It was on the water
No Wi-Fi in the room. Spider webs everywhere. I couldn’t rent any of there Bicycles

3.8
you can rent bicycle from there as it’s far from center
they will never do your room in 5days stay… expensive for what you get
3.8
The location 15min walk away from the center gives it a calm ambience + Hamacs are great.
The bicycle were in pretty bad shape, the service was not that great. Also the rooms were extremely warm even with opening the windows in the evening (+ not the hot season)
3.8
nice balcony and hammock outside the room. rented bikes from reception. room has a mosquito net over the bed

The Riverside hut room was very basic and uncomfortable. By 7pm, there are a lot of insects meaning it is impossible to be outside. Would not recommend staying in one of these. I was kindly allowed to move rooms on charge and moved to the garden villa which was a lot better. Its quite a far walk from the pier and you have to be prepared to be attacked by insects in the evening. I decided to book at another Hotel the following night and felt that the staff were unfriendly about this

Beautiful private bungalow with a view out onto the river from the front door. Porch front had a hammock which was perfect for chilling in. Awesome breakfast too. It's about a fifteen minute walk to the main part of town, making it a very peaceful and quiet location.

we weren’t too comfortable in the bungalow we had booked so we upgraded to an air con room, and the staff were very good with accommodating this.
we upgraded to an air con room which was extremely pleasant, spacious, clean. would definitely recommend the air con room especially at the highest heat of summer in Laos which is when we visited
the bungalow we had initially booked wasn’t entirely to our comfort level. the windows and door didn’t close properly which left gaps for bugs to come in (and due to riverside location there was lots of mosquitos coming in). also the light bulb didn’t work as well as others, we knew we would struggle to get around in the dark. for these reasons we upgraded to an air con room on the first day so cannot comment further on how an overnight stay in the bungalow would have been.
also, as it was hottest point of year we preferred to have air con over a fan in the bungalow, which is obviously not the fault of the property but the hot season
3.8
the location is quiet far from everything in the island, bathroom is smelly from the standing water and the room is not insect proof.
3.8
the view on the river was very nice.
staff was not friendly or helpful. room was dirty, sink and toilet and door to bathroom were broken.
3.8
Clean and comfy beds, nice view from balcony. Can’t complain for £6 each a night!
Only negative was that we didn’t get the room we booked, so be aware you’ll probably just be shoved in whatever available room.
3.8
The location was okay, in the middle of restaurants and bars without being noisy. The room was average with good air con.
The rooms could use a good clean and lick of paint. The walls had various marks and “droppings” on, it made it feel very unclean. Bugs got in through the gaps in all the windows, door and floor. The staff on reception were not very friendly or helpful - to the point where another accommodation had to book our transfers and rent us bikes. He seems to have a “don’t talk to me” attitude.

Location was ok.
The owner was incredibly rude. When we discovered bedbugs and 1000 insects who were attracted by the filthy toilet we asked for a clean room which wasn´t possible because the hotel was ´fully booked´. 1 hour later miracoulasly they had a room available. Which we did not accept. We left at 23 o´clock to another hotel. Please do not stay here, stay at a family owned guesthouse with owners who are proud of their Lao- heritage and who want to make you feel at home.

love this place in the morning, everything is too beautiful and relax
i mean if you want to be quiet and really relax, you should be there
the staff speaks English not good for communication
3.8
nice view and good cook
value for food
during the roads improvements,, taking a long walk/cycling on the bumpy roads to the main city
3.8
Comfortable bed, large rooms, enough facilities, ok wi-fi.
Location wasn’t good too far away from town centre, rooms where not clean (15-20min walk), we had mice poop in the bathroom, we had a lot of insects around and in the room and staff barely spoke any english.
3.8
Comfortable beds. Good wifi
When we checked in the bed linen where not changed (full of hair and ants from previous guests) and the room was overall poorly cleaned. The staff don’t speak a word of English. The location is far from the restaurants. Expensive considering what you get.

The host Lyn went above and beyond to cater to our needs. She is helpful, warm, funny and speaks excellent english. She is well connected in the islands and with her brother in law running a boat one is set for all kind of adventure. Absolutely a highlight.

The hammock and balcony
Not good value unless you get a bungalow (even then its more expensive than other places!
Booking.com advertised toiletries included- when asked about it the manager didn't even know what toiletries meant.
Dirty room- floor, walls of the bedroom and bathroom.
Toilet leaked.
Shower had very lukewarm water- not hot.
Mattress very uncomfortable- springs felt.
Breakfast is a joke! Two options: pancake (crepe with banana and chocolate syprup) or egg and bread. Simple yet the eggs were undercooked each time. One morning we got up early to do a tour and wanted to have breakfast before, at 7.30am. Breakfast starts at 7am. We waited 35-45min because they hadn't bought the ingredients and went out to get them!
The room looks nothing like the pictures.
This place is a joke.

friendly staff. simple but good
15 minute from center. little choice with breakfast.

Perfect place to stay in Don Det. Staff is very approachable. Room is clean and spacious. A little bit far from the centre but we rented bicycles nearby (Paradise 2 bungalows).
Everything was perfect

Just in front of the river.
The owner is nice and the breakfast is very good, especially the pancakes.
They are a bit far from the pier. And they don't rent bicycles
3.8
good located at the riverside, the owner is very friendly and helps with everything, she organized a tour to the Mekong falls with sunset boat trip
because of the Pandamic are a lot of restaurants and guest houses closed at the moment, but it becomes more when the season starts

The accomodation was beautifull, we had a great stay. It is a little walk in the centre but there are many restaurants around. We can
The breakfast was tasty but not that much

We had the room "LaoLao" which is the room with the King Size Bed - we wanted to stay three days and we stayed 7, because it is wonderful here! The breakfast is very tasty and the location is just perfect! Mr Tho and his family are very friendly and in 5 to 10 minutes you are in the centre of the island.
There is a laundry service too and you can also rent bikes next to the hotel :)
Thank you very much!
WIFI is only available in the public places and it is really slow (but hey you don't even miss the internet in this wonderful place ;) )
3.8
Quiet area, few very good restaurants around. The breakfast offered was very good and served in the restaurant which has a river view. Also the view from the balcony of our room was quiet amazing. I would certainly return.
