Great small house in tiny town
Great house with nice outdoor areas although you have to climb the hill for a view. Very clean and tasteful. Wifi for our phones was very challenging although it worked well on my laptop. Nice to have restaurant and coffee shop right across the street although they have limited opening hours. This town is also a magnet, apparently, for motorcycles so it gets pretty loud during the day with Harleys blasting away. Quiet in morning and at night so if you're out during middle of the day, no problem. Nice hikes and the Parkway are very close.

the location was secluded and the decor and property itself was gorgeous. The only thing I didnt like was landscapers outside making noise at 8:30 am on Saturday. But other than that, I would stay here again.

Merci bo que!
Thank you so much for the delightful stay! We loved the decor and everything about the house. We spent nights by the firepit, telling spooky stories, listening to mountain sounds and roasting hot dogs. We recommend the coffee/bookshop across the street. And we had a fun time at Linville Falls, hiking Carvers Gap and visiting Linville Winery. Thanks for your fantastic recommendations and a great stay!

Delightful place to stay. Love the interior design. Comfortable seating and comfortable bed. We finally got to the treehouse and got a view for awhile in between rain showers.

Amazing!
What a lovely chalet! Very comfortable and we LOVE the treehouse. Fabulously decorated inside and out. We even had some passerby compliment the landscaping. Took a short trip into Spruce Pine and ate at the Tropical Grill - highly recommended - food was amazing! Thank you for sharing such an amazing place!

Retreat for a week
We enjoyed our stay here in the cottage. It was centrally located to a lot of hikes and exploring the area. We also met some very interesting local people. Thank you for providing a lovely place to “get away from it all” for our week’s stay.

Beautiful Cottage
We had a wonderful anniversary stay at the beautiful La Petit Chalet. My decorator wife was smitten with the French inspired design of the interior. I was smitten with the exterior landscaping. Although the landscaping is only 10 years old, it looks like it has been there forever. I cannot imagine the amount of work it took to create the magical setting that exists today. The location is directly across 226A from the Little Switzerland Cafe and the bookstore, and while only a one minute walk away, they cannot be seen from the Chalet thanks to the gorgeous and dense landscaping. The cafe serves only lunch between the hours of 11 and 4, but you can order any of their delicious food to go and enjoy it later at a picnic on the Parkway or for dinner in the Chalet or the Treehouse. Their pulled pork BBQ was some of the best we have tasted and their whole smoked trout was delicious. The bookstore is also a coffee shop, and sells scrumptious pastries from 9 to 5 as well as providing free wifi. Cell service was pretty sketchy in this location for my T-Mobile SIM card, but a good signal was available up the hill in the tree house. The photos on the website are a very accurate representation of the property. You will not be dissapointed.

Perfect Cottage
It was a wonderful weekend, loved the house! The only complaint I have is the address takes you 1.5 hours away you MUST put in La Petite Chalet, Little Switzerland, NC. If you put in the address of the property you will be driving EXTRA. I met my sister there and we drove from two different starting points and both ended up at the wrong location.
The rest of the house was WONDERFUL!

Perfect!
Sitting on the front porch enjoying the early morning mountain mist, sipping hot coffee as a yellow swallowtail floats by.....All is well in the world!
This is not the first time we’ve been to Little Switzerland but it’s the first time we’ve stayed in the quaint and charming La Petite Chalet! We found some “treasures” at the local gem mine and walked on the georgous flowering bridge by Lake Lure.
Today we are going to see the waterfalls, take a ride up to Roan Mountain to see the Rhododendrons, then off to the Biltmore.
Our stay here was perfect! Thank you!

A Happy Place
We thank you Jack for all of the color and whimsical touches that attracted me to your Swiss Chalet years ago... I’ve had my eye on this place for sometime now... and I finally found the perfect time to be here. My first trip since the Pandemic. So sweet is this place. My sister Cynthia’s 63rd birthday and also a special reunion with her college roommate Judy when they were in nursing school 42 years ago!! And last but not least, It was my pleasure to experience this magical Chalet nestled in wonderment of this storybook setting...where we all were happy to be together here at LaPetiteChalet.

