Mermaid’s Moon has just been completely renovated to give you 21st century amenities while staying true to the romance of the past. It boasts smart TVs with 214 channels including premium sports and movies plus newly-upgraded WiFi throughout, all free. The living room opens onto a huge, beachfront private patio and features a 65-inch TV and a hearty selection of books—enough to keep the testiest crew entertained.
The kitchen boasts stainless-steel appliances—double-oven range with glass cooktop, warming center, and convection option; including refrigerator with crushed and cubed ice; large microwave, dishwasher, and a separate ice machine for drinks or loading coolers to tote outdoors. You’ll also find an Instant Pot and a crockpot. The dining table and breakfast bar each seat six.
Mermaid's Moon has four bedrooms and three full baths (including two master suites) as well as a bunk room and can comfortably sleep 12 in real beds. (Pirates do not believe in sleeper sofas.) It has two separate air conditioning systems and two water heaters.
The Captain's Cabin features a supremely luxurious memory foam king bed, a 50-inch TV, and views of both the pool and the beach through the window wall with sliding glass door that opens onto its own poolside patio. The en-suite bathroom has double sinks, a separate shower, and a gloriously oversized soaker tub.
The Quartermaster's Cabin has a luxurious memory foam king bed, a 43-inch TV, and views of the beach from two walls of windows and a sliding glass door that opens onto the big main patio. The adjacent full bathroom is off the private hall that links it and the bedroom.
The First Mate's Cabin also features a luxurious memory foam king bed, a 43-inch TV and a beach view through the nautical mullioned window.
The large Second Mate’s Cabin sleeps four in an upper double bunk with a lower double and has a 32-inch TV.
The Forecastle sleeps two in a bunk room tucked off the living room. It has its own 24-inch TV.
In addition to the Captain's and Quartermaster’s en-suite baths, Mermaid's Moon has an additional well-appointed bathroom with a large shower.
The Main Deck (or ‘patio’) stretches almost the full length of Mermaid's Moon and can be accessed from both the living room and the Quartermaster's Cabin. From here you can also slip out the gate onto the short path to the pool. The Aft Deck, right off the Captain's Cabin, gives you easy access to the pool and has views of the entire pool deck and the beach.
You'll find a spacious patio with barbecue grills and picnic tables right outside your front door. The resort also features a tennis court and shuffleboard deck, and a local company offers parasailing adventures, wave runners and banana boat rides in season. Mermaid’s Moon has room to stash beach chairs/toys in its Cargo Bay with full-size washer and dryer.

This weekend was my birthday and my husband and my 30th Anniversary. We stayed here with my children and their families and some friends. The layout of the house was perfect for the age ranges and it was well stocked with dishes. We cooked each meal here without issue. The ice machine was very nice to have when filling small coolers for the beach. The pool location was perfect to just walk out of one of the bedrooms. I was a little worried about the number of bathrooms, but that was never an issue. The littles were able to watch tv while going to sleep so they were happy.

We enjoyed our stay, close to the beach and pool. The condo could have been cleaner upon arrival - we had to strip two beds and wash sheets/comforter, one bathroom had a toilet not working well, and one bunk room did not cool off. Other than those minor things, the place was great. We really enjoyed our vacation there!

The condo was clean upon arrival and felt huge. Plenty of space for our family of 11. They decorated so nicely, making it fun for all. The pool has direct access which was so nice with kids. Beach access steps away. We enjoyed our trip and would definitely book again!

We had 9 people with us and this place was perfect! The condo was so nice and spacious and was stocked very well, especially with kitchen supplies. They didn’t have pot holders/oven mitts which I thought was strange since they had so much else but other than that we had no complaints on the condo. They also had tons of kids beach toys and some chairs for you to use during your stay which I also thought was super nice. There where no bugs whatsoever and everything was clean.I will say I wish they gave instructions on what to do if you arrive after 4:30 when the office is closed and you can’t get parking passes or arm bands. And we had a pest control guys come in and spray during our stay so I would have like to have known it was scheduled during our stay. Oh and last thing, the internet was not very good but who comes on vacation for internet anyways lol. Overall though it’s a super nice place to stay with a nice pool and easy access to the beach. I would definitely recommend!

