About this house rental
Heron House has everything you and your family will need to make a memorable vacation. The house is located on a dead end street, in a quiet cove a stones toss from the water, you can wake up and practically fall right in!
When entering the home you will be welcomed by high ceilings, an open layout, electric fireplace, an abundance of windows with views of the water and the two story dock.
Kayak or paddleboard around the end of cove to catch the sunrise in the morning, enjoy swimming, the dock slide, eating lunch under the covered pergola, relax with a cocktail from the 2nd story of the dock while the sun is setting and finish up with smores around the fire and some good ol' fashioned cornhole in the evening.
The primary bedroom and bathroom with double sink is located on the first floor. All bedrooms and living room have wall-mounted tvs. Fully equipped kitchen.
Bring your clothes, your toothbrush and be prepared to have a fantastic time at Heron House! Maybe you'll cross paths with our neighbor, Herbert, the great blue heron!

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at the Heron House. Everything was provided from linens to towels to beach towels to kayaks and paddle boards to paper towels and toilet paper! Simple check in and check out process. We had four adults and 6 kids and it was perfect for us!

This was an amazing vacation spot for extended family. It was fully stocked with everything we needed, even down to high chair. The kids loved the available kayaks and SUP. Monique and Derek were perfect hosts. Beautiful area, super clean house, all the water sports you could want, relaxing swimming, and a nice rural area to walk. It was exactly what we were hoping for.

We had the most amazing week. The house was Spotlessly clean. Our family spent a lot of time n the kayaks and paddle boards. The ping pong table was great. The house had plenty of areas to sit and relax or read. The location is far enough removed to feel like you’ve escaped real life, but was close enough to town to be able to make a quick run to the store. It is obvious that a lot of thought was put into the comfort and entertainment of those who rent the house. The hosts were available whenever we had a question. We will be back.

This was the perfect location on the lake. The house was super clean and was well stocked. It was the perfect stay with our kids. We really enjoyed the dock and the all this property had to the offer. The owners are excellent and they are quick to respond. We will be booking again in the near future for sure.

This location is amazing. My friends and I are adding this home to our annual Girls’ Trip. Monique and Derek were great hosts. Anything we needed or any question that we had, they were quick to respond. My friends and I are germaphobes. Immediately upon walking into the home, we felt the cleanliness. We were comfortable enough not to go through our standard disinfecting routine because it felt, looked, and smelled that clean. The lake view is amazing. We used every part of the property inside and outside. will be back!!!

Monique and Derek were great hosts and their house was even better in person! Very clean, large rooms, fully stocked kitchen and living areas with plenty of seating. The kids loved the dock slide and having the boat lift made docking really easy. The house is in a quiet area of the lake, so it is great for small children. Restaurants and grocery stores all within 5 minutes. A great place to relax and enjoy lake life!

We all had the best time! The house was perfect, everything was clean and the pictures look exactly like the house. You will not be disappointed. The home owners are the nicest people and are more then willing to help you with anything that you need help with. The lake is beautiful and relaxing.

Monique (the host) greeted us shortly after arrival. She showed us everything we needed to know about the home and gorgeous 2 story dock. The home is beautiful, decorated with a lake theme, it was exceptionally clean and well stocked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Heron House and would recommend it to anyone looking to visit the Lake Norman area.

This property was top-notch. Monique and Derek have thought of everything and then some. The house was clean, warm, and inviting. We have rented lake homes before but never have they been this beautiful. The amenities were amazing, from corn hole, kayaks, paddleboards and a Ping Pong Table. The kids were entertained the whole time.We spent our days on the water and evenings gathered on their dining room table playing cards. Most importantly they were so responsive to our questions. Great house!!
We had such a great time at Heron House! Derek and Monique are amazing and are available to answer questions or help in any way. The house itself is beautiful, but the location on the lake is the real benefit! Tip of a cove, great for swimming. All the kids tried out the paddle boards and they were a hit! Kitchen is well stocked and the pantry is a huge help for a group. The pergola seating area just outside the house is great for relaxing after a day on the lake. You will not be disappointed staying here. Boat ramp is less than 10 minutes away as well. Great vacation!

