beautiful beach to yourself. Our kiddos had so much fun playing in the water and looking for shark teeth (we found lots) and the adults loved sitting on the porch enjoying the view everyday. Highly recommend this beautiful place.

We really enjoyed our stay here and had one of our best VRBO vacations. Very much appreciated the labels in the kitchen and ease to find information. The keypad needs to be replaced but if you hit the code a few times it will finally work. A minor detail in an otherwise fantastic rental.
