Location.
The room was very small, outdated and requires refurbishing. Bathroom was tiny and good job I’m small as difficult to get into the shower. Bedroom, bathroom, also curtains are too shot and thin for the window directly under your head of the bed so light woke me up at around 4:30am. Carpet on the stairs is thread bare, tatty and requires replacing.

Room has everything you need. Bed comfortable, variety of pillows and quilt nice and soft.
Bathroom is very good, shower is powerful.
They give you a good amount of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, nice shortbread biscuits.
Had to leave for a work trip before breakfast starts at 7.30 am, and they made me a good bacon and sausage roll with a carton of OJ. Had asked them about this the day before.
Didn't enjoy the breakfast last time I stayed here, but it was much better this time.
The location is excellent.
What everyone says, the stairs and carpets are dingy. Really need better lighting on the stairs. And could do with better lighting in the rooms, some wall lights would help.

Location.
Carparking arrangement. The receptionist said there was only a small hotel carpark and it was full. I asked for alternatives and she said she did not know. I said I passed a small public carpark nearby was that ok for overnight stay? She said she did not know. I said where is there overnight? She said she did not know. I had parked in a nearby supermarket and had to walk around the town until I found I could park at the railway station for a charge. Which I did. I wear hearing aids and had asked for her to speak up which she never tried to do. I will not be staying at that hotel again.

We had the 2 course evening meal which was excellent and really very good value. The breakfast was very good and had a excellent choice.
I know it isn't the season but some entertainment on a Saturday night would have been good.

The room was a decent size and was clean and tidy, the bathroom had bath with a decent shower with plenty of hot water. The room was to the front of the building by the main road but you would never have guessed as to how quiet it was. The staff were very nice and friendly.
The room felt a little chilly as did the bathroom. But it was beginning of January and the weather was pretty wet and windy outside.

our room and the hotel was warm. great location and lovely staff.
at breakfast toast was brought to your table which was so much better than toasting it yourself like so much other hotels make you do.

There is not much to be negative about. The hotel is old so some areas reflect this but it is being refurbished internally and external.
Good value for what you are paying.

Location
Ridiculously overpriced hotel.
Dated decor. Run down. Very difficult to sleep as you can hear the next room clearly. Noisy.
I also complained and the manager was not interested in hearing my situation .
Will never be back. Spend your money in a better hotel

Fantastic location and brilliant staff. Lovely comfortable bed and very clean room. A little dated and tired looking but please don't lose the character and charm when considering updating.
Creaky bedroom floors and noisy plumbing - expected in a building of this age but could do with some consideration at some stage.
3.5
Our room view. The pub atmosphere, had an accordion player and Irish dances etc….