The house is beautiful, sleeps a family very comfortably and is in an absolutely gorgeous location! Monique and Derek thought of everything. In other vacation rentals we've stayed at our family has had to go to a store immediately after arriving to get hand soap, napkins/paper towels, etc. They have it covered at this house! The outdoor activities are great for all ages including kayaks and paddleboards. The second story deck is an amazing space as well. It's definitely a place we will return to again!

Perfect family get-away!
I cannot recommend this vacation home more highly! The house itself with all of its' amenities, is more than enough to help you enjoy a fun and relaxing lakeside vacation. All of the surrounding activities that there are to enjoy are just a bonus. The house is exactly as stated, with enough room for everyone to spread out, but also encourages gathering - in the living room, by the backyard firepit, playing ping-pong in the gameroom, or relaxing on the floating dock. Monique and Derek are the most perfect of hosts! They are nearby to help with anything that you need! We shall definitely be returning to Heron House for many years to come, and would not hesitate to recommend this vacation home to any of our friends and family.

Short family getaway
It was an amazing property! Our family loved everything about the Heron House! The owner, the house, the back yard the facilities were all very accommodating!! Beautiful view of the lake and sunsets!! We are so thankful that this place was available for this season of transition in all of our lives!! Perfect! So much fun! Thank you Monica!!! The cove is nice and quiet but the ease to get to more wide open water is super simple! The boat lift was such a great feature as we brought our small fishing boat as well as rented a pontoon boat at the extremely convenient marina. That was a super fun bonus. The property is updated and clean but super comfortable and homey. The kayaks and paddles boards were so much fun. We enjoyed them everyday. It was so nice that there were enough kayaks for our entire family to use together. We got up and went around the cove together one morning to watch the amazing sunrise. The upper level deck was really nice as well and enhanced our new of the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed the slide off the deck and the fire pit as well! We really didn't need to bring anything. Heron House is equipped with everything you might need! Monique and Derek are super hosts who were available for anything we needed and saw to any issue that arose. We were thrilled with our stay at Heron House and would highly recommend staying here. Hope to return some day!

Heron house is a well laid out and nicely equipped property on a large cove off the main channel. The owners are attentive and want you to fully enjoy your time. The grandkids spent hours on the slide every day and the adults were partial to the upper level of the dock. Water access was good but you need shoes due to the rocky bottom in the shallows. This was our 5th time renting on Lake Norman and all considered Heron House was the best.

AMAZING
I can’t say enough good things about our vacation at this house. The house was clean, and stocked with everything you may need in the kitchen, the beds were so comfortable. It’s located on a quiet cove. We floated in the lake every day, while our daughters kayaked and paddle boarded. We made a fire every night and watched the sunset from the top deck. Derek and Monique are so nice and were there to answer any questions we had. I definitely recommend booking this property if you are looking for a relaxing time! We will be returning next year for sure!

Getaway paradise
The property is perfect, clean, mowed, sunshine, shade from trees, clean lake water, perfect to swim, float and boat. The owners really know how to make you feel at home. The house was spectacular. It was Very clean and cool on our hot summer week. The kitchen was very easy to cook in along with the very nice clean grill outside. We had plenty of yard games to play after long days on the lake that were provided by the owners. A boat lift for a pontoon and a runabout/wakeboard boat was available which was very convenient and made lakefront living so easy! The owners were very accommodating, if we had a problem(which we had none) or questions, they were easy to contact or they would stop by to show us what we needed. They were wonderful! We will be back!

June/July 4th stay
The home was very clean and well stocked with everything you need to start your vacation (toilet paper, soap, detergent, paper plates, etc). We rented a boat and used it everyday. The owners were very helpful, and quick to respond. We felt very welcomed and loved our first trip at LKN.

