About this cottage rental
The cottage has energy efficient ICF foam/concrete walls and natural cedar shingles weathered from sea air that encompass a gorgeous post+beam interior. Being 1 minute off legendary Cabot Trail- there are lots of activities for kids, and families and couples alike can enjoy a wonderful beach getaway. You can walk out the front door & across the field straight onto the beach. Directly in front of the cottage is a stone beach- very peaceful, private and perfect for campfires. Approximately 400 meters down the beach however, it changes to a beautiful sandy beach that is child safe and has a family-friendly atmosphere- perfect for swimming and sandcastles. We are also just minutes away from the heritage rich Acadian village of Cheticamp where the family can learn a little bit about Acadian culture and each great food at some local restaurants.

My family and I booked this charming cottage for 4 nights. It was very clean and welcoming. This little gem is located in front of the ocean and minutes away from the main st of Chéticamp. If you are looking to enjoy the trails and the maritime lifestyle, I would definitely recommend this cottage.

Everything was fantastic .

The property was everything we hoped for. Off a bit from the main road and right on the water. It was just the two of us so we weren’t concerned about the fact that it was advertised as sleeping 8. I would qualify that just a bit. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen and two double beds. Sleeping 8 adults seems a little tight. It would be perfect for a family with kids. I’d love to stay there with kids and grandkids. House was very nicely outfitted. Couldn’t figure out how to turn up the heat. Adjusting the thermostat was not clear.

The location on the isle was superb. Bedrooms were comfortable. Was a serene getaway which is what we were hoping for. Unique style with the garter door and high ceilings.
At night, place was a little chilly due to the openness of the house. Heating options were not clear.

Quel beau chalet situé sur une belle plage nous permettant de voir des très beaux couchers de soleil et d’y faire un feu de camp.

Magical Home Away From Home
Our family of 6 adults had a fabulous time staying at this very magical home on the water. The vibe of the place is easy going and welcoming.
The location is perfect for day hikes. Would recommend making reservations at the local restaurants if your planning to go out for dinner. We were very surprised when we walked thru this sleepy town during the day, how busy it was in the evening. Most restuarants closed by 8pm.

What an amazing place!
Second time at the cottage and it won't be our last! The location is spectacular and and the cottage itself is cozy and ever-so-cool! The hiking was terrific - this really is one of most favourite places anywhere.

Beautiful vacation spot!
This uniquely built cottage far surpassed our expectations! Beautifully designed, clean and very comfortable. Lots if windows and everywhere you looked was a beautiful view of either the mountains or the ocean. The open air door was awesome we had it open everyday with the ocean breeze coming through. The cottage was well equipped with everything you need for your stay. Great wifi. Very close to Chéticamp for any grocery shopping and restaurants . A great location to start to explore the Cabot Trail. Our host was great. We needed a lobster pot for a special lobster dinner and he quickly provided us with one and a cooking burner. We had a wonderful vacation and highly recommend this cottage!

Incredible week on Cape Breton
My family of 5 (3 adults, 2 children) stayed at this beautiful property for our first time in Cape Breton. The home was clean and well equipped, we had everything we needed during our stay. My children loved running to the beach in front of the home where we had nightly campfires. I loved the view! This property has a truly stunning view of the sea, the mountains, and the sunset. It was a perfect home-base for our explorations, right on the Cabot Trail. We all had a lovely time & we miss the view already! What a special place. So grateful to have been able to stay there. Thank you!

Gorgeous!!
The best VRBO we’ve ever stayed in! So beautiful, clean, well-equipped, quiet...everything perfect! Beautiful wood, lots of windows, comfy beds, lots of towels. Beautiful raw-edge dining/kitchen table. Amazing view. Lots of space. Sunny from all angles. I’d highly recommend this place!!

It was everything we had hoped it would be
This cottage is truly a a wonderful place. The setting couldn't be more perfect. We wanted a place to decompress, and it fit the bill. Perfect location for exploring the Highlands and Cheticamp area. If we ever make the long trip back to Nova Scotia, we world be happy to stay here again.
Tip: you'll need to provide all your own cooking basics. The only thing provided was salt and pepper. But there is a full grocery store in Cheticamp for everything you may need.

Fantastic!
We loved our stay at the cottage and in Cheticamp. It was a great location from which to explore Cape Breton Island and some of Canada’s musical coast.
The many windows in the cottage allowed for a great view of the Northumberland Strait/St. Lawrence. We enjoyed hanging out the beach and watching the sunset while starting a campfire.
The cottage was spacious and had everything we needed. It was clean and it was a perfect size for our family.

Peaceful Vacation Getaway
This home was more amazing in person than the pictures could ever convey- the design is incredible and it was so very relaxing and peaceful! It's not until you drive up to the home and walk out to the back patio that you can fully appreciate the land and the home's location right on the ocean. Every morning we opened the garage door and listened to the ocean while we drank our tea and then spent our afternoons exploring the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The location of this home was perfect and within close proximity to restaurants, groceries and a delicious bakery--it served as an excellent base for easily exploring the park. I would absolutely stay here again and wish I could be there relaxing right now, watching the amazing sunsets! The owner was wonderful and our experience was remarkable- truly my most favorite home that I have rented.

A wonderful little gem offering a great romantic get away.
Spotlessly clean and well appointed. Very comfortable and private, yet close to all amenities. John, the owner was very helpful and friendly. The lack of a TV was actually a bonus as it allowed us to focus on the beauty all round us.

Wow! Awesome place to stay!
This place was great for my family. Wish we could of stayed longer and that we had enough time to start a camp fire on the beach! It was clean, quiet, private, and heated floor in bathroom was amazing. Not having bathroom on first floor was a bummer but that was the only knock on this place. Stay here, it’s fantatic!
