About this apartment rental
This beautifully furnished 2 bedroom 2 full bath condo has lots of large windows overlooking historic Church Street. The master bedroom is an en suite and features a king bed. The second queen bedroom is well separated from the master and next to the hall bath that includes a tub. This condo features lots of natural light, comfortable living area, full kitchen with separate dining area, washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave.
The Altamont Condos is located on historic Church Street in the heart of downtown. The street is tree lined and full of beautiful old buildings including three historic churches. The location is ideal, being close to everything downtown and the street is off the high traffic streets, so it is quieter than nearby Patton Avenue.
This building was originally constructed in 1895 and renovated in 2010. The historic character of the building was preserved so it continues to fit in on Church Street while adding modern features to make the property environmentally friendly, convenient and extremely safe.
There is high-capacity internet coming into the building and extensive Wi-Fi coverage so you can work remotely during an extended stay. For entertainment we provide a smart TV with Sling and local TV channels, and the Wi-Fi has enough capacity to stream on personal devices.
The building features a large elevator that makes getting luggage in and out extremely easy. There are solar panels on the roof that are behind the original parapet that preheat the building's hot water and electric water heaters in each unit are only used for backup. Heating and cooling are provided by high efficiency heat pumps that automatically bring in fresh air from the outside so indoor air never seems stale. The building also meets the same safety standards as a hotel. There is a sprinkler system, emergency lighting and fire rated emergency exits. You can enjoy the charm of an old structure on a historic street and know that if there is an emergency in the middle of the night you can safely exit the building.
Parking is available in the new Buncombe County public garage on Coxe Ave, it's behind the church across the street and a very short walk. There is another public garage under the A-Loft hotel on Biltmore Avenue.

Beautiful condo in a great location. We were afraid to sit on the couch. It almost is touching the floor in the middle. Beds and pillows were very nice.

I thought the property was perfectly located in downtown Asheville. It was close to everything but far enough from the noisy areas. The unit was very clean and easy to access. I would recommend!

My daughter and I stayed for the week. The location was fabulous. It is in the historic area, walking distance to all the restaurants and breweries. Parking was close by in a public parking garage that was secure. The beds were comfortable and the wifi connection was strong (worked remotely with multiple video conferences). Communication with the manager was effortless. Highly recommend the unit.

After previous visit and stay at hotels out of main town, this is exactly what we needed to get Asheville vibes and culture and easy access to Biltmore or Pisgah! It was a very comfortable choice for our needs!

This is a great location and a beautifully appointed condo. On the same block is a great little brew/pub with a great Cuban sandwich and great local brews. The property was very clean and neat and orderly and was very comfortable. The beds are comfortable and you can really rest well. We loved it and were all very happy with the result.

This property is in a beautiful building in a very good location for proximity to restaurants and bars. The property itself is very small, and very outdated. This property needs new furniture and new beds. The beds are very uncomfortable and the sofa and chairs are old and dirty. If you don’t plan to stay inside much maybe it’s your kind of place. There were a lot of homeless people right outside the front door, nonthreatening, but were up so late partying it was hard to sleep in the property. We stayed on the second floor and you could hear every footstep from the third floor. I actually in this town would recommend staying at the Kempton which is a great location or the AC Marriott.

It was almost impossible to communicate with the owner. No one answered the phone number listed and personnel did not return ANY of the messages I left. The owner INSISTED that we communicate by email. Then when I had a question, he wanted me to download another app to get the information I needed. Do NOT recommend this place at all due to the inability to communicate any issues directly. Not OLD PEOPLE friendly!!!!

The condo is beautiful and was in a great location. We did have a few hiccups with our stay. The elevator was not working upon our arrival and I was traveling with a family member who has difficulty with stairs. I did communicate this with the property manager who was prompt to respond via email and the elevator did get fixed but not until day 2 of our stay. Three out of the four nights there was a group of homeless individuals who camped out right in front of the building. We were in the front condo/street facing so it was very noisy all through the night while they were camped out.
Overall, I was pleased with the condo and location. Future guests just need to be prepared for the potential disruption during the night from the homeless. Despitethe issues above I would likely stay here again if I visit Asheville in the future.

Location, location, location
Great location, parking notwithstanding. Meters don’t give hours so need to know 8 am to 6 pm with a maximum at any meter 2 hours. So you can stay for free after 6 if space available but must get downstairs exactly at 8 am next day to feed meter if you aren’t quite ready to head out. Best bet if nothing in front is to park in Sears Garage off Buncombe and walk through passage next to church.
Lovely view of trees and church.
Oh, and there was an elevator!!! A real godsend as not traveling light, especially after visiting what seemed like every arts and craft store around Asheville.
Foggy Mountain next door great neighborhood tavern for those rainy days.
If traveling with a friend, having 2 BR and 2 BA is just perfect. I didn’t want to leave.

Quaint
This condo is the perfect spot for anyone who loves Asheville. This location is in the heart of the city yet nestled in among three majestic cathedrals/churches. The huge living room windows looked down to a beautiful courtyard. The condo was clean and so comfortable. The arrangements were easily made and I hope future visits to the area will include this property.

Great location in downtown Asheville
We enjoyed our stay here after a long day visiting Biltmore. It was convenient to walk to restaurants and breweries in the downtown area. The place was nicely outfitted and we were very comfortable. The only note I’ll add is that the windows facing the street aren’t very sound proof and if you’re a light sleeper you might find the traffic noise and pedestrians distracting (although at worst it’s note super busy anyway.) That being said, I’d be happy to book here again for future visits to this beautiful city!

Downtown Asheville, NC
This was a very nice historical condo. Very clean and well thought out. Located directly in downtown Asheville. Parking was a little bit tricky but if you are able to walk a little bit a distance was very doable.

Mom’s Weekend
Perfect location and perfect setup for a weekend away. We love how everyone had enough space. A little noisy due to the age of building so bring earplugs and you will be good to go!

Fantastic location
Just steps away from shopping, Asheville favorites like Tupelo Honey and French Broad Chocolate, this condo was the perfect place for a girls weekend. Spacious and clean. Parking deck is conveniently located to venture in and out to other nearby shopping, restaurants and scenic locations.

Leisure Getaway
Loved the place. Ideal location and near a parking garage, which is important in Asheville. Had to cut our trip short for personal reasons, but will book again in the future.

Nicely converted residential building and within walking distance to all of downtown Asheville.

Great Church Street Location
Very convenient historic condo on Church Street with 2 bedrooms/2 baths. Big bright widows overlooking beautiful Church Street . Hardwood floors throughout with very high ceilings. Short walk to everything downtown Asheville and short drive to Biltmore Estate. We parked at the Sears Alley parking deck which was a short walk straight up Commerce Street to the condo. We attended a Christmas Eve service at the Presbyterian church right next door which was a special treat. The only thing I would add to this beautiful condo is a basket full of cozy throws and blankets for the living room as the large windows made that room a little drafty. The kitchen was moderately stocked and has a 12 cup drip coffee maker with coffee provided which was super convenient in the morning. I would stay here again! Happy travels!

Lovely condo
The condo was lovely and clean. The floors, however, need replacing. The wood is very old and if you walk in your stocking feet or slippers, the material keeps getting caught on the old, broken up wood. It also would have been nice to have some instructions on getting network t.v. And more and better lighting for reading.