What a wonderful place to stay for an adult group. The HOA President and residents were all great. Some of the residents even joined us for music and cookout!! We left extra cleaning supplies and TP for the next guests. Hope they also pay it forward 😀

The inside of the condo is nice; however, the king sized beds need to be replaced as they are warped and you will roll to the middle of the beds when sleeping. The pool and outside area are very small, so definitely do not rent if you want a nice pool area. You are, however, directly on the beach - next to the empty Club La Vela - so there is plenty of beach space.
The "security guard/manager" was extremely rude, especially towards our children and family. We walked on egg shells the entire time so we didn't disrupt the retirement community like atmosphere. It is definitely not a family friendly place, as we were asked not to be loud, splash, play, etc. There were no other children, teenagers, or people under 50. If this applies to you, then this is the perfect retirement condo for you! We will not, however, ever rent from this complex again. For the steep price, find somewhere more friendly.

Unit has been renovated, spacious and decor is cute. The unit was great size for our multi generational group. We enjoyed to close proximity to pool and beach and covered porch area. Unit had everything you needed in the kitchen and baths including crockpots and an instapot. We didn’t use either but I would have liked to know that before packing ours from home. Vacuum didn’t work and being a 1st floor unit we needed the vacuum with sand. Minor inconveniences were - Dryer wasn’t working/heating properly (took hours to dry a load) and one of the king beds needed maintenance because the middle supports were bent and caused you to roll toward center. Internet service on Smart TV wasn’t working in master bedroom but they were able to watch regular TV. The code for the door quit working day prior to our departure. Rental agency set up new code and it worked for few hours then quit working again. We were leaving next day so we managed with someone being in the unit to answer the door. Overall, we enjoyed the unit and would stay again if minor issues were fixed.

Excellent condo just needs a shower head repair in bathroom #3. If tub baths are your thing, then it won’t matter. I love this location and all the room in this condo! I will rent again.

Great location
Very clean condo and wonderful staff. Easy check in and loading/unloading zone. I was worried because my father is on a walker and was concerned about him walking long distance from the parking lot. He was able to pull close to the office and only had to walk a short distance to our condo. Loved the nightly security that was present. Definitely recommend this condo. Plenty of room for our family. Had a party of 11.

The pool was nice too and we could walk straight out there from our patio because we were on the ground floor. No waiting on elevators either! Kitchen was well stocked and even had a separate ice machine, TV’s in every room, even the small bunk room. Great location in Panama City Beach with a close Walmart and pharmacies, restaurants, etc. Ice cream store almost right on the property was awesome! My only negative comments would be that the building needed some upgrading on the outside (but inside the condo was lovely) and they are a little over the top about you wearing your wristbands, but I know they are trying to do this to keep things secure. Would come back again.

However the problem that i had 2-3 weeks before my reservation i tried to get ahold of the property manager and never got back with me on parking passes and our code to get in when we arrived. Got there on mother's day weekend and no one was in the office at the property cause of covid reasons. Long story short the owners ghosted me after they got there money. Still to this day. I have haven't heard anything from them. If it wasn't for the maintenance personnel at the property i probably wouldn't not of be able to get into my condo. My property owners just sucked in my opinion.

The ground level unit is a fantastic place to vacation with your family. The unit is perfectly placed to the community pool and to the walkway to the beach. All hard surface floors are a plus! Upon arrival we had not received the code for the lock on our unit. The security guard at the Moondrifter was very accommodating with helping us to get into the unit. He made phone calls for us and we did get the code the next morning. We also had a small problem with ants in the master bedroom. The maintenance department was there immediately to take care of this problem for us. I would suggest for the cleaning crew to leave more than two garbage bags for a week stay. Also, dishwashing liquid would also be a nice perk. If your family is staying for more than a few days, I would suggest to take paper towels, garbage bags, dish soap and all condiments for your stay. The community grills do need to be cleaned. I do not recommend using them! The pool is wonderful! The location of the condo is wonderful to all restaurants and shopping! I would stay in this unit again.