Enjoyed our Christmas get-a-way, loved the decor, however was not prepared for the high windows, no view of anything. The house was really cute, but was dusty, even tho it was comfortable, and the beds were great! If you are looking for total seclusion and no view of outside, this is for you, I'm sure hikers/kayakers would enjoy their stay here as they would be gone all day!

Gem in NC Mountains
La Petite Chalet is a charming, well-kept property with gorgeous grounds in Little Switzerland, NC. The colorful interior has high- quality furnishings selected with personality and good taste. I was very pleased with the cleanliness upon arrival. Once we found the "tree house", we enjoyed lunch with the fabulous view. Please note that the closer "glass house" is not the outside structure offered for guest use. The open-air tree house is farther removed, and we originally mistook it to be on the neighboring property. We also very much enjoyed the beautiful landscaping, special yard art, the fire pit area, and the rustic stone steps and walkways. The cottage and grounds are obviously a work of love with ongoing improvements for guests to enjoy.

Charming
I would give this 4.5 stars if an option. The house and property are very charming and comfortable, just as the photos depict. The location is great as far as being in the mountains and just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The only negative about the location is the noise associated with being just across from Little Switzerland businesses and next to the post office. Landscaping provides a nice buffer but nothing can block the noise of the motorcycles. Of course it is also nice to be able to walk across the street for good food and drink. The "treehouse" is a very nice bonus - just need a little better directions on how to get to it the first time. The house interior was not completely clean, but acceptable. WiFi would be nice to have, especially since cell service is spotty. The Switzerland Inn chalet/restaurant was only serving their overnight guests so we couldn't eat there, but downtown Spruce Pine has several good options.

Charming Cottage in Little Switzerland
La Petite Chalet is every bit as beautiful and homey as the photos show. Big comfy couches and chairs invite you to curl up for a long stay. Every touch is perfection, even the dinnerware and glassware. Weren’t sure about wood for the fire pit so left a message for Jack, and he dropped by to welcome us. Had dinner at the Little Switzerland Inn on Friday night and were able to sit out on the Terrace. Great food, great view! Went back and enjoyed the fire pit and some wine. Good thing we did, because the next morning when we got up, it was pea soup! So we finally ventured out into the fog and drove along the Parkway to the Orchard at Altapass where we bought apples and enjoyed some mountain music and watched the cloggers. Back for lunch at the Little Switzerland Cafe across the street (great homemade food!) and a visit to Books and Beans. Then we put those comfy couch and chairs to good use! Would love to return, hopefully with a little better weather, but enjoyed the chance to relax after a couple of crazy weeks for both my friend and I. Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

The website pics had us hooked but....
WOW!!!!
From the moment we saw the cabin pics online, it was decided here we would stay!
Once we arrived, we’ve spent our time finding new treasures at every step! Chris was able to explore several trails (between the raindrops) and I spent that time relaxing and absorbing the peace here.
Thanks for sharing your delightful treasure with us!

Best on the Blue Ridge Parkway
The Chalet is comfortable and quiet. Your Gardens are wonderfully tranquil as well. We came here for a girls weekend and to disconnect from our everyday lives. We really enjoyed the property. I have never been to Little Switzerland and found it to be centrally located to Linville Falls and Linville Cavern. We also enjoyed going to Emerald Village and planning for gemstones. I love that the Blue Ridge Parkway is easily accessible. We really enjoyed our weekend!

The Best!
We had a great weekend at La Petite Chalet. This was our first visit to Little Switzerland. We were in the area for a race my husband was running at Mt. Mitchell.
The decor at La Petite Chalet is so cute and fun! It’s located in a great place. We really enjoyed walking across the street to the bookstore for coffee/breakfast and around the corner to the Switzerland Inn for dinner. This won’t be our last visit - we had a great time!
