Great reception, very professional and kind the entire stay!
Everything was closed nearby, not many options to eat nearby

Excellent service, gorgeous rooms, great quiet but connected location
Breakfast was not good value for money. Coffee was horrible.

Fabulous location on the harbour, with 5 minute ferry to Valetta and wonderful restaurants very close by. The hotel is beautifully restored, modern while capturing a feeling of historically authentic. Welcome drinks were well-received! The pool on the roof was an excellent place to cool off after a day of exploring the islands. Breakfast was beautifully presented and very tasty. Staff were attentive and exceptionally helpful; remembering our names and going over and above to offer things like beach towels for our daily excursions were obvious reasons of why this hotel continues to get high ratings with guests.
Hardly worth mentioning but perhaps it would have been nice to have some area of fixed shade at the rooftop pool for windy days when the umbrellas couldn’t be used.

Spacious rooms, relaxing area - lovely neighborhood feel. Easy to get around.
Perhaps more remote than staying central. Smaller pool / seating area and staff less available but it is to be expected by the boutique vs resort nature of the hotel.

Room was big enough and comfy, great to have iron in the room as it become less popular these days. Also the access to rooms is off the main entrance which to my mind is good.
There were several minor things: 1. vanity set missing 2. tooth paste, tooth brush missing 3. small thing regarding light switching - there are two entrances to toiletry, but only one place for switching. 4. please consider changing TV so it has Youtube at least, because your channel selection is very poor.

Amazing converted historical bastions, blending the modern hotel concept while maintaining the original character. rooms are amazing and staff couldn’t do more for you.

built by the knights in the 1500s on the harbor .. well restored and great space in the room with lovely view
got in little late and the bar was closed … rest was lovely

We had a wonderful stay at Cugo Gran Macina over the long Easter break. The hotel occupies a fortress-like building from XVI-th century and feels very special. Our suite with harbour view was very spacious with a double-height ceiling and a nice French-style balcony. Our suite had all the nice amenities you can expect from a solid 5* hotel. What makes this hotel extra-special are its staff - they are very friendly, welcoming and efficient and can gladly help with restaurants/ private tours/ taxi bookings.

Staying in an old fort in the 3 islands, with a quick ferry service to Valletta. The staff are extraordinarily friendly and helpful.
The price could have been cheaper.

We loved almost every aspect of our stay at the Cugo Gran Macina! The staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room (Corner Suite), was the perfect size for the two of us and also finished to a high standard. The breakfasts were amazing and the dinner was a fantastic experience as well. It was my 50th birthday during my stay and staff put some balloons and a cake in my room when we were out which was a nice touch.

excellent location with a couples of meters from the ferry station; very kind staff, clean rooms, high quality products for breakfast;
we didn’t get quite an unobstructed harbour view; sometimes some products were missing from the breakfast lists

Beautiful building, well finished with a nice balance between old and new. Attentive and friendly staff. Great food
Air conditioning was ineffective, room got too hot. No fresh milk for coffee, only longlife / uht.
They didn’t tell us there was a wedding on all weekend, it was very loud and they also had a camera drone flying over us at the swimming pool which was an invasion of privacy.

Great & beautiful location in Birgu, one of the three cities in the Grand Harbour opposite Valletta. Beautiful converted building with contemporary suites.
No mirror in the bedroom so had to use the hairdryer in the lounge where there was a mirror and socket.

Good location, very calm and charming area to have a stay, the hotel also has good interior design, friendly staff, rooftop pool, plus a michelin plate restaurant just downstairs
Breakfast options could be upgraded bit

The room looked straight onto the harbor. Great view of the docks with boats and superyachts directly in front of our room and then beautiful old buildings on the other side of the dock. The ferry to the old town was a one minute walk from the hotel. There were restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and when we dined in the hotel restaurant we found the food there was very very good. The pool on the roof was a welcome delight at the end of the day, as were the mobile gelato vendors on the harbor close to the hotel.
Not much to dislike about the hotel.

Stayed at the hotel as we had a post wedding BBQ at the hotel's rooftop venue.
Genuinely the most spectacular views I've seen in Malta and to end the night in one of the suites was just great

location, amazing staff and a really beautiful, spacious hotel

Great ambience
The restaurant next to it does all the food , if you like a meal of starters (sharing plates) between two you might end the night with a full tum. But for more than two give it a miss. 4 bits of artichoke isn't going to fill you up. Very costly too. Breakfast cost 50 euros for 2. Lots of better restaurants on the water front where you can choose a set meal.

The hotel was very well restored and modern, we basically liked everything, no bad points whatsoever. The staff was very professional and accommodating, the room was great and always clean.
It would have been nice if the hotel had its own parking, but having said that it was never a problem to get parking across the street.