This is a must rent!
So first, the property looks in person just as it does in pictures. However, in a lot of ways the pictures don't do it justice. It's at the end of a road at the edge of the lake and is extremely peaceful and beautiful. The house is gorgeous inside and the owners have gone out of the way to provide the finishing touches. A welcome basket greeted us with snacks and coffee pods. Wireless chargers in each of the rooms with a great TV and bed linens. The house was decorated very well including faucets that lit up when you turned on the water in the master bath and the yard was well groomed. The highlight at the end of each day was sitting on the 2nd story of the dock with the dock lights on and the propane fire pit burning while drinking a cocktail. The location on the lake was ideal and you can get to the main part of lake in about a minute. Groceries stores were within 2 miles and the kitchen was great to cook in. We had a full tank for the grill and we also used the wood fire pit to make smores on the last night. The 6 kayaks were used a few times during the week and were in great shape. The owners were very friendly and available to answer any questions we had via text. All in all, I would definitely rent this house again and would 100% recommend it to others!!

Fabulous and perfect vacation home- 100 Stars!
We loved our time at Heron House! The pictures are accurate in describing the grounds and house but it is really so much better in person! The kitchen is well stocked with awesome pots and pans, cookie sheets and plates, etc. There are cooking utensils, bowls and all the things to cook some meals. There are lots of games for your family to engage in such as corn hole, jarts, KanJam, etc. We had fun enjoying the top floor of the dock seating areas and Derek was helpful in explaining the dock to us for the boat. We made a fire in the fire pit several nights and made s’mores. The hosts, Monique and Derek, have worked to make this the best house for relaxing with family and friends. They were so responsive to any questions and were so glad we enjoyed their house. Well done- best house we have ever rented! Thank you so much for all the little touches that made it such a great week! Everyone in our family loved this house and we were so glad to rent this for our vacation! Thanks again!

Exceptional Property
We spent a relaxing week at Heron House for family vacation. We highly recommend this place. The owners were wonderful to deal with, answering questions about the house and the area prior to arrival and meeting us at check in to go over everything with us.
The location is perfect. The house is in a private location at the end of the street and sits on a quiet cove just off the main lake channel. A marina for boat and jet ski rentals is 10 minutes away by car and only 3 minutes by boat. Grocery stores and restaurants are 5-10 minutes away.
The house is beautiful and very well furnished and decorated. We had plenty of room for the 5 of us. The kitchen was well-equipped as we enjoyed many of our meals at the house.
The dock and outdoor space are great for hanging out. We enjoyed the lake, mornings on the dock, kayaking in the morning (4 kayaks are on the property, as well as PFDs), making smores in the fire pit and playing cornhole.
We decided on Lake Norman as a vacation spot later than we planned and were concerned that all the “good” properties would be taken. We were wrong. This place is a gem.

Amazing for family’s!
We enjoyed this property for our vacation on the lake. It’s quite and plenty of room for boat and jet ski. The owners are amazing and easy to work with on how things work with the dock. Kids loved it and we will be back for sure!

BEST SPOT EVER!!!!
We had a cousin reunion at this amazing house. It was a perfect. They had fun games for us to play. The house had all the comforts of home. The dock was our favorite! Slide for the kids and parents to have some fun. The top dock was our favorite evening time! It is in a cove so the traffic is mello which was perfect for us. Monique and Derek were amazing host. I would highly recommend this darling house to anyone. The location is key! Loved it. Look forward to going back one day! Thanks for a fabulous week!

Lakefront Leisure Time
If you are looking for a place to enjoy the lake, lounge with others, and enjoy the peace and quiet then look no further. Enough room for cornhole, lounge chairs, boat rides, family dinners and more. We took a spin on the boat, relaxed in chairs on the shore, and gathered around a large family style dining table for snacks and conversation. It sits on a quiet cove of Lake Norman, which is hard to find. Had a great time and will surely be back again.
